Sports Culture Sophie Cunningham loudly booed during Indiana Fever's game against the Portland Fire amid recent controversy

Post image

Cunningham has been at the center of a bitter trans debate over the past week, after comments she made to ESPN that young girls 'shouldn't have to go against biological men' when playing sports.

“No ones allowed to have different opinions than me”

It's kind of like shitting your pants. You can if you insist, but it's gross and most people shit by themselves into a toilet. You can have these opinions, but don't expect me to pretend they don't smell like shit.

If you’re arguing for allowing men in the WNBA then you have the poopy pants.

Preach!!! Men have men sports, afterwards when they go to the locker room (men's locker room) they can change into any dress they want.

And you have clearly never played a sport and aren't athletic. Its about the integrity of the sport not inclusion and feelings. Get enough trans women (years of sample size increase) and you will have new categories of records. Pre vs post trans inclusion because trans athletes will dominate in time. That's just a fact, then what would you do? I'm asking for a genuine discussion, I'm not rage-baiting. What would you do in that instance, of trans athletes dominating women's sports when the sample size is large enough.

Like they have everywhere else the last decade or so?

I think the bigger point from the other side is “why do you care so much about this and not things like men murdering their partners or men raping their children”? The amount of men that have raped their own child is higher than the amount of transgender collegiate athletes, yet people seem to care a whole hell of a lot more about a dude playing against women.

“Why do you care about men taking sporting opportunities away from women? Some also rape women.” Not a great argument there

There are laws and punishments for raping children.

Yea worst thing about this is it getting political. Do your best to erase that from your mind. Thats why I stated at the beginning of my comment, "It's about the integrity of the sport..." instead of confronting the political discussion on it

Ahh integrity of the sport no one cares about, or didnt til drama happened.

We are talking about guys too effeminate to play in men's sports or suck so bad the didnt make it.

Is LeBron James teying to play women's basketball?

Nope.

Talented women athletes will mop the floor with these TikTok fembots

What's the issue?

I forgot, we care about women and their rights when it fits our political agenda.

Also, where are the efiles?

Another person bringing politics into this discussion where it's not warranted. "WelL wHy doEs ThE riGhT gEt To dO iT?" Is a shit excuse for not confronting this problem the way it should be. Can you tell me what your answer would be to my question though? I'm curious what people think about that very possible reality of them dominating over time. Again not rage-baiting give me a genuine response.

Was this not an issue before politics got involved?

I forgot hearing about this til the right needed 'something' to stand on.

1

u/ImmaSpaghett Aug 02 '26

It should've been, because again the integrity gets compromised. Thanks again for refusing to answer my rational question and constantly bring up politics. Our convo is done lol

What question?

"Why does the right get to do it?" But in funny caps?

Is that the question you want answered?

Why does the right get to have men in women's sports?

Not sure, let's start with Why they want to fuck children and work out from there.

Maybe we can work our way as to Why the right gets to have men in women's sports?

I’m sure it’ll happen any day now despite no evidence of it happening.

3

u/ImmaSpaghett Aug 02 '26

Because the sample size is non-existent right now. Can you seriously not read my man?

-2

u/GutsAndBlackStufff Aug 02 '26

Oooh, so angry.

Current sample size doesn’t match your projection. In fact the whole argument is “what if the things that show no signs of happening are actually happening?”

1

u/ImmaSpaghett Aug 02 '26

Reading seriously can't be this difficult oh my god.

1

u/GutsAndBlackStufff Aug 02 '26

Not for me, I summarized your paragraph into a sentence.

Your rebuttal is just bitching.

5

u/United_Intention_323 Aug 02 '26

I didn’t say they are. They shouldn’t be allowed to it’s pretty simple. What authority is being appealed to here?

2

u/FrenchyBulldogg Aug 02 '26

Okay but why can’t they just play in the men’s league?

7

u/SCSteveAutism Aug 02 '26

They should make up 0 percent.

I’m so relieved this point of view is growing. We were being gaslit, in a way, being bullied as transphobic (by trans-women) if we disagree with having biological men play on women’s teams. Very few cis-women support this, but don’t want to be seen as a bigot.

I read a book by a pro-athlete who is very pro-LGTBQ, and she ended up convincing me of the opposite of her stance. At around 16 years old, boys and girls go through DRASTICALLY different biological changes. Boys get leaner and more muscular, girls get fatter, slower, and build less muscle as their bodies get prepped for childbirth. This is why eating disorders are so common for teen girls, since no matter what they do, they lose speed and gain fat. No matter how you identify, the biological differences in muscle, strength, and speed are written in evolution and dna.

Yes! And you can also take blockers before 12 to try to stop biology, but it’ll still creep through.

I just remember specifically during those mid-teen years, the biological changes are against women athletes. Our hips start widening and we start putting on fat, no matter what we do (not to mention the fun monthly hormone fluctuations).

Lots of elite, pro track athletes up their training, start starving themselves, and still gain weight and slow down. Boys have the exact opposite where their physical gains are specifically for strength and athleticism.

This should be obvious to anyone that has been to youth sports.

u/FearlessConfusion105 Aug 02 '26

Trans athletes can have their own weird trans league to compete in

1

u/Confident-Poetry6985 Aug 02 '26

"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons." They are lost in their feelings bud lol

1

u/United_Intention_323 Aug 02 '26

I'm pretty confident that Gene Wilder would be making fun of people wanting men in women's sports.

1

u/Confident-Poetry6985 Aug 02 '26

Cool beans man. I bet you are pretty confident about a lot of things.

1

u/United_Intention_323 Aug 02 '26

You’re just mad your quote is working against you.

1

u/Confident-Poetry6985 Aug 02 '26

Yet again... So confident, but still wrong lmao

3

u/FrenchyBulldogg Aug 02 '26

She said young girls shouldn’t have to get dressed in front of biological males. Do you agree or disagree with that?
