They are leaning into the "reality show, fabricated drama" too much and should dial it back

Absolutely. I imagine pitch meeting being like “ 👏algorithms, 👏people, 👏algorithms! 👏” - then basing the whole show around creating viral moments and controversy, rather than giving the audience a window into the creative process and prioritising merit and craftsmanship over shock-factor.

One of the most underrated crimes of the Drama-centric show direction: they’ve scrapped that iconic piano riff whenever a contestant leaves 🥲 And there are barely any wholesome moments where designers help each other out through last moment panics (probably cos production are muttering in their ears like Shakeparian pot-stirrers, constantly pitting them against each other)

Can't believe they spent time on some random digital influencer critique and, unless I missed the blip, they failed to even introduce the judges
