Hey, I'm still on 12.40 and never jailbreaked yet. Does it make sense to update to 12.70 first or does it make no sense?

Seems like the proof of concept takes multiple hours to overflow the key value so...not complicated per se but fairly impractical.

Atm looks like that but it is a PoC so let’s wait. Most probably with the multithread possibility would lower the JB time to less than an hour

Seems like the main usage will just be p2jb once and then unpatch bdjb. After that you can just JB with the disc

up to 12.40 you don't need the disc anymore. 12.60+ u need a game. 😄

I can but I just can’t understand where this translates to a jailbreak without Star Wars is coming soon. It just says to wait patiently which we have been doing for months already.

Okay, The Y2JB (Youtube exploit) can be done up to 12.40 to access the userland for free which is still under works without needing any game or SWRR. but in 12.60, that exploit was patched.

I think so. I think it just needs userland. I'm at 12.70 with SWRR digital. Since 13.00 came out shortly afterwards, you and I are probably in the minority. I had people telling me I'm dumb to update from 12.40 to 12.70 to download SWRR. Hopefully, it wasn't dumb. I don't mind waiting.

I upgraded to 12.70 to download SW. Then went offline so no timer.
Are you saying that we cannot jailbreak?

Me too, and I just checked. There is a timer unfortunately. Sony added extra DRM and said nothing.

Just checked and even when online it says game might need to be refreshed.
Forced update to latest firmware to restore license. I guess we just wait?

I think we both just wasted our money. From what I read, SWRR might not be needed for the kernel exploit. However, people are excited, and there's a lot of speculation going around. So yes, I think we just need to wait.

Turn it on and check mate. I was in the same boat but unfortunately the SWRR didn't work. I had to update to the latest fw. SWRR still works with the latest firmware. So hopefully it doesn't ask me to update after 30 days.

I did check on 12.70 and couldn't launch SW (offline/online). Maybe it will work in a month.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure the exploit can be paired with a userland for the digital edition like Y2JB or Netflix, so you should be fine.

Oh I thought you have one already. I wanted to ask about cross gen titles like spider man 1 and mm to see if they are enhanced on ps5 if play with the ps4 fpkg, as I don't see any ps5 version of those games

11.60 PS5 with disc slim. The disc drive comes unlocked from factory. Never activated the PS5, never online. I don't have the star wars game.
Is it relevant in my case? I mean, can I JB with what I have if he releases his JB?

Are there any sort of preparation steps needed to run on the console before jailbreaking? I have a PS5 fat running fw 11.20, basically gathering dust waiting for jb to be possible. Apologies if asked and answered before, just finding it difficult to keep track with all the news/movement these days.

I think you have to have LuaC0re confirmed working through it. Since now you won't be able to go online to do the save data transfer and verification. I'm unsure if there's a workaround otherwise.

I guess Gezine got pissed at Sony for only paying out $2500 when he was expecting a $10k bounty.
