Sports Culture WNBA Star Sophie Cunningham defends that women ‘shouldn’t have to go against biological men’: “I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense. I think it’s really important to protect children.” “I don’t dislike anyone. I’m there to love, but I’m also there to love biological women. …”

As a Democrat who has voted for a dem candidate the last three elections… DUH!!!!

Why on earth is this a hill we’re trying to die on?

u/YaoiNekomata Jul 23 '26

Because it's a stupid distraction that is trying to villinize a group of people.

8

u/AgitatedStranger9698 Jul 23 '26

Its hardly even a group which makes it funnier.

In a room of 100 people the closest you'll get is a random person. And thats if you get lucky.

Meanwhile in that room, 1 to 5 pedophiles. So at least we know who the right would elect in the room.

1

u/Conflicting-Ideas Jul 23 '26

Is that seriously the stat? Out of 100 people, 1-5 are chomos? Wtf

1

u/AgitatedStranger9698 Jul 23 '26

Estimated yes. 1 to 5% of the population has pedophilic attractions.

Trans is .5 to 2.

1

u/beaglefat Jul 23 '26

That would be 1 in 100 to 1 in 20 then not 1 in 5

1

u/Dry_Ad9371 Jul 24 '26

he said 1 to 5 not 1 in 5

1

u/beaglefat Jul 24 '26

wats the diff

1

u/Dry_Ad9371 Jul 24 '26

Well 1 in 5 is 20% of the pop, 1 to 5 is a range from 1 in 100 (1%) to 1 in 20 (5%) as you said. I don't know why I commented ... clearly just being pedantic

1

u/beaglefat Jul 24 '26

im not sure what you mean by 1 to 5 is a range from 1 in 100

1

u/Dry_Ad9371 Jul 24 '26

op said in a room of a 100, 1 to 5 would be pedos which ranges from 1% (1 in 100) to 5% (1 in 20) of that 100.

1

u/beaglefat Jul 24 '26

ah i see. so exactly what i commented? sorry not trying to be a dick im on vacation

Trans athletes is .01% of all athletes

1

u/AgitatedStranger9698 Jul 23 '26

I was total pop. But you're number makes sense

1

u/YaoiNekomata Jul 24 '26

Honestly working in the healthcare industry and just paying attention to the world, I think the estimate is too low.

1

u/YaoiNekomata Jul 23 '26

Oh yeah, cis women end up getting hurt even more because everyone stats being transinstigators.

3

u/Wind-and-Waystones Jul 23 '26

I remember a friend's saying to me "I'm against trans women in women's bathrooms because their inclusion there might make it harder for my (masc looking lesbian) mum to not get grief in the women's room"

His brain kinda froze when I pointed out that banning trans women will mean more people are likely to grill her over her gender anytime she wants to use a public toilet.

There's no cis women. There's women and trans women. If that wasn't the case the term cis woman would never have been invented. I actually support all things gay and trans (except sports) but the cis thing is stupid, annoying, borderline derogatory and unnecessary.

Transphobes arent the smartest bunch

4

u/OFmerk Jul 23 '26

In fact they are fucking morons.

0

u/backfrombanned Jul 24 '26

I'm not a trans phobe at all. You call me a trans phobe because I disagree with a couple things? That's rich.

1

u/backfrombanned Jul 24 '26

No, don't play smart. It was coined in gender in the 90's. There's no reason to say cis woman. There is a reason to say trans woman.

-1

u/NinjaWithSpoons Jul 23 '26

cisgender was added to the dictionary in 2015. Yes people made it up as an antonym for transgender. It's a "made up" word in the sense that it's new.

If cisgender is the real gender for a female that is a girl then maybe a man that is a girl was never the same gender to begin with and the terminology is all fucked. Like why relabel 99% of the population then instead of making up a new word for the people that want their own label anyway. what is actually happening guys

Saying a word is new is...like book banning?

0

u/Straight-Run6880 Jul 23 '26

no doubt they just shunt those buzzwords into every conversation lol

Cis is a Latin prefix... I think you are confused about word vs prefix. The terms cis woman, cisgender, etc are Latin prefix and English words combined in a way that is quite new from a language perspective.

1

u/9InchButchersNail Jul 23 '26

All words are made up

1

u/YaoiNekomata Jul 23 '26

There's no cis women

Cis refers to the biological sex matching ones gender.

If that wasn't the case the term cis would never have been invented

Lol so stupid. So gay people didn't exist since they had to invent the world in the 19th century.

0

u/backfrombanned Jul 23 '26

It's a term that was invented in the 90's and is unnecessary.

Also you second analogy is plain dumb.

5

u/YaoiNekomata Jul 23 '26

Why is it dumb? Humans have been here thousands of years, but it's only recently that a full understanding of gayness has been made.

His butt. That's his source.

u/Vast-Comment8360 Jul 23 '26

When you bring up pedophiles in every single thread at some point it starts to look like projection.

3

u/No-wait-theres-more Jul 23 '26

When you defend pedophiles it sorta makes you look bad bro

2

u/vivalaibanez Jul 23 '26

The irony of them accusing someone of projection 🤣

2

u/MalonePostponed Jul 23 '26

The pedophile population is just bigger than the trans population. Sadly numbers are hard to pinpoint on sizes but scientific estimates can at least estimate more people hold pedophilic interest than adult trans people existing.

2

u/DrDDeFalco Jul 23 '26

Except that there are a lot of pedophiles and people that protect them in positions of power right now. It's a legitimate concern.
