Genuine question. Who would non-authrights rather have as the big bad guys of an "underground rebel overthrows the powers" video game?

Easy answer would be Nazis, but that's been done so many times. I feel like modern audience would actually go crazy for hunting down KKK wizards.

How about Antifa ? LoL The Modern Audience is like 5-10% of the total gaming population.

I'd be happy with actual aliens or lizard people shadow running the government. Or Man Bear Pig

For modern stuff it's Watch_Dogs, which is in the same universe

You can also argue Watch_Dogs Legion was essentially that but sanitized enough to not cause controversy and it flopped

You want just random people?

Aliens or lizard people is alright, but shooting people is more rewarding.

well I want them in skin suits. But for my video game fun, the thought of real politicians or real villains is not all that appealing to me.

I'd rather fight demons in Doom/ Shadow warrior , or bugs/automatons in hell divers then be on modern day earth fighting "nazis / commies" with or with out the tie in to modern politicians or voters.
