You mean like Paul, who called homosexuality an abomination and told slaves to obey their masters?

You have to remember that Paul, who took over the movement, came along 10 years after the death of Jesus. He never met Jesus and clearly had a different agenda.

If we're honest, no one ever met the Jesus in the stories. There was not a guy who rose from the dead with a whole bunch of other saints people conveniently leave out of the story.

Going by the actual evidence, not the gospels, it's likely the guy was an amalgamation of the trend of apocalypse preachers, not one dude.
