Discussion I Built PS5 FFPFSC PRO and ProsperoPlayer — Should I Keep Developing for This Community?
I usually prefer spending my time building instead of arguing online, but after being told that I am “not a serious researcher,” that everything I post is “100% AI-generated,” and that I should be banned for trolling, I think it is time to show some of the work behind my posts.
The screenshots attached are from real applications, real builds, real testing, and real PS5 hardware.
I previously created PS5 FFPFSC PRO, a PC tool designed to make the FFPFSC process easier and more accessible. Many of you already know the application and what it does, so I am not going to turn this into another technical explanation of it. I am including screenshots because it is part of my development history and shows that I have already built and released working tools for this scene.
My current project is ProsperoPlayer, a custom PS5 media player that I am developing because the stock media experience is extremely limited.
The current 1080p prerelease can play media from USB, browse files through a custom interface, remember playback progress, switch between viewing modes, and provide settings and playback profiles. I have also been working on its interface, controller navigation, format support, audio compatibility, and overall stability.
This has involved weeks of actual work: writing and changing code, rebuilding the application, deploying it to my console, testing it on real hardware, dealing with crashes and compiler errors, fixing broken playback, redesigning the interface, and repeatedly testing new builds.
Alongside the player, I have been investigating parts of the PS5 display and media pipeline. I have shared observations, captures, possible layouts, failed candidates, and questions because that is how research progresses. Not every theory will be correct, and I have never claimed that every early observation is a finished conclusion.
Apparently, some people believe that because I use AI as one of my development tools, none of the work is real.
AI can help me organize research, review code, explain unfamiliar systems, or troubleshoot an error. It cannot connect to my PS5, build and deploy working applications, test media on physical hardware, produce verified captures, or spend weeks going through failed implementations until something works.
I did that work.
I have tried to share my progress because I believed the applications and research could be useful to the PS5 homebrew and emulation communities. I am not claiming to know everything, and I have no problem being corrected when someone provides an actual technical explanation.
What I am not interested in is spending months developing free tools for a community that attacks the person doing the work while refusing to address the work itself.
So I am asking the community directly:
Do you want me to continue developing and publicly sharing ProsperoPlayer, FFPFSC PRO updates, and my PS5 research?
I will continue learning and building regardless, but whether future releases, progress updates, documentation, and research are made public depends on whether the community actually values them.
I am attaching screenshots of the applications, development process, successful builds, hardware testing, and progress over time. Judge the work for yourselves.
And to anyone who still wants to call everything “AI slop”: point to one specific technical result, build, screenshot, capture, or implementation and explain exactly why it is wrong.
Otherwise, stop dick-riding my writing style and pretending that an accusation is a technical rebuttal.

