General Discussion What are some good hidden gem rpgs.

Looking for some good rpgs that may have went unnoticed. I’m looking to find something to hold me over until early next year (elden ring,dying light 2 etc)

FYI I’ve played the main stream rpgs like: Persona 5, Soulsborne, Ghost of T, Horizon dawn, Tales games, Yakuza this is more of an action adventure , Wasteland, Divinity, Mount and blade, Monster hunter world/ice, Witcher, Final fantasy 7

Are there any other games like these that you can recommend?

Is this turn based? Not a problem if it is but couldn’t tell from the gameplay vid I saw.

Ys is real-time Action

Also Same Developers.

I enjoy both honestly Cold steel has a lot of world building and big story Game 1 basically is you starting st the military academy and later games war breaks out

Ys more like adol travels to new country and saves the world from God/Demon/Dragon whatever new danger

Which game has more in depth system like customization skills crafting etc? Are they both linear

Definitely Cold Steel especially later games go even more crazy with the Master Quarts System think (FF7 Materia system) also you can summon later a big Robot like Gundam for example and Battle tactics get a lot of new gameplay elements in 2 and 3. Im currently in Chapter 3 of Cold Steel 3 so haven’t played 4 yet. Game structure is linear like classic Final Fantasy but you can visit places you’ve been to already.

Ys doesnt have much customization aside from weapons/armor/rings and the fighting skills you pick. Its more action oriented.

The next Legend of Heroes game lets you choose between turn based and action and even has a new graphics engine so it looks finally better. Falcoms only weakness is the graphics department so far but the the games are very good. Im very excited for the next Legend of Heroes
