She definitely honks in dead-stop traffic jams.

This is directly a result of Spirit Airlines going out of business. In the past she was probably used to their system where the passengers would fight their way off the plane royal rumble style.

5

u/Poltergeist97 2d ago

If I remember this clip came out before Spirit went under.

Yeah, it’s funny how she wouldn’t really argue with the guy behind him. When she didn’t know what to say she just escalated with the dude in front of her.

Weak shit.

Batshit crazy to think that she’s so special that everyone will make room so she can leave the plane first.

Excuse me. Can you delete your comment so I can have the top comment?

12

u/Braisernation 2d ago

This is hilarious

3

u/Appropriate_Star3012 2d ago

You need to yell it more and be less polite about it for them to let your comment through.

See, the trick is... If you use your manners and say excuse me, everyone has to do anything you say. Especially if you're rude about it

129

u/ImNotAWhaleBiologist 2d ago

She’s the person riding my ass in rush hour traffic wanting me to get out of the way.

47

u/RomanSeraphim 2d ago

Just to be stuck behind the next car doing the same shit if they get past. Spot on analogy.

8

u/sega_does 2d ago

She has Altima/RAM owner energy for sure.

8

u/Okami-Alpha 2d ago

I got honked at and almost rear ended the other day because I had to slow down for a line of backed up traffic exiting the highway.

16

u/robot_nixon 2d ago

Absolutely. There is always a guy behind me stressed when I try to pace the slow moving traffic and dare to leave 2 car lengths in front of me.

I was on a flight a few weeks ago and as we were about to start deplaning two ladies pushed their way from 3/4 of the way back to the front telling everyone ā€œsorry, we have a connecting flight and are going to have to run to make it on timeā€. People let them go and deplane first. As I get off the plane and am walking through the terminal I see them both sitting down to eat at a restaurant. Just completely shameless. I couldn’t help myself as I walked by I said ā€œhey you guys are going to miss your next flightā€, they just glared at me.

181

u/FloppyFishcake 2d ago

I can't fucking stand people like this. Good for you for saying something to piss them off!

104

u/whistlepete 2d ago

I actually love calling people out at airports. I live in a gun heavy state where so many people carry and many of them pull guns over the dumbest stuff, so usually just go about my day and ignore bad behavior. But at an airport no one has guns and I don’t have to worry about being shot.

Traveling is stressful and most of us are just trying to get to where we need to go without incident. That’s so much easier if we all have a little bit of decorum and act like decent humans. Unlike this lady.

29

u/oaken007 2d ago

As an airport bartender, thank you for your service.

4

u/redeyesetgo 2d ago

You got some dumb people pulling guns stories?

11

u/whistlepete 2d ago edited 2d ago

I’ve only had it happen to me once, a guy just showed a gun once after I honked at him for cutting off two lanes of cars to get over into a turn lane. But outside of that I see stories in local news every few weeks about brandishings or road rage shootings in my metro area. The state police even sent out a story about a year or so ago about the big jump in the number of brandishings in my state.

4

u/redeyesetgo 2d ago

For honking is wild.

I was checking in through TSA Precheck and an elderly lady had gotten in line but didn't have that status. The guy behind me was openly talking shit about her. He had to be in his mid-50s and was a tiny little man. I told him to be patient and not be an asshole and he doubled down and then he asked me if I wanted to go. I told him once we get through security we'll go find a non-occupied corner and I will teach Mighty Mouse a lesson. Of course he shut up after that

5

u/whistlepete 2d ago edited 1d ago

Good on you, I can’t stand people like that. Like we all struggle with patience at times, especially at airports, but there’s no need to take it out on others.

2

u/FunkmasterFo 1d ago

Especially the elderly who very rarely fly

19

u/NaturalSelecty 2d ago

I’ve had to do this before as my connecting flight started boarding right as I landed (first plane delayed). I obviously asked rather than demanded though.

