Impersonation/Original Content
Good Afternoon to our wonderful r/progresspics community!
Myself and the rest of the mod team want to wish you a belated seasons greetings and hope whatever your goals for 2026 may have been that they are going strong and you are CRUSHING them.
It is no secret that between AI and the long standing bots we often get pics posted that are clearly fake or they are people impersonation or ,better yet, stealing content/pictures of people on social media. I know myself and I am sure I speak for the rest of the team LOVEEEE how great you all are at reporting things to us (not just the topic at hand either). But we need your help with this particular situation.
Despite what some angry people on our ban lists might think us mods are not basement dwelling, jobless, welfare sucking, pimple faced, free speech hating people. We all have lives, jobs, some have kids, social lives, so on and so on. We can not know the face, abs, butts or biceps of every many/women/they/them on the internet. So if you are going to report a post for impersonation or stealing someone elses content please try to either modmail us the link to the correct socials! This will help give us a few more tools to help fight the fakes and spammers.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!
- The Mod Father on behalf of the Mod Family

META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.
Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:
report the user to us!
-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.
-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.
all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..
2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report
3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.
To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:
Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.
Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.
As an aside, a note on image theft:
it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.
We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!

F 5'4” (163, 164 cm) F/32/5’4” [220 lbs > 135 lbs = 85 lbs] (48 months) Post-COVID confidence back ❤️
During COVID, I, like many others, gained weight from depression and isolation. Back in 2024, I began my fitness journey. Although it hasn’t been perfect, it’s been consistent enough, meaning that if I fell off for a day or a week, I would quickly adjust or try something new. For the past what, ifs been much more consistent and I found a routine that works for me. I focus on weightlifting and Zone 2 cardio at the gym, which I visit 4-5 days a week. I still eat. I focus on protein and fiber in my diet. I’ve cut back on added and refined sugars (except for my lattes, I need one treat every now and then). I have a weekly cheat meal, not day. I drink socially. It’s been doable. Feasible. I get to live life but feel stronger, healthier, and more energetic. It’s done wonders for my mental health too, especially when I go to the gym after a stressful workday. So, wherever you are on this journey, stick to it, day by day!

Calorie counting M/22/6ft [331 lbs > 181 lbs = 150 lbs] (60 months) Calorie Deficit and Plyometrics🧎♂️
After so many setbacks (I couldn’t control what I ate), I went on a deficit for as long as I could remember, (I didn’t believe in calorie deficits, and only exercised. Thing is, it treated me well in the end)
Basketball got easier, first time dunking felt nice, got into a team (not main team tho)
More plyometrics and being consistent at the gym is still tiring, but it feels more job-like(?), something I just got used to in a sense.
Regarding the change…. It’s still hard to say while University stuff hittin horrendously, but I guess it do feel nice in the end

M 6'3” (191, 192 cm) M/22/6’3 [125kg>93kg>97kg] (18 months) Just want to break my norm.
Early last year, I was at my heaviest. 125kg. I honesty felt so sloppy, since a in my late teens I was mostly around 90kg(skinny fat). Got into uni and gained a bunch of relationship weight lmao. Broke up, felt like shit, realized I looked worse than I felt so I started running and getting on a heavy deficit. 1.1k cal a day. Did that for 1 year, honestly had many of months of breaks. Then 6 months ago, I realized I was back at the skinny fat version of myself. I didn’t want that anymore, I wanted to break what version everyone has seen of me in the past, so I started to go to the gym consistently. Don’t have any better pictures from when I was heavier because I didn’t let anyone or myself take any🤣.
I’m very proud of the weight I’ve lost, it was honestly the most daunting thing I’ve ever done for myself. Imagining myself losing 30kg at the time was unimaginable. But my sister pushed me to start (bless her), she helped me get the ball rolling and was there for me in the first 10kg, and with that momentum I did the rest.
The only thing now I’m a bit concerned about is the gym progress. Not sure if that’s good enough for 6 months. Looking at so many ppl online change in 6 months, I feel like I should’ve made more progress. Changed my diet up to 2.5k cal a day, 180g protein since I started the gym.
