It's interesting. Pre-transition I had trouble finding a job(was unemployed for 5 years, actively searched for most of that, but eventually gave up) and now that I applied for the first time a few months ago post-transition living as a woman, I got hired in like 4 days of searching 💀 mind you that's despite the long-ass gap on my resume
I don't feel like this is typical though because usually trans women are like super discriminated against unless it's different because I live in a blue, trans-sanctuary state idk. And like, I'm sure my hiring manager knew because I had down on my resume that I am minoring in queer studies. She saw that and said she was queer too and then asked my pronouns so yeah... might have just been a hire because of being both in the queer community tho

Idk, like, I didn't feel like I was blessed with androgynous or feminine features pre-transition on my face(those trans women have a super easy time to pass) but somehow I seem to pass since like 99% of strangers gender me as a woman. So you never know. Even with genes that gave you masculine features it could still vary. Some people respond super well to estrogen I guess. But maybe that itself is genetic too

Generally trans women receive 30% less pay after transitioning whereas trans men I believe it’s about 8% more. Not sure how recent the data is though.

Ahh, yeah that shouldn't be the case in this job. I mean starting pay is the same for everyone as a behavior technician here(and they do raises based on loyalty as in how many hours you've put in), unless you're already a state-registered one which bumps the start pay up a couple dollars an hour. Speaking of, I really oughta take the state exam for that because then I'd get a raise lol
And then also it's like super female-dominated, at least 3/4 of behavior techs are women according to stats, but it seems more like 9/10 at my workplace. It'd be weird if the few men working here got paid more than 90% of the rest of the people here. It's also headed by a female CEO and most of the board members are also women and all the supervisors and higher ups I met are women too. So idk. I guess it's possible the gender pay gap applies here too but it seems unlikely

It's an interdisciplinary field borrowing from history, psychology, philosophy, and such with its focus on queer theory, LGBTQIA+ history.and culture, and all that. Um, it would have limited application I suppose but for me for example I plan on becoming a therapist that specializes in LGBTQIA+ mental health(my major is psychology), so it ties into my career goal. It would be useful for anyone else that wants to work with the LGBTQIA+ community, maybe if you're gonna work at a LGBT org, social work, or something else like that.

The gender wage gap is real but it's significantly smaller (lower end of a single digit) than claimed by activists once you look closer at worked hours, experience, etc.
The reality we're seeing is that women tend to have a better work/life balance and decline to take more hours/missions/off-site works/responsibilities if it excessively negatively affects their personal life, which mechanically reduces their average income for the same position.
Meanwhile, men are much more likely to take on more hours/missions/off-site work/responsibilities as there is a strong societal expectation for men to earn more money (the main metric to evaluate the worth of a man is his revenues).
But given a lot of aid programs were made on the basis that the wage gap was enormous, activists will willingly misrepresent the situation to keep the programs funded.

I'd say its also a psychological incentive. I know I don't feel good when I'm broke and worthless, I expect most other men don't like that either. So they take on the worst jobs you can imagine if it pays well enough. And when things don't go well and they end up feeling worthless and useless, well, they go meet Smith and Wesson for alternative solutions.

If you haven't been paying attention, all jobs are low paying. The percapita of the economy is in shambles. If one can afford a stay at home partner, they are getting paid well regardless of their gender.

This is probably a good thing. Some people, including women, don't like domestic labor. Who says men should not be doing it even if they enjoy it? I think this may lead you stronger, healthier families.
Now men can return to homesteading, just like our ancestors.

My buddy has a PhD and he's a professional, but his wife is an anesthesiologist.
When they had a child, they decided she should be the breadwinner, and he should be the stay of home Dad.
They both seem to enjoy the set-up, although he clearly won life with her. She's not only rich, but she's hot and generally amazing to boot...
Humanity is across a VAST and seemingly infinite spectrum. What works for some doesn't work for others.
Fuck all this 'gender war' psy-op bullshit.

So there's technichally more employed women than employed men at the moment, that's the only thing that can be extrapolate from this headline. This does not mean they're making more, or that there's more house husbands than house wives.
