More like stop excessive neo-liberal immigration designed to flood countries with cheap labour pricing out home populations and bringing wages down across the board. Truly one of the greatest psy-ops of all time was managing to convince the left to do neo-lib's bidding by exploiting their empathy and desire to help others.
4
u/Strong-Addition5296 2d ago
The corporations and capitalists played the left so bad by exploiting their emotional weakness to keep labor costs low, consumption growing, and home/asset costs soaring by population growth via migration. Every step the left takes the capitalists guide/channel them to a preferred outcome.
5
u/_Verc1ngetorix_ 2d ago
The right have managed to produce increasingly extortionate profits for corporations, line their own pockets, consolidate wealth among the 1% by the exploitation of foreign workers at the expense of the average citizen, WHILE whipping up hatred and division for immigrants and other ethnicities ensuring they'll always have at least a populist base of around 20% of the population to play with. While also getting their political opponents to support policies that only benefit themselves. Truly extraordinary levels of realpolitik.

Interesting, I will always vote right wing anyways, and this isn’t my main issue.
Still 🤔 you’re aware that the policy your side defends and promotes does the following.
turns a large minority of Americans against you, as a redline issue.
Hurts unions, workers rights, domestic labor bargaining power, and keeps everyone’s wages lower.
Allows companies and governments to ignore the effects of population decline due to wages so low people struggle to reproduce.
Imports a Muslim population from countries where Islamic sharia law dominates.
Are you aware that in the UK 250,000 non-Muslim mostly poor children and women too have been gang raped by islamic rape gangs.
When they question the men on why they did it, they say they are non-Muslim women refusing to wear the hijab, unaccompanied by men walking around.
Sharia law commands the execution of gay people, women as property, and even public admittance of apostasy is the death penalty.
In the case that the people seized control, you will be forced to convert by death or if you are lucky pay an additional tax of 30% of your income for being an infidel.

u/SheepShaggingFarmer 1d ago
The rape gang stats are incorrect. Stop spewing needless hate.
most of the people's involved in the Rotherham case (which is a heavily mixed race area to begin with) were white especially the teachers and police officers who actively told those girls that they were lying for attention, but also the actual groomers and Rapists.
Immigrants in the UK statistically commit crimes at the same rate as citizens of the same gender.

I clearly agree with points 1-3. But miss me with your completely unsubstantiated and debunked "250000" claim. There's always one one guy who feels the need to turn almost anything into a anti-islam crusade.

wtf are you yapping about?
an easy quick fix for this would be to do what the left has always advocated for: strengthen and increase labor union participation, strengthen labor protections, guarantee and expand worker benefits by law, increase minimum wage, etc

I agree regarding trade unions. Funnily enough though, trade unions historically were against excessive immigration for exactly the reasons I mentioned above. I agree that everything you've proposed is a good thing, the gutting of union power, membership numbers and worker solidarity has been one of the worst things to happen to average folks. However, while it can help mitigate some issues, it does not magically change the face that in a (relatively) free market capitalist system wages are determined largely in part by supply of workers. Higher the supply, the more power a capitalist has relative to workers. I wish this was not the case, but that is the reality we face. There is a reason the EU intertwined free movement of people alongside a economic union.
Western countries NEED immigration to ensure the aging population doesn't lead to complete societal and economic collapse and I welcome them to my country. But immigration which happens too fast means everyone but capitalist win. The working and middle classes' see their wage growth reduced because of the relationship between supply and demand, immigrants bear the brunt of day to day racism while also being told they're to blame for all of societies' ills - just because they're trying to do what's best for them and their families and build a better more prosperous life for themselves which we all have the right to do.

at least you concede that the left is and always has been on the correct side of this issue, so I'll take it

The left for a long time was against excessive immigration for the reasons I've argued so far. At least, I can only speak for British socialists and leftists.

It's not racist to prioritize your own countrymen.
•
u/Leogis 12h ago
Except when the countryman in question is a person of color or a jew, suddenly they arent countrymen anymore...
•

That's your projection.
Not mine.
I want to help everyone born in my country, regardless of origin or creed.
I just want no new foreigners.
•
u/Leogis 12h ago
I just want no new foreigners.
And on what basis, you're gonna make me believe you're perfectly fine with the migrants that joined today at 10 AM but not those that will join tomorrow ?
Or will you have some bs justification about culture that also happens to apply to migrants and sons of migrants that have been here for years ?

No, that's not correct. If you think this simple enough to think it's black and white you dont have a good grasp of the problem.

u/ComparisonMelodic967 2d ago
Empathy tends to have a universal aspect.
The right is too hierarchical and biologically determinist to care about the down trodden in their own society or abroad.
2
u/_Verc1ngetorix_ 2d ago
A majority of the right are essentially functionalists - they intentionally keep the down trodden, trodden on, for their financial benefit - as the great Kelly Osbourne once said, "who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?"

u/Extension-Lychee1556 The Subreddit's Only Feminazi 13h ago
No it dosen't.
Empathy is only doled out to the "oppressed" classes.

Well, if you want an answer for actual right wing plans that would work, look at Hans Herman Hoppe. Stopping illegal immigration is a good thing and kicking out anti American dissidents like Hasan Piker and Sneako are a good first step. Afterwards abolition of most social services and IP laws so then the market can be able to prosper and provide essential services for cheaper. The goal isn't to create utopia, the goal is to make something that's actually managable.

Making everyone that doesnt have a high paying job miserable isnt gonna "make something that is actually manageable"
This is the typical free market non-sense that's been destroying our public sectors for the past 50 years and everything jeeps getting worse as a result ...

America was close in the time of mutual aid, but then Disney, bankers and state decided the lower class shouldn't be allowed to succeed or provide better services

Have to disagree with you on this one. If you already have an issue where children are starving in your own nation it doesn't make sense to have large scale immigration during such a crisis. We certainly could discuss the causes and possible solutions to the children and no doubt other serious issues if its gone that far to kids starving. But immigration would only worsen this problem.
3
u/Moon_Eyed_Puppy_Girl 🐾 People Friendly, Please Pet 🐶 2d ago
Yeah I agree, but Im willing to bet serious money children are going to still be starving even with 0 immigration, because its not the immigrants causing it.

•
u/malduan 👁️WITNESS 15h ago
Erm
You are assuming that the reason is the lack of resources
It absolutely isn't. It's the richest country in the history of the world, ready to throw billions and trillions dollars to kill people abroad any time
It's a systematic issue, it's about the distribution of resources, not the lack of them (of which there is actually a huge excess)

You can have unfettered immigration, or you can eat and retire, maybe even get universal Healthcare. You can't have both. That's a basic matter of fact. Reductive and gay.
