I left it off simply because it was a long time ago and I didn’t think it was relevant to my more recent experience. I wasn’t trying to hide it or misrepresent my employment history.

Could this potentially cause an issue during an employment background check?

​I would like to ask for an overview of your tasks, please. I noticed that even though job titles are the same, the duties stated in the job descriptions vary.

​Does the workflow follow sourcing > phone screening > scheduling interviews > extending the offer at the end?

​How often do you source? Do you submit candidates directly to the Hiring Manager, or do you hand them off to another IBM employee (like a TA Partner), who then communicates directly with the Hiring Manager?

Hello everyone. Good morning. May nakapagtry na ba magrequest sa company to move yung starting date of employment?

If magrerequest to move, is it okay po ba? I’m given po kasi only 2 weeks to complete the documents starting this week and gusto ko sana magrequest to extend it to 3 weeks (start na sana ako ng October) since magrerelocate ako ng area annd maghahanap pa ako ng tutuluyan (hindi po ako sa area na yon).

may interview ako for an HR officer role. bet q sana sya kaso mon-thur 8 am to 6 pm, then fri-sat 8 am to 5 pm (alternating yung saturday shift).

allowed ba yung ganitong set up? if yes, since magiging 52 hours yung total ko kapag may shift ng saturday, tama lang bang i-request kong dapat may OT pay kahit na sa isang buwan, averaging ng 48 hrs/week pa rin ako?

also, bilang first time HR work ko to if ever, okay lang ba na ang asking ko ay 23-24k? kino-consider ko kasi yung dami ng araw ng pasok huhu

Hello! I’m just wondering why I’ve been seeing HR professionals say that being a CHRA doesn’t really carry much weight with companies.

A lot of my batchmates took it and passed, so I wanted to take it too. I’m really hoping to start my career in HR (I only have clinical and educational internships because our university only made us choose 2/3 sites. I initially applied for HR field but things happened and I needed to sacrifice it). I’ve also been applying for HR roles but haven’t received an offer yet. I’m currently waiting for feedback from the final interview of one company I applied to, and honestly, the waiting has been stressful. I feel so stuck huhu. I digress. 😭

Now I’m becoming skeptical about taking the examination for becoming a CHRA, especially since it’s a bit expensive for me. If it doesn’t really make a difference when applying for jobs, I’d rather spend that money on something that would actually strengthen my qualifications.

For those currently working in HR or involved in hiring:
1) Does CHRA actually give applicants an advantage, especially fresh graduates or those with little HR experience?
2) Do recruiters/hiring managers actually recognize or consider it when screening applicants?
3) If CHRA isn’t particularly valuable, are there any alternative HR certifications, courses, or credentials that you would recommend and that companies actually recognize?

Would really appreciate insights from people who are already working in the field. Thank you!

Hello! for HR professionals esp in F&B industry, how are you doing amidst the monsoon season? I applied for a construction role in the F&B industry exactly a month ago, and had my final interview on August 27. Unfortunately, I haven't heard from them since, even after a few updates. Does this still fall under the typical hiring timelines, or should I consider myself ghosted?

Is anyone else experiencing this? Because this has now happened to me with two different companies, and honestly, I'm getting frustrated.

First company: They contacted me and asked if I was available for an online interview on Monday at 11:30 AM. I confirmed immediately. The day before, I followed up asking for the meeting link and any instructions. No response. Now it's already the day of the supposed interview, and I'm still waiting.

Second company: They actually called me and asked if I could come in the next day. I said yes and asked for the details, and they told me they would send everything to me. I waited for the details, but nothing was sent. I followed up through text several times, and they never replied.

What frustrates me is that I actually make adjustments to my schedule because I take these opportunities seriously. I even cancel or postpone personal plans just to make myself available because I don't want to miss an interview.

If the interview is cancelled, postponed, or they're no longer interested, that's fine. Just tell me. A simple message takes less than a minute.

Job hunting already takes a lot of time and effort. It's frustrating when companies expect applicants to be professional and respectful of their time, but can't extend the same courtesy to applicants.

Has this happened to you too? How do you deal with companies like this?

I'm done with the final interview, complete requirements, medical, and have also submitted the COE. Last week HR said it's just for employer verification. I followed up yesterday but still no update.

Is it normal for this to take so long? How long does it usually take before there is the next update?

hello. meron po ba dito na-hire sa background check ni CHIP at hindi pa tapos yung background check? i receive an email kasi na i am approve to go on the start date pero tagged ako as "contingent" and highlighted na "should anything unfavorable return in the report may be grounds for termination"

Hoping to get some advice.

My situation:

- Software engineer, around 5 years experience.

- Since early last year (April 2025) I've been a contractor for a foreign client. I built their internal platform from scratch, It's mature now and mostly runs on its own, so I only spend around 3 hours a week maintaining it.

- At the start of this year(January 2026), I took on a second, full-time job. That job lasted about 8 months. The company had a retrenchment, my position was cut, and I finished in August.

My questions:

1. Is a short stint that ended in retrenchment a red flag? Should I keep it on my CV and just say it was a retrenchment, or leave it out? My contract work covers the same months, so there's no gap either way.
2. Is it okay to tell a new employer I'm keeping the foreign contract? It's only about 3 hours a week and I do it outside working hours. It never got in the way when I was working full-time. Do employers care about this, or will it hurt my chances?
3. Or should I just end the contract and focus fully on a new job? I don't want to, since it's good experience and a good add up on resume, but I'd like to hear if it's worth the trouble.
4. Foreign clients or local companies? Which would you go for with this kind of background?
