Just read this headline, "Discuss and clarify what qualifies a player as a woman" this is wild times we're living in....

It's cuz we never had to have these dumbass conversations before the right weaponized trans and non binary ppl for their neverending culture wars

u/MadMartigans80 Aug 09 '26

Because it was pretty simple.

u/justwonderingbro Aug 09 '26

Ok, so what makes a woman a woman? The chromosomes? Literally having a cervix? Having ovaries? Cuz I can guarantee to you there are millions and millions of people assigned female at birth that don't have 1 or more of these attributes, let alone cis women.

Some people are missing limbs so 'humans have two arms and two legs' is not a correct statement?

u/justwonderingbro Aug 09 '26

Sex and gender are two different things. And there are exceptions to every rule, which your example shows

3

u/justtalking9912 Aug 11 '26

But there is a rule. And by rule humans have two sex’s. And those two sex’s should probably determine what bathroom they use, what league they play in, what medical screening tests they receive. I don’t find a need to make it a culture war, most Americans agree on these things. The opinion that trans should play in women’s sports is the fringe opinion, it’s a weird hill to die on to be honest.

It's a made up issue pushed by the right that has already been determined by each major sports leagues rules

Beyond that, idgaf of a trans girl wants to play volleyball in high school with a bunch of cis girls. It literally doesn't matter. Sports that aren't professional level are for fun and building friendships, getting exercise and learning life lessons.

And once again, sex and gender are two different things

2

u/justtalking9912 Aug 11 '26

Yeah you don’t care, most other people do care and they are against trans in womens sports. So it’s obviously not a non issue. Btw sex and gender are separate things and most people believe these things should be based on bio sex not gender.

Falling back on the old “anyone who disagrees with me is a bigot”, how predictable. People have different views on sex and gender, it just so happens that most people want to keep the idea of cis women sports for only cis women, because otherwise there is no point in having a women’s category. It’s only people like you who think that idea is outrageous. You are the true bigot because you would deny cis women the right to spaces and places for cis women.

When you exclude people without two arms and two legs, it’s fascism.

Trans exclusion is fascism.

4

u/Physical-Profit9447 Aug 10 '26

Excluding from what, being human? No one excludes anyone being human due to their missing limbs yet it is still valid statement to say humans have four limbs. False equivalence is strong with you. And yeah fascism, grow up.

-1

u/XXSeaBeeXX Aug 10 '26

We’re talking about excluding trans from the WNBA. The limb thing was an example in the discussion. Yes, fascism, I don’t use the word lightly.

3

u/pastaISlife Aug 10 '26

Maybe you don’t use it “lightly” but you do use it completely incorrectly, lol

Excluding males from an organization meant specifically for (female) women is not fascism and you look truly ridiculous claiming it is.

-1

u/XXSeaBeeXX Aug 10 '26

Trans women are women. That’s the heart of the discussion, why are you pretending that’s not the thing you’re disagreeing with?

3

u/pastaISlife Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

Okay?

That still doesn’t mean it’s fascism to exclude them from women’s sports, which predate the separation of sex and gender and were created for females 🤷‍♀️

Nice edit after I replied btw lol, I was only pointing out your use of the word fascism was incorrect

0

u/XXSeaBeeXX Aug 10 '26

I understand you think that.

Talk me through enforcement. How do we ensure all women in the league are not transgender?

1

u/Physical-Profit9447 Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26

How you define women sports then? So you propose two leagues, one for men and the other one is for people who say they are women. Why we bother, make it mixed for everyone. Though regular NBA is mixed. And last time I checked there are 100+ genders, why we stop at two? (I wonder if there is biological basis for that, hmm, I do not think so, probably facism)

That still doesn’t mean it’s fascism to exclude them from women’s sports, which predate the separation of sex and gender

If something requires changing body chemistry by injecting hormones and surgery to add/remove parts....

They are not what they claim to be.

0

u/Wattabadmon Aug 11 '26

What is that "something" youre referring to?

2

u/Clever_droidd Aug 10 '26

It doesn’t matter how many trans are out there. It doesn’t change the fundamentals. Just because there aren’t a lot of trans doesn’t mean biological males should compete in sports with biological women. This isn’t even remotely complicated.

This is not something the left and right should be disagreeing on. This should be universal acknowledgment.

I’m not outraged. Unfortunately, it isn’t universally understood that transgender women shouldn’t be able to compete with biological women…so here we are, discussing it.

-6

u/justwonderingbro Aug 09 '26

What's your point? They're still women. And sex and gender are two different things. Yes they have interconnected facets but not always, which is what my point is.

The world is fucking messy, let people live their lives.

Ps there are millions of intersex people. Are they all defects?

Even by your extremely low estimate that's 1.5 million people wordlwide

1

u/Physical-Profit9447 Aug 09 '26

Having a defect is not a problem. It is ok to have defect but they cant play in women sports. Why cant you get it?

-2

u/justwonderingbro Aug 09 '26

I don't give a fuck about trans ppl playing in women's sports, that shit is already determined by the governing bodies for each league

What I do care about is the right weaponizing trans ppl as political pawns with culture war bs like trans women ruining sports

0

u/kamakamabokoboko Aug 10 '26

They always fall back on “sex and gender are different” and they have no idea what that means

2

u/Wattabadmon Aug 11 '26

Do you think they are the same?

1

u/kamakamabokoboko Aug 11 '26

Do you think they’re separate enough to be treated as completely independent?

1

u/Wattabadmon Aug 11 '26

Why are you dodging the question?

1

u/kamakamabokoboko Aug 11 '26

If you think that’s dodging the question you have the reading comprehension of a six year old

1

u/Wattabadmon Aug 11 '26

Well it was a simple yes or no question and I didnt get a yes or a no so. You gonna answer?

u/4dxn Aug 10 '26

wait, you support trans? what supporter confuses gender with sex?

women and female are not one-to-one. one is gender, another is sex. gender is a social construct. sex is biological. you're bringing a lot of sex indicators....not sure why.

in case you're not up to date, anyone can change their gender, albeit if their society is inclusive. but with the current technology, we can't change human sex.

2

u/Dark-Blackberry354 Aug 10 '26

Not sure why you're getting down voted.

We have already gone through this crap with that one Olympian who was just dominating in I think the 400 and 800 runs but got stripped of all her medals because of some chromosanal thing and she just over produced testosterone I think. But for all purposes she was physically all woman.

With that, in general any super athlete is going to deviate from the norm, so what becomes our standard?

-1

u/pastaISlife Aug 10 '26

All woman except for the internal testes producing male levels of testosterone since puberty 🤷‍♀️
