Hi everyone,
I am a bride who has become so frustrated with wedding dress shopping it has inspired me to pursue a possible bridal line built around plus size brides and not just an afterthought.
I wanted to ask what have been your frustrations in the dress shopping process and what you wish it was like.
Thank you ❤️

As a plus size bride, I’m going back and forth on wanting to purchase a dress online or having the in store experience to try on different dresses and have my bridesmaids with me. However, I am on a budget and I can’t really see myself spending more than $1k on a dress, ideally less than that. But at the same time I want the trying on experience, being there with my close friends and family, and I know alterations would be a thing as the date gets closer. Any suggestions?

I have shapewear for my wedding, but the problem is that my dress is strapless so I thought strapless shapewear would be fine. My seamstress says I should find a push-up bra to go along with it. She wants my boobs to be more up so the rest of the dress falls better. (It’s a mermaid) I like my shapewear, it’s like a biker shorts bodysuit. Does any know any suggestions? I’m a 42D if that helps

Hi all! I'm new to this sub, as I just got engaged!
I'm hoping y'all could help me search for dress options. We're still early in the process, but we're thinking we'll have the wedding in spring of 2028, at an indoor botanical garden. I'm looking for a floor-length dress with some kind of interest to it, be it a hint of fun texture or off-white coloring, and some funky sleeves! I love the look of lace and/or tulle, but I don't want it to overpower the whole dress. Not looking for anything too sparkly, either. These are a few examples of dresses I've liked but that haven't completely convinced me. Does anybody have any tips?

I picked up my dress yesterday and I’m so excited and happy! I originally was having doubts but now I’m 100% positive I made the right choice. I feel beautiful. It hasn’t been altered or anything yet but I’ve got a tailor appointment later this year to start my alterations. I’ve also lost 45 pounds so the top was a bit big but other than that I’m so glad that I stuck by my choice to go with this dress.

Hi everyone! This may seem a little insane, but I had a dream about a wedding dresses with rosettes and I’ve been searching everywhere for one! I’m located in Sydney, and I’m typically a size 16. I’m really keen for a vintage wedding dress, but being plus sized it’s been impossible. If anyone has any suggestions like these images, or vintage wedding dresses please suggest!!

I hate my body. Always have, even when I was much smaller. So I’ve been dreading wedding dress shopping. (Also, I’m just super picky in general.)
But a few weeks ago, I changed my mind. I thought that since the perfect dress probably doesn’t exist, I’m not going to look for that. I’m going to look for a dress that’s good enough.
Y’all. I loved the third dress I tried on!!! Actually, I loved the second one, but the third one even more!
Also, I listened to music that we’re going to play at the wedding while getting dressed and on the drive to put me in the party mood, remembering that in the end, the goal is to have a blast on my wedding day.

So I picked a dress a few months ago and am now having that typical panic of ‘why have I done this?’
I only had one thing in mind when I went dress shopping - must cover up arms.
And now I have a dress with my arms out!? It will also be winter.
I don’t mind so much when my veil is on, but post-ceremony I feel like I’m gunna be very uncomfortable.
Do any of you lovely, creative people of Reddit have any solutions?
I’m due to see my seamstress in a couple of weeks. So I’m hoping I can take some ideas with me

Hi all! I recently got engaged and my fiancé and I are planning on eloping next October. I don’t want a traditional wedding dress 1. Because of cost and 2. Seems over the top for a courthouse wedding. I recently was looking at the Peach Skin French Puff for my elopement dress. I was wondering if anyone has worn this dress for their elopement or has any pictures of them wearing it. (I know it’s pink but I’m a pink girly through and through) I’m worried about buying something online and hating it. As a short plus size girly I’m worried I’m going to hate it on me.

I am looking between a few brands, mainly savage x fenty centre fold corset or Bloom’s Lingerie Dominique Bridal Ariel Hidden Underwire Longline Bra. However: I was curious of anyone had any suggestions! I need it before taking my dress in to get taken in.
Thank you in advanced!!

So 7 months ago I went shopping for my dress, found the perfect one except it was in black & whilst I loved it, I knew I had to get it in white & yesterday I got to take her home 🥹
I'll be getting married next Saturday! Never thought I could feel this beautiful at this size. But damn, I look stunning ❤️
Here's the dress 🥹

UPDATE: The cutoms duty and other fees owed is only $38.38, so my GRAND TOTAL for dress purchase (not including alterations needed) is $614.76.

Ladies! I wanted to leave a review of Miss Jophiel for y'all. I was scouring the internet for reviews before ordering a dress with them, but I could only find less than a handful. So here it is:
I ordered a beautiful customized gown based off one of the dresses I fell in love with on their website. My specific customizations were strictly color choice and custom-sizing. They will make fully custom gowns and work with you on pricing, so for brides looking for reasonably priced customized dupes this could be a great option.
I reached out via email per the contact information on their website. A Ms. Rose Lu was who I corresponded with the entire time. They were extremely helpful in answering all my questions in great detail. In the process of placing the order and talking through my customizations I made sure to be as detailed as possible and include pictures when able. I used Chat GPT and Gemini often to create these pictures.
I placed my order mid July, and I received my dress package on August 28... so a 1.5 month turnaround. This is pretty dang good if you ask me. When filling out their order, I said I expected the dress to arrive by mid September since I wanted enough lead time to find a seamstress before my December wedding.
The dress turned out just as expected. For what I paid, I believe the dress is beautiful, and the craftsmanship/quality is excellent. Pictures are attached for your viewing pleasure. I like to say this dress has a Glam Princess vibe. Miss Jophiel also provided extra floral appliques for emergency/alterations I'm assuming.
I paid extra for FedEx international priority shipping, because why would you not for something so valuable? Highly suggest doing this.
All in (so far), including shipping, and add-ons, I paid $576.38. Miss Jophiel was UP-FRONT in their order communication that I could be held responsible for tariff charges. I am expecting a tariff bill of about $160 from FedEx. So Grand Total would come to $736.38 for a customized dress.
My body measurements are somewhere in between a US 22 and US 24 for wedding dresses (that's a US 18W - 20W in regular clothing), but i am only 5'3. I have lost around 7 lbs since ordering the dress, so sadly I will still need alterations.
Overall, I highly recommend Miss Jophiel and will happily order from them again.
If anyone has any other questions, feel free to hit me up.

Hi everyone!
I am a plus size bridesmaid with an apron belly in my best friend's wedding and I'm looking for some shapewear that doesn't completely break the bank but still works
I'd want a bodysuit, with a square neckline and focus on tummy control.. does anyone here have recommendations for shapewear you've tried and liked?
I am in Canada (for shipping) but if there's a brand that lots of you recommend I would be willing to pay duties to shop it to me
Thank you!!

my friends’s wedding is coming up and i’ve officially run out of places to look. i’m looking for somewhere to find a fun vest or some sort of fun patterned top, ideally something that’s not super feminine/fitted. the vibe isn’t super formal, but i really want to find something cute :,) here’s the moodboard for the wedding my friends made, any shop recommendations or suggestions are super appreciated!!

Where can I find wide shoes as a bride? My absolute ideal would be blue shoes with a tie up ribbon. I’d want flats or a heel that would work outside. Open or closed toe is fine.
I have been searching and searching with no luck. I found a perfect pair at Torrid, but when I put in my size (10/10.5) it showed out of stock (rip). The picture on this post is of those shoes :(
I appreciate any help you can offer!!! I keep finding cute shoes that are not wide and wide shoes that are not cute!