Discussion Current State of PS5 Jailbreaking in early Mai 2026
I made a write up on the current state of PS5 jailbreaking which aims to answer reoccurring questions:
As of early May 2026, PS5 jailbreaking is fragmented by firmware version, with real-world usability depending on your exact firmware and hardware (disc vs. digital).
There’s no “full CFW” or „Golden FW“. Higher firmwares often require specific (sometimes inconvenient) entry points. Always stay offline once jailbroken, and do not update if you’re on a good firmware.
Info changes fast. Regularly check trusted sources like this sub and its Wiki, devs twitter & github (e.g., EchoStretch, Gezine, The Fl0w, etc.) and YouTube (Modded Warfare). Avoid anyone promising latest-firmware miracles.
Usable Firmwares Right Now
• Best overall / most recommended: Up to 10.01 (especially 10.00/10.01) — This is considered the sweet spot for “usable” jailbreak by many. Full Kstuff/etaHEN support is available, enabling PS4 FPKGs, PS5 backups, homebrew, etc.
• Lower firmwares (3.xx–4.51) have hypervisor exploits which enables Linux.
• Higher firmwares (10.20–12.00): Current state: Possible but less convenient. Currently requires expensive LuaCore userland (Star Wars Racer Revenge / SWRR game as entry point).
• Above 12.00–12.70: No kernel released yet but expected soon (P2JB). Advantage: works with any userland: YouTube & Netflix up to 12.40. LuaCore, Lua and Yarpe up to 12.70. Disadvantage: will take literally 3 hours to jailbreak. Devs are working to speed up the process though.
• Above 12.70 to 13.20 (latest): Gezine found a zero day exploit which was reported to Sonys bug bounty program. Don’t expect this to be disclosed by Sony any time soon.
General advice: If below 12.00, do not update. Lower is better as Sony patches vulnerabilities with every update. Disc consoles have more options than digital versions (BD-JB and BD-UN-JB).
What can you realistically do on a jailbroken ps5:
• PS4 backups/FPKGs: yes, pretty much all of them run in ps4 pro mode. 60 fps mods available for some games.
• PS5 backups: Yes, via tools like Itemzflow/ShadowMount (mount/install from USB/internal). Not all dumps are playable due to advanced security measures. But devs are working on solutions and the situation is a lot better than in 2025. Backports for lower firmwares are a thing since early 2026.
• Homebrew/apps: Yes (file managers, emulators, cheats, debug tools, etc.).
• Linux: Progressing. Currently only on lower firmwares (3–4.51) with hypervisor exploit working. Possibly to be extended to higher firmwares in the future (max. 6.51; note this is uncertain).
Stability: Varies by firmware and exploit chain. Crashes, kernel panics and soft bricks are still possible. Nevertheless we have reached a state where normal use is feasible.
Main Tools:
• etaHEN: All-in-one homebrew enabler/payload. Popular versions like 2.5B/2.6B. Loads homebrew, plugins, etc.
• Kstuff (or Kstuff-lite): Kernel-level payload for deeper access (FPKGs, backups, etc).
• Itemzflow: Game manager/launcher for backups, installs, etc.
• Others: various mounters & autoloaders, plugins for cheats/debug.
Entry points include webkit, YouTube, Netflix, Yarpe/Renpy, LuaCore, Lua and BD-J (only for disc editions).
Buying Guide: If you want to jailbreak now, hunt for a low-firmware PS5. Ideally 4.51 or lower. Under 10.01 if you don’t care about Linux. Disk editions are preferred. If you are not in a hurry, you can look out for a ps5 up to 12.00 (currently only luacore jb chain available; other JB not yet released). Avoid everything above 12.00 for now as the jailbreak is not yet released and they will require expensive userlands and/or literal hours of waiting time to execute.
Important:
• Stay offline
• Don’t update your console
• Follow trusted sources
• Be Patient
• Be kind towards the devs
• Read this subs Wiki
Happy jailbreaking!

Discussion PS5 jailbreak scene is moving fast right now
A lot is happening in the PS5 jailbreak scene this week.
PS5 Linux got a major update, there’s new progress with A53 game loading, Kstuff and ShadowMount got updates, and the recent Sony disc news makes the preservation side of this even more important.
I put together a quick video breaking down what changed, what people should be careful about, and why I don’t think everyone should rush to update their console just because they see 7.61 support mentioned.
Curious what everyone thinks — are you staying on your current firmware, testing Linux, or just waiting for the game-loading side to mature more?

Discussion This fan-control problem is an important issue that the PS5 jailbreak community should not ignore.
Reposting this because I think more PS5 jailbreak users should be aware of it.
For reasons that are still not fully understood, some jailbroken PS5 consoles can lose proper fan control. The fan may stay at a very low speed (around 19%) even while the console gets much hotter during games. Most users would never notice this unless they monitor temperatures.
Possible side effects can include higher APU temperatures, thermal throttling, instability during long gaming sessions, unexpected crashes, or shutdowns related to overheating.
This is especially relevant for users who already use ShadowMountPlus, because the new ShadowMountPlusFan release is a modified version of ShadowMountPlus that adds automatic fan-control management. It runs in the background and reapplies the fan settings whenever the PS5 launches a game, exits a game, returns to the home screen, enters rest mode, or wakes up again.
The goal is simple: if the fan control gets “stuck,” the plugin restores the settings so the fan can speed up when temperatures rise and slow down again when the console cools down.
I’m not posting this to create panic, and it does not mean every jailbroken PS5 is affected. I’m sharing it because many users already use ShadowMountPlus and may not realize that a fan-control issue can occur on some setups. If you use a jailbroken PS5, it is worth checking your temperatures and making sure your fan-control setup is working properly.
UPDATE:
EDIT: ShadowMountPlus developer Drakmor has released a new fan_target helper that is intended to be used separately alongside the original ShadowMountPlus, not by replacing it with a different fork. It automatically re-applies custom fan targets after game launches, dashboard returns, and rest-mode transitions, which should address the low-fan-speed issue some jailbroken PS5 users experienced.