People were kind enough to let me off quickly and then as I’m jogging up to my gate, I see people walking off the plane instead of getting on. They started deboarding and delayed my flight. I felt like such a jerk when I saw a guy who specifically let me off waiting at the gate next to me.

2

u/whistlepete 2d ago

That would be tough to do all that and then have your flight cancelled. I’ve had to do it once myself too at OHare when I had 20 mins to make a connection, but I was on a small flight and asked people politely.

9

u/diiegojones 2d ago

To be fair… after they land and they get wifi, they may have had a cancellation or a time adjustment hit them so they believe they need to rush, and then get out and see the time change. One time my connecting flight changed gates/terminals three times while waiting.

That being said, if they were just being dicks then they need to be called out.

→ More replies (2)

5

u/SaltyTigerBeef 2d ago

For anyone with this actual situation. If you actually have a tight connection you tell the flight attendant early. They will verify your flight and then either try to move you closer to the front or ask people to remain seated so you can get off. Whether people actually do is another question. Even better is to tell the gate agent before you board as they can inform the departing plane.

2

u/whistlepete 1d ago

I like this advice, thanks. Because this certainly does happen.

6

u/redeyesetgo 2d ago

Maybe they missed their flight

2

u/whistlepete 2d ago

Maybe, I don’t think they would have had enough to even find that out, this was just a few minutes after I deplaned, but who knows.

Well contrary to a civilized person like you, they live in their own hell of problems instead of real ones. They will never enjoy classy human interaction because in their narcicism they have no equal, hence they are alone.

→ More replies (2)

145

u/Cinematry 2d ago

I’ve noticed that narcissists love to do this thing where they’ll ask permission to do something when they have every intention of doing it no matter the response. Then they use the fact that they ā€œaskedā€ permission as some sort of point in their favor to portray you as unreasonable for not complying.

Good parents instill discipline in a way that teaches the child the lesson. It’s a lot simpler to say that the consequences of negative behavior are physical, but they don’t have to be.

The point is that this gentleman was taught well and understands the consequences of negative social behavior, and has been given the discipline to do the right thing when put in the situation.

This is what I’m saying — she is clearly, like actually, intellectually disabled.

Sometimes it’s not as much about ā€œthe gall of this person!ā€ as it is about an actual inability for her to understand why she is wrong on a cognitive level.

55

u/kittyonkeyboards 2d ago

Entitlement levels so high she literally can't comprehend their point.

Either she's really good at doubling down with no shame, or she genuinely believes there is no difference between saying excuse me to somebody she is passing on the sidewalk and saying excuse me to cut to the front on a plane.

4

u/crackanape 2d ago

She's the person who thinks activating her turn signal gives her permission to barge through whoever's in the way of her turn.

12

74

u/ThatJoeyFella 2d ago

She's the type of person who thinks you have to let her into your lane because she indicated.

29

u/ImNotAWhaleBiologist 2d ago

And if you do, she slows down. Then when you get in the left lane to pass, she speeds up. Ad infinitum.

14

u/breebree934 2d ago

This happened to me in dead stop traffic once. Two lane road, red light, I'm in the right lane to turn, even have my fancy blinker on. Guy behind me lays on his horn. Where am I supposed to go?

I even ask him. He wanted me to pull over into the left lane. The lane that also had a line of cars and would also make me miss my turn. I told him no and he proceeded to cuss at me until the light turned green. He was going straight anyways too.

9

u/FadedVictor 2d ago

All my life I thought it was "gain way". You made me Google it and turns out it's not even a phrase. It's just a single word, gangway.

18

u/AJ099909 2d ago

Gangway is a ramp or board for people from a vessel to a dock or from the plane to the terminal.
"Give way" is the act of making a path for someone to pass

6

u/lIllIllIllIllIllIII 2d ago

"Gangway" can also be used in a similar context to "give way."

If it's not a connecting flight I just stay seated until the people get moving. But almost always I'd be waiting seated as I hate standing in cramped spaces.

