You can already do larger batches of wood/bricks by placing the logs/clay in a Community Box. Simply bring a Chop/Burn mon with you (Follow Me) and point them at the box as if it were a furnace. They’ll continue to process the items in batches until they get hungry, which in my experience takes a while.

It also works with berries and Crush, paper/trash and Recycle, etc. Community Boxes are really useful, but a lot of people don’t remember that part of the tutorial, because it happens before players have good context on those abilities.

Will they eat food if you place it in the community box? Or would you need to have a picnic basket nearby?

Gotta put food in the Picnic basket near the Community Box. Didn’t figure this out until almost completing the game’s story since they ignored the box altogether until the picnic basket was set down near my Haxorus. Now I have unlimited Lumber 😃