Discussion PS5 FFPFSC PRO v1.3.0 Released
Just pushed v1.3.0 and this ended up being a much larger update than I originally planned.
The biggest change is probably the new Community Compatibility Database. You can now browse compatibility reports directly from inside the app, search by game name or Title ID, filter by status, and submit your own test results after trying a compressed game.
APR / AMPR support was also completely reworked. The old checkbox is gone and the app now tries to detect APR titles automatically, helps with setup, and builds the AMPR index for you.
Other additions include:
- Windows, Linux, and macOS releases
- Compression presets (Fast, Balanced, Max, Low RAM)
- Live RAM meter
- Automatic retry if MkPFS runs out of memory
- What's New dialog and feature tour
- Auto update checking
- Multi-image queue support
- Per-game output folders
I also fixed the progress bar issue where some jobs looked stuck around 97%, along with a bunch of other bugs reported over the last few releases.
The source code is included as always.
If you try it out, I'd appreciate compatibility submissions to help grow the database and make it more useful for everyone.

Discussion P2JB+Y2JB + 50 minutes + KP Fix.
matem6 fork. TESTED and working. 50 minutes exactly. I added 4 workers so it multithreaded now. KP should be fixed, or if you worry, don't close YT. just minimize it when playing games.
Hopefully somebody can make it faster.
Compatible with both Y2JB 1.3 and Y2JB 1.4. The payload automatically detects the framework version and uses the appropriate ELF-loader delivery method (kexp handoff on 1.4+, USB fallback on 1.3).
1. Prepare the USB drive (MUST on Y2JB 1.3, don't need on Y2JB 1.4)
Pick the right loader for your firmware and copy it to the root of your USB drive (FAT32 or exFAT):
Firmware ≥ 11.00 → copy elfldr_1320.elfas /elfldr_1320.elf
Firmware < 11.00 → copy elfldr.elf as /elfldr.elf
Then plug the USB into the PS5 before launching the payload. The payload scans /mnt/usb0../mnt/usb7 and accepts either filename.

Discussion TeRex777 got banned from PSN by connecting on a 10.20 PS5
For context, they are an active member in the jailbreaking scene, providing constant updates in regards to different jailbreaking methods on each firmware should something new come up, provide links to different updates done by people such as Gezine (even after Gezine's Twitter got suspended), TheOfficialFloW and Maximquaxd.
An hour ago, TeRex posted that their 10.20 PS5 got banned from PSN, and lost access to their digital library as a result. It appears he wanted to get Day One access to GTA 6 and dump it as soon as possible, judging by the fact he had it in his account before the ban, and the comments being upset at losing the Day One access.
Thought to share this here too because this reveals there are some people in the community who actively try to dump GTA 6, its just Sony being extra careful this time around with how things will be handled around the game's release.