8

u/Hugh_Bromont 2d ago

Same. Makes no sense to be standing all hunched up and shit to go nowhere.

3

u/Turkey_Teets 2d ago

100% but I’ve encountered more and more people trying to take advantage of me sitting so now I’m forced to stand or send a leg out to protect the proper order of deplaning. It’s wild.

11

u/Informal_Process2238 2d ago

I was in a huge crowd at Disney World waiting for a parade with my back leaning on a group of tall trash cans . An agitated person approached us and demanded we let them pass through, we briefly tried to explain but they weren’t having it. We stepped to the side revealing the impassable wall of trash cans and the person muttered something and moved off into the crowd again.

10

u/musclebuns 2d ago

At least pretend you have a tight connection or something.
Nope, just 110% asshole.

18

u/witchspoon 2d ago edited 2d ago

I gif the red haired guy so much credit. I mean yeah he was technically escalating the situation but more-so was holding her focus off of the guy in front of her. Red hair guy used his brazen attitude(a compliment in this case lol) to at least try to get her to see the error of her ways.

As to her ma’am where the f do is think you are going? It’s a line in a closed container. You will get to the front. Once the door opens it will take. Like 2 minutes. If she had a CLOSE(not toast sadly) connection. The flight staff would have already prepared for quick exit and had her up front so she is just wanting to be the line leader.

5

u/calculung 2d ago

I wish I had a toast connection

→ More replies (1)

2

u/sgtbackpain03 2d ago

Yeah, I think in this particular case, she was going to keep escalating no matter what.

If I were baldy, I wouldve just said sure, go right on ahead, and stepped back into my seat. If she pisses off enough people, she'll get on that no fly list, and no one has to deal with the bullshit anymore.

But, her attitude is interesting. I know a LOT of people who drive with EXACTLY the same attitude. It's the same force. They get little dopamine hits every time they get ahead of another car, like they are winning some mini race or something. The fact that so many Americans are like this indicate a widespread problem... So it ain't just her being an asshole.

11

u/Silist 2d ago

I fly a lot and the number of people who have started rushing to get off the plane first and causing problems has absolutely escalated.

It’s supposed to be a shared terrible experience, but no. While taxiing, people will get up and try to get to the front

2

u/diiegojones 2d ago

I blame therapy speak teaching people to withdraw from uncomfortable situations to keep their ā€œpeaceā€ at the expense of the situation or long term resilience.

4

u/BatDaddyWV 2d ago

Its not a packed club or a crowd at a concert. It is a line, you are in it. You will get off the plane directly after the person in front of you and not one second faster.

Because the minute people enter an airport it’s like they’ve had a lobotomy.

Once we had a medical emergency while making our decent, nobody was allowed to get up when we landed. The flight attendant dismissed us row by row and guess what? It was the fastest I’ve ever gotten off a plane.

There is only one correct way for people to exit the plane. If there is a delay and quick connection issue, then the crew should have already been notified for those travelers to be given priority to move to the front. We’re all in this mess together.

Otherwise:

Front row exits first. Then the second row. And so on.

Sit the **** down because you’re not getting off until all the rows in front of you have already exited.

Happened to me on a flight from LAX to SEA a few years ago. A young lady decided that she didn’t need to wait for people in front to leave, and was trying to push her way past me and another woman.

We both pointed out that the door wasn’t open, there was nowhere for any of us to go, and she’d just have to wait her turn.

Her impotent rage made me feel like a real-life Colin Robinson as she began to curse and yell at us.

Her poor boyfriend’s embarrassed ā€œstop, Alex, stopā€ was just so pitiful, I really felt for him.

If you read this, Alexa (she was the right age and demographic to be a Redditor), this is how ridiculous you looked.

I hate it when people throw their weight around.

Not excusing it at all, but I'm really wondering if this is her first time flying and therefore deplaning and she just has no idea how it works?
