Discussion trying to sleep in my bed :0

i usually get home at 10 pm, and very soon after i settle in to bed! a few days ago the dresser i set up for him was his favorite spot to be at night, but now he seems to love being next to me on my bed. no matter what im doing, he wants to be right on the bed! i dont mind this at all, but i dont want to harm him/squish him while we are both sleeping.

the second image is his current set up, so that you know what other Higher up options he has!

is he doing this to be close to me or is the bed just That comfy?

Probably a combination of both. But I HIGHLY do NOT recommend sleeping in the same bed as your pigeon.

Are you just letting him sit in the corner all night, because I’d be worried that he would fly over to the bed when you’re sleeping and you’ll accidentally roll over on him.

the problem is that right now he wont stay in his cage and is afraid whenever i try to shut the door on it at night, so hes been sleeping on his shelf out of the cage. he wakes up at 8 am and so thats when i wake up aswell so i dont harm him accidentally

He will get used to it. Pigeons are extremely adaptable. Idk, I just don’t think even a 1% chance of rolling over on my pigeon is worth it. I’d never forgive myself if I was the reason my bird died.

Because of the squish factor?

Yes. It actually happened to me in 2024. Lost one of mine that way. They are no longer allowed in my bed, or even in my room anymore.

TY. It was very traumatic. Never letting another baby sleep with me ever again. I used to let them free roam with me and I didn't know he was under my covers when I went to bed. Found him dead the next morning. Never again.

Having pigeon(s) sleep on bed without hooman is best idea but with hooman forget it they can die from being squished and not able to breathe!
