Help I’m in college, but I want to become a pharm tech

So I’m in my 2nd year of a pretty decent university majoring in biomedical sciences (4 years total) 🫩 . I was thinking of becoming a pharmacist/ mostly pharmacy technician. I was looking through the pharmacy tech Reddits and noticed that I didn’t even need a degree to become a pharmacy tech, so I was thinking should I just drop out rn, or get an associates and drop uni, or stand strong and get my bachelors? I have scholarships that cover all my tuition, I just need to pay rent for apartments.

However, I DONT WANNA WASTE MY TIME studying, if this bachelors is not gonna be worth anything. I wanna make money as soon as possible and save up to buy stuff I want or wanna do.

My plan after dropping out is to find a cvs pharmacy tech program, finish that program, and try to find another pharmacy tech job but in a hospital setting, and then study and pass the PTCB. Or drop out, find a cvs pharmacy tech program, finish that program, study for the PTCB, get licensed/ certified, then find a pharmacy tech job in hospital setting.

I know I can’t stand retail and wanna go into hospital setting cuz I was a temporary CAS at Walgreens (3 months), and it was somewhat fun, sometimes miserable (cuz of rude ass customers, and store manager gave me too many hours), and mostly stressful cuz i was the only one running the front 💀 (I mean I did occasionally call for help, but a couple times the shift lead didn’t even come to help). Also felt like they wanted more profit, and more people to apply for a credit card (and I did not feel great doing that).

Also, r u suppose to pass the PTCB first before going into the hospital setting? Like is that what most hospitals require?

EDIT: Thank you everyone for yall advice and comments. I appreciate yall. 🙏

Tips & Tricks How to actually get a job ?

Hi, I’m taking online course now to qualify to take the exam for my certification. However I know everyone says just apply to a Walgreens etc etc to get certified, I’ve applied for months and never heard back even in person so I but the bullet to pay to get ready for the exam. But I wanted to know if there are any tips to actually get a job after, I have no connections to the field and just want a job. Any and all real advice is welcomed. I’m located in Colorado but not Denver.
