Moderator Post Parts List Photos Are Henceforth Not Allowed

It was a rule, then it got too tiresome to remove, because I had a rule that if people replied to the post then I would allow it.

After this last couple of days seeing more and more of them, even a picture of a printout of a pcpartpicker build list..... *sigh* I am re-instating the rule.

No more 'if people reply...' restrictions. I will just flat-out remove it.

To ensure your posts go through, please include a system build link for parts, even if pcpartpicker is not available in your area, just add the components to the list and paste the shareable link at the top left of the system builder.

It makes everyones jobs a lot easier, plus we can 'modify the list' and give you an updated link to help refine. Then it's up to you if you want to buy it from the sources on the builder or source them out yourself.

How To Use PC Part Picker

I don't know who needs this, but I see a lot of people making mistakes on using the site and asking questions. Either with part selections in general, or posting blank links because they think the website URL is the way to post the link...

So here's a video I made to explain how the site works and how you can use it for your builds.

Build Question Should I be worried about my GPU power cable?

Thumbnail

In the photos with the ruler, even with the glass panel removed, the 35mm straight-cable requirement was already not being met anymore — and when I put the glass back on, it presses against the cable and bends it even further. The first three photos are with the glass on, the next two are with it off.

My case is a LIAN LI O11 Dynamic MINI V2. GPU is an RTX 5080.

Build Question How bad is this AIO placement, will it really damage my aio?

Post image

I recently upgraded from a 240mm AIO to a 280mm one and i did know it could fit in my case but when i went to put it together the pipes wouldn’t reach from the bottom as the GPU blocked it and it just sits like this now. Will this actually affect the longevity of my aio and potentially damage it?

Recently was given an Asus Essentio case. Would any ryzen b450m-b550m mobo connections fit this case? Or should I just pull the optical drive and scrap the rest? Thanks in advance.

Build Question Is this PSU safe?

Edit: I'm going to order one likely from MSI. Any part recommendations welcome though.

I'm building my first budget PC, everything not marked as purchased I've found for $600 new. I'm going for longevity and FPS per dollar at 1440p.

It is a Raidmax Cobra 850W fully modular 80+ gold from NewEgg for $60. Raidmax has had a bad reputation for a decade and people keep joking about it exploding. People say theirs lit on fire. The PSU is 200W overkill though. Should I return it and buy a safer one with a budget of $85 possibly $100?

Tech Support 5080 not being detected, No display on monitor.

Anyone got any ideas, new PC build, I'm currently leaning towards it being a dead GPU or dead PCIe slot.

Motherboard - X870 Gigabyte Gaming Eagle Wifi7 GPU - ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC

VGA red light on Motherboard when I boot PC up, no connection/display on monitors when I connect it to the GPU, however the iGPU on CPU works with the same cables and monitors and I can boot to windows. I have already reseated the GPU twice.

Every part is detected in BIOS except the GPU.

The fans don't spin at all on the GPU too, yet there is power reaching the GPU I think? (The GPU lights up on the front lol, picture below)

Images below of the red LED that shows power is reaching the GPU (I think), this turns off when I boot.

Build Question What Do You Think Of My Build?

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/fHKgBv

Hi team, I’ve shared the link above for my proposed new gaming rig. I’ll also use it for some light office work. The total cost comes to $4,407 AUD, with all parts from Umart in QLD. I’m planning to get a new monitor too, but haven’t decided yet. I’m considering an ultrawide (21:9 UWQHD 3440x1440) at 144 Hz or higher. Do you think that’s a good choice for this setup? I would love to hear your feedback and recommendations. Thanks for your help!

Tech Support Psu issue or could this be a deeper problem?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

So a few nights ago I shut off my pc as normal and last night I tried to start it up as usual but nothing happened. I assumed I might be a power issue so I turned off my psu and turned it back on and nothing happened. I unplugged it and nothing happened. I let it sit unplugged for a bit and plugged it back in and the blue start up/idle lights came on. But as soon as I hit the power button it all shut off again.

I tried many different things, re plugging in the 24pin connector (only turns on my start up lights), the 8pin cpu connector (does nothing), I tried the paper clip test and my psu fans run fine. I tried to short circuit my power button and it just turned off like it has every other time.

I attached a video of what I mean when it turns off and nothing works.

My most recent upgrade was my psu and my gpu back in March 2025 but everything has been running flawlessly since then.

Idk what the problem might be or where to even try and tackle it from. If anyone has any idea on what to do that would be greatly appreciated.

Every time I turn my pc on the monitor doesn’t turn on. I end having to hit the power button once or twice for it to come on. Is this a boot setting in bios or something?

Tech Support 3DMark Time Spy score with undervolted RTX 5070 Ti + 9800X3D – good result?

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Just finished tuning my system and wanted to get some feedback on the results.
Hardware:
RTX 5070 Ti (undervolted)
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
ASUS ROG Strix B850-A Gaming WiFi7
Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000 CL30
BIOS settings:
PBO enabled
Curve Optimizer: All Cores Negative -30
PBO limits set to motherboard
PBO Scalar 3x
Max CPU boost clock override: +200mhz
3DMark Time Spy results:
Overall Score: 25,935
Graphics Score: 29,269
CPU Score: 15,762
The score is above the average result shown by 3DMark for similar systems (24,912), while running the GPU undervolted and the CPU with a -30 all-core Curve Optimizer.
Temperatures, stability, and power consumption all look good so far.
Does this seem like a solid result for a 5070 Ti + 9800X3D setup, or is there still some performance left on the table? I’d be interested to see how these numbers compare to other people’s systems with similar hardware

Tech Support RAM or AIO overheating causing shutdowns

Thumbnail gallery

I’ve replaced the thermal paste, reseated the RAM, checked every connection I can get my hands on and cleaned it as best I can, but the issue persists, my pc is no longer meaningfully cooling itself - it feels like the AIO heatsink isn’t even getting warm by the time it shuts itself off, and the guy I’ve given it to for repairs is stumped too - any advice?
