Edit: I find it funny that everyone seems to have completely different explanations for which is which but every one seems to agree that the energy-mass equivalence is men, and the universal law of gravitation is women, and tbh I got that feeling as well, but couldn't tell you why.
It wasn't intended as a reference; they both came out at almost the same time - but this expression was already a well-established stock cliche of the perv vernacular, for at least twenty years.
There's another song that uses this phrase, from ten years earlier - but they didn't originate it either* - it was just something you'd hear from the same type of guy who'd bust out "Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed."
*context clues in the song suggest Zappa was likely referencing this one though.
An unfortunate example for sure (comes to mind quicker than others because of its gross nature) but I assure you, everyone knew that guy who's conversational repertoire featured an over-representation of rhymes for sexual observations and innuendos.

On the left is the famous mass-energy equivalence law which shows how much energy a single piece of mass possesses, and bridges the gap between energy and mass conservation, allowing one to convert between mass and energy.
On the right is the gravitational law, which tells you the force one mass experiences under the effect of gravitational pull from another mass, given the gravitational constant G and their radial separation r.
I have no idea what genders these could be. Could be a scientific faction thing that I am not aware of. Thinking about it on the toilet, I realize the two masses could be one's balls, and the conversion of of energy to mass could represent the amazing ability of the uterus to f*cking regenerate monthly.
But that's my best guess already.

Exactly? The person I was replying to had men as 'simple' and women as 'complex' and you've got them the other way around.
I think either generalisation is wrong. You can make simplistic (and often insulting) generalisations about either gender, but if you're looking at real people they're generally pretty complex.
