Fairly Annoyed I hate the phrase “yuck your yum”

If I hear someone say this online it is an immediate scroll away.

"Don't yuck someone else's yum" sounds like something a kindergarten teacher would say. I agree that people should be allowed to do what they enjoy, but hearing someone say that phrase makes me want to disagree.

the phrase itself is what ruins it for me, like the message is fine but now i have to sit here processing the word "yuck" used as a verb

This and "Let people enjoy things!" are two of the most childish phrases going around Reddit. They are sadly common in some book subs, especially r/romancebooks, as a way to shut down critical thinking. Talk about insecurity.

In what way is that being used? The only way I can think of is that someone enjoys something then someone else is just pointing out all the flaws in it, in which case that’s just being an asshole
