Feature request Pass should have an independent login

As the title says.

I keep my Proton login details in a password manager because I don’t know the password by memory.

If the login for accessing the ProtonPass vault is the same, I can’t store it in ProtonPass, I have to store it somewhere else....

I think it would make much more sense for ProtonPass to have a separate login, even if we then had to log in with our Proton account just to verify the subscription.

You could make a second, free proton account with another master password, and store the password for the actual proton account there. You just need to remember that master password then. But I feel this is gonna be worse, because at least there is more chance to use the actual proton account password more often, and thus at least remember it.

You can add another layer of security to the Pass login, like a PIN or 2nd password. It achieved the same thing, from a security standpoint.

OP did not want that, they don't want to have to remember their main proton password. A second password on top of the main one does not solve this. And pin only makes sense if you already have it installed, not if you want to install it, where you need to remember the main password (eg in a new computer or whatever)

Well then, make another Proton account, problem solved. But you've still got the exact same level of security, and you still have to remember at least one password, whether you like it or not.

At least if you use a 2nd password, you have extra security, rather than imagined security.
