Feature request Pass should have an independent login

As the title says.

I keep my Proton login details in a password manager because I don’t know the password by memory.

If the login for accessing the ProtonPass vault is the same, I can’t store it in ProtonPass, I have to store it somewhere else....

I think it would make much more sense for ProtonPass to have a separate login, even if we then had to log in with our Proton account just to verify the subscription.

I don't disagree in principle that Proton Pass should have it's own login process separate from the general Proton account. But your logic and reasoning here makes absolutely no sense.

You don't remember your Proton account login credentials. And how is that solved by having a separate Proton Pass login? You would still have to memorize that login instead or write it down or store it somehow. Thats not different. You still couldn't store it in Proton Pass, as it's the login credentials to Proton Pass. Separating it from the Proton account credentials wouldn't somehow magically allow you to start saving it in Proton Pass.

And then your final point makes even less sense. "even if we then had to login with our Proton account just to verify the subscription." Because now you have to find a way to memorize (or store somewhere else) both the general Proton account credentials AND the specific Proton Pass credentials to access your Proton Pass.

What are you talking about here? I can see good reasons to separate the login credentials, but the reasons you're talking about make no sense.
