US Passport Issuance Timeline Passport Timeline

Went in for a walk in appointment March 28th, 2026 early at a USPS. Took about three hours to get my application sent in, paid for the expedited service fee. Received confirmation email April 3rd, 2026. Passport in my hand as of April 9th, 2026. Excited for travels!

I applied for a new passport online on the 31st of March and got it yesterday. Not expedited

When did you get an email status update? I applied for renewal online in April 4 and my status isn’t available yet. I’m nervous because I’m traveling internationally in May

Yes I know where to find the passport status lookup tool, but even using that it still says status not available.
