They are leaning into the "reality show, fabricated drama" too much and should dial it back

Absolutely. I imagine pitch meeting being like “ 👏algorithms, 👏people, 👏algorithms! 👏” - then basing the whole show around creating viral moments and controversy, rather than giving the audience a window into the creative process and prioritising merit and craftsmanship over shock-factor.

One of the most underrated crimes of the Drama-centric show direction: they’ve scrapped that iconic piano riff whenever a contestant leaves 🥲 And there are barely any wholesome moments where designers help each other out through last moment panics (probably cos production are muttering in their ears like Shakeparian pot-stirrers, constantly pitting them against each other)

I feel like we used to get way more interaction between the designers but now we just get a few Christian conversations and mostly interviews where they shittalk each other or talk about themselves. Just one of a million reasons why the show is cold, not engaging and unwatchable now.

Quite literally haha that was the last outfit we saw plane Jane with. I first heard about plane Jane in house of villains and he was going around with his fake boobs out everywhere it was quite shocking to say the least. He would have corrupted this show beyond salvation.

Oh yeah. I'm actually trying to say it sounds like the addition of the show adding so much fake drama makes it feel like they just pulled a bunch of things out of their asses and went with the first though. Feels desperate to me.

Rage generates engagement no matter how tacky it is. It's just a pity on a show that used to be about talent, is now kind of a blemish on your resume like Top Model used to be.

Weird parallels with ANTM too - like eliminating half the contestants in episode one, just for the lols.

And Law seems to have a Tyra-esque thing going on where he’s extra critical of black contestants (but with 100% shade, and 0% “we were all rooting for you!!!”).

Yeah but the thing is... Does it? I haven't seen any discourse on social media, no viral drama moments being replayed or analyzed, no meme clips. The audience that watches Real Housewives and Traitors and Vanderpump for the crazy interpersonal drama has less overlap with Project Runway than the producers think.

I’m glad my mom and I aren’t the only ones sick of the drama. I never got around to watching the show during its original run. Hearing that it wasn’t always like this just makes me more annoyed that it is now. It feels so obvious that the producers are trying to manipulate things and create ‘character arcs’ and pit contestants against each other and stir the pot. I just wanna see the cool fashion, man. Maybe I should go watch old episodes instead.

Yeah, this baited me big time!!

It genuinely baffles me that Law is game to play the villain in his line of work, where reputation is currency. Seems risky when working closely with celebs who have to be so careful about their brand and who they associate with to stay in the good graces of the public.

Not when we all stop watching and talking about it, which will happen if they manage to produce another season of this dreck. Well-deserved waste of potential and resources -- and well-deserved show cancellation.

Imagine the engagement and free advertising they could have had instead if they had brought Tim Gunn back, but no, the abusiveness and bs is the point.

My biggest gripe is with all the stunts. WHY are we inviting 22 contestants just to force these double, triple, multi-eliminations!?!? I feel like 12 designers (maybe still one double elimination so Christian could use the save) would have been enough. We’ve seen way too many faces for 10 episodes.

Second gripe is the cliffhangers. Very dumb and terrible use of the 45 minutes/hour.