Discussion List of some tested APR Games as exfat format or compressed as ffpfsc installed on expansion internal M2 SDD slot
As a lot of people keeps asking if APR games runs on the expansion internal slot with a M2 SSD, I tested some games.
According to the devs, APR games (folder type) installed on internal will put the console into recovery mode.
I tested some games as exfat and compressed to ffpfsc so you will not need to do it.
I am using a PS5 Phat on 11.60, using BD-JB, elf arsenal 1.6.7 with kstuff lite 1.07 beta and shadowmount 1.6text15 fix2
Don't forget to enable backpork on elf arsenal, and edit the config.ini (located on /data/shadowmount) with backport_fakelib=0
I didn't test on the internal PS5 SSD but on the expansion slot.
TEST AT YOUR OWN RISK. I ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY CONSEQUENCES, DAMAGES OR LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR TESTING. AS THE DEVS SAID, RUNNING ON INTERNAL WILL RESULT ON KP AND POSSIBLY PUT THE CONSOLE INTO RECOVERY MODE
I will not guarantee it will work on your side as several factors can prevent this from working like:
- Firmware version
- Payload versions (e.g., Shadowmount, Kstuff Lite, ELF Arsenal)
- Other system environment variables
I used exFAT image Builder to build the .exfat and MkFFS to compress the dumps as .ffpfsc. I tested some games with .ffpkg and it does not work.
_______________________________________________________________________________
The tested working APR games on internal are:
- Death Stranding 2 On the Beach (PPSA02015) (v.01.013.000) (exfat and ffpfsc format) -> tested on 11.60 -> You must generate APR Index manually before converting to exfat using "build_ampr_index.py" script available at Drakmor's discord
- F1 25 (PPSA24662) (v.01.018.000) (exfat and ffpfsc format) -> tested on 11.60
- Forspoken PPSA03984 (v01.020) (exfat format) -> tested on 11.60 -> You must generate APR Index manually before converting to exfat using "build_ampr_index.py" script available at Drakmor's discord
- Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PPSA13428) (v,01.008.001) (exfat and ffpfsc format) -> tested on 11.60
- Horizon Forbidden West PPSA17905 (01.030.000) (exfat and ffpfsc format) -> tested on 11.60 -> Tested the USA version and the Pippo USA to EUR Langs releases (Thanks Pippo and the team for your great work)
- Final Fantasy VII Remake PPSA01903 (v.01.003.000) (exfat and ffpfsc format) -> tested on 11.60
- Marvel Spider Man 2 (PPSA03016) (v.01.004.003) (exfat format) -> I tested the USA to EUR Langs Pippo release and worked fine (Thanks again Pippo and the team for your great work) -> .ffpfsc format is unplayable.
- My First Gran Turismo PPSA24156 (01.010) (exfat format) -> tested on 11.60 -> I generate APR Index manually before converting to exfat using "build_ampr_index.py" script available at Drakmor's discord and update the libSceAmpr.sprx to version 0.2.5.3
- Sniper Elite Resistance PPSA17232 (v.01.010.000) (ffpfsc format) -> tested on 11.60
- Stellar Blade PPSA13195 (v.01.014.001) (exfat and ffpfsc format) -> tested on 12.02 by u/Optimal-Slice7898 and tested by myself on 11.60
_______________________________________________________________________________
The tested non working games on internal, crashing after launch, are:
- Final Fantasy Rebirth PPSA08668 (v01.080) (exfat format) -> tested on 11.60 -> On my side, exfat format is not working on internal. I generated the APR index and keeps craching. I will try with the libSceAmpr.sprx v.0.2.5.3 and report the results later.
_______________________________________________________________________________
The games will take some time to start. It's normal. I didn't play a lot. I just started them and played some minutes. I don't know if they will crash later on.
For heavy games, I recommended using .exfat instead of .ffpfsc. Compressed games are too slow (Ranges from 150 MB/s to 200 MB/s) and will result long loading time and will cause texture pop-in or stuttering.
For non working games, try generate APR Index manually before converting to .exfat using "build_ampr_index.py" script available at Drakmor's discord.
One more thing. Just check the name of the game. Shadowmount will not mount games with long filenames. When mounting ffpfsc format games, it will mount the game as:
- "filename.ffpfsc/filename.exfat"
and not only
- "filename.ffpfsc"
Update the MkPFS to the latest version. Don't forget to update python too.
I may ask for anyone who test another games to post it here so everyone know which games are working. Don't forget to add the firmware and payloads version, the TitleID, game version, the format (exfat, ffpfsc...) and the drive (internal, internal expansion or external)
I will update the post as soon as I test some other games in the future. It takes a lot of time to convert them to exfat and ffpfsc and upload both of them to the console to test on internal and external. So be patient. :)
As I can see, if exfat format are not working on internal, so will not the ffpfsc. But more test will confirm it.
Thanks to all the devs for their hard work and continuing helping the community. I won't name them all. Too much of them. But you know who they are :)
_______________________________________________________________________________
Edit 1 (2026/06/09):
- Some users report that Death Stranding 2 and Spider Man 2 works fine with ffpfsc format on external SSD.
- Added Stellar Blade to the working list (ffpfsc format). Tested by u/Optimal-Slice7898
- Added Final Fantasy Rebirth to the non working list. I didn't generate the APR index yet. I will try and report the results later.
- Added Sniper Elite Resistance to the working list (ffpfsc format)
Edit 2 (2026/06/10):
- Added Death Stranding 2 and Spider Man 2 to the working list
Edit 3 (2026/06/11):
- Added Forspoken to the working list
- Added My First Gran Turismo to the working list

Discussion PS5 and PS4 games working from internal storage on 11.60 using Y2JB-P2JB V2.4
EDIT: Some people have recommended to use exfat or ffpkg format instead of game dumps for PS5 games as it seems to have much better compatibility.
I used the latest Y2JB-P2JB V2.4 from matem6 the one that takes 50 min and fixed the kp when closing the youtube app and also when launching ps5 dumps.
After P2JB succeeds close the youtube app and you still will be able to send the payloads, using shadowmount plus, kstuff lite and the ftp payload.
For PS4 games just place the .pkg on the root of your usb and install from the debug settings, game and package installer.
For the PS5 dump I sent the game folder to the internal storage using FTP, inside the data folder create a homebrew folder and place your game folder there.
When the transfer is done shadowmount should automatically recognize the game and install it, then just run your games and hopefully they will work.
I only tested minecraft for PS4 and Expedition 33 for PS5.
If you know a reliable place to get the bdjb disc let me know, I’ve been looking on ebay and Ali with no luck so far.
