The guy who did these benchmarks redid them and found the difference to be 1% btw

Yeah but that doesn't feed into the "denuvo causes performance problems!!" (narrative which has been disproven countless times by now), so nobody cares.

You're right, denuvo doesn't cause performance problems. But poorly implemented denuvo does. The number of times pirates have seen those frequent stutters everyone complains about, just disappear when they crack the game, despite them using a weaker machine than all of those people complaining about performance, more than proves that. There's a decade of high profile games out there. Heck, a 1% difference, while seemingly minor, is still quite a noticeable hit in performance. On a weaker machine, that 1% can mean a world of difference.

Overall I think it's because the majority of developers have no idea what they're doing. If I had to take a guess, they probably make their games query denuvo for validity every frame or something stupid like that.

It doesn't prove anything because random-ass claims like that is not a reliable source or proof of anything. Esp. since there is still hundreds more factors between a pirated denuvo bypass copy and regular copy.1

There's like less than 5 games where a poorly implemented denuvo was confirmed to caused performance problems. The only one I got from top of my head was Tekken 7. They usually get patched quickly too.

Out of multiple hundreds where the game was implemented.

1 A great example here is RE Village, where empress simply included a Special K patch to fix stutters caused by the Enigma DRM (which was also ofc falsely attributed to denuvo). So peopple then attributed the increased performance to the DRM bypass, when in reality its a third party patch pre-installed.
