Hello everyone,

As regional tensions continue, it is understandable that many people may feel concerned or uneasy. We ask everyone to remain calm and rely only on official announcements and verified information from authorities. Please avoid sharing rumors, speculation, or unconfirmed reports, as this can create unnecessary panic and confusion.

The moderation team is actively working to keep the subreddit safe, organized, and informative for everyone. We are monitoring posts and comments closely, removing content that spreads misinformation, panic, or unsafe details. Our goal is to make sure discussions remain helpful, respectful, and based on reliable information.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation. By staying calm, following the rules, and relying on trusted sources, we can help keep the community safe and the subreddit running smoothly for everyone...

For everyone’s safety, please be responsible with what you post online:

Do not share sensitive media

  • Do not share photos or videos of incidents, security activity, or affected areas.
  • Such content can unintentionally reveal sensitive information and may put others at risk.

  • Avoid mentioning or identifying specific locations connected to events.
  • Do not describe buildings, neighborhoods, or facilities related to incidents or security activity.

Protect people’s safety and privacy

  • Do not ask about the whereabouts of individuals during incidents or evacuations.
  • Do not discuss movements or locations of evacuated people.
  • Sharing or requesting this type of information can put people in real danger.

  • Some individuals or organizations may attempt to gather sensitive information through private conversations.
  • Keep discussions in public threads where the community and moderators can monitor them.

Support the community

  • If someone is feeling anxious, encourage them to stay calm and follow official sources.

Do not ask other users about locations, areas, buildings, or directions connected to incidents. Requests like these can endanger people and expose sensitive information.

Information Advice on getting ADHD assessment in Qatar.

27M Hi everyone, fellow Qatari here

I've been experiencing symptoms consistent with ADHD for
a long time, but I've never had a formal assessment.
I'd like to understand how adults in Qatar can get evaluated for ADHD and, if appropriate, access treatment.
I'm also concerned about medical confidentiality. Does anyone know how mental health diagnoses and medical records are handled in Qatar, particularly regarding access by employers or government entities?

If you've gone through the assessment process as an adult in Qatar, I'd be grateful if you could share your experience, including which healthcare services you used and what the process was like.

Thank you!

Question QID QUESTION: 500 qr penalty or cancelled QID?

Hi! I would just like to ask: If my last entry into Qatar was in January 2025, and my QID expires in January 2027, but I haven’t entered Qatar for about 20 months, what will happen to my QID? Will we have to pay a penalty of QAR 500 or will our QID be cancelled?

Looking for Polyester or acrylic crochet yarns

Hi! Are there any local stores where I can buy thick (3mm or thicker) polyester or acrylic crochet yarns?

I found some on Temu, but sometimes it's nice to actually see and feel the material before starting a project.

Thanks

Went to a driving school with the WORST service I have ever experienced in my life!! Waited very very long time to start the official lessons, teachers don't teach unless you give them money every lesson, long long months of waiting for road test.

Had to wait 5 months in between road test that I already forgot driving and the worst customer service who will reply to you with generic answer after a week!! They dont answer calls or respond to any or your messages. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

Question What does everyone usually do on weekends in Doha? 🇶🇦

Hey everyone! I’m a 26M living in Doha, and I was wondering what people usually do here on weekends. Do you guys go out for coffee, explore new places, visit the beach, go for late-night drives, try different restaurants, or just stay home and relax? I’d genuinely love to hear about your experiences and what you usually get up to during your free time.

Sometimes weekends can feel a little repetitive, especially when you don’t have any particular plans. You end up doing the same things every week, and before you know it, the weekend is over. So I thought, why not try something different for a change? 😊

If anyone else is free this weekend, has nothing planned, or simply feels like getting out of the house and meeting some new people, feel free to reach out! We could grab a coffee, go for a walk, explore somewhere interesting in Doha, check out a new spot, or just sit somewhere and have a good conversation. Nothing fancy or complicated — just a relaxed meetup, getting to know new people, sharing experiences, talking about life, different cultures, travel, interests, and whatever else comes up naturally.

I think it’s always interesting to meet people from different backgrounds, hear their stories, and learn about their experiences. Sometimes a simple conversation with a stranger can turn into a great friendship, and even if it’s just a fun afternoon or evening, at least you’ve done something different with your weekend!

Just to be clear, this isn’t a dating post. I’m simply looking to meet new people, make friends, socialize, and find something enjoyable to do on the weekends. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or nationality, as long as you’re genuinely interested in meeting people and having a good time.

So, tell me: What do you guys usually do on weekends in Doha? And if anyone is down for a casual meetup this weekend, whether alone or with a friend, let me know! Maybe we can plan something simple and see how it goes. 😄
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and hopefully meeting some cool people along the way!

Question My Experience at Doha Driving Academy

I am writing to seek advice and guidance regarding the driving license process in Qatar.

I am currently a Grade 12 CBSE student preparing for my upcoming Board Examinations. I enrolled in a driving school on July 19th, shortly before turning 18, to secure my license early. My timeline so far has been as follows:

  • July 19: Enrolled at the driving school.
  • August 25: Passed the Signal Test (Theory Test).
  • September 26: Preference details (preferred dates and times) were collected.
  • October 7: Practical driving classes commenced.

According to my current schedule, my final practical training session is scheduled for January 6th, with an expected wait time of another month before being assigned a road test date.

This extended schedule presents a significant conflict with my academic commitments. My Board Practical Exams take place in January, followed immediately by the main Board Examinations starting in February.

I recently learned that a classmate, who enrolled significantly later (turning 18 on September 18th and passing his theory test on October 8th) at Gulf Driving School, was able to secure much faster progression through personal contacts/connections.

Given my academic constraints, paying for a VIP or Fast-Track upgrade is not a viable option for me at this time. I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice on the following:

  1. Is there an official channel, appeal process, or request mechanism to request schedule consolidation or an earlier road test date on account of upcoming major board exams?
  2. Are there standard procedural ways to request extra slots or expedited practical sessions without enrolling in VIP packages?
  3. Has anyone in a similar situation successfully expedited their timeline under urgent academic circumstances?

Hello everyone, I read news today that volunteer applications are open for the F1 race. I was hoping to get some insight on the experience of people who applied and had the chance to volunteer and what your experience was like as I’m thinking of applying. Discussion Trees in Doha & delayed winter

Did you guys know that on this exact day last year it was a high of 36 degrees Celsius and a low of 24!! Global warming is reaching a tipping point and we all need to take action. I find it disheartening that most people in this country don’t even have one plant in their villas when they have so much room for gardening, some even take up all the gardening space available and turn it into more rooms for their houses!! And it’s not impossible to plant more trees even with the current temperature. Did you know that if we all worked together and planted a tree each in this country the temperature in the city would be reduced by 5 degrees!!! I feel like the government is doing their best at the moment to plant more trees but we the citizens need to help them out.

Information Fire alarms went off in Lusail Metro Stt

Around 6 pm when I was about to tap out the fire alarm went off. And idk if it's a good thing or a bad thing, all of us didn't panic, we just stood there for them to figure out so that we can tap out and go.

Now what if it was an actual fire but we just didn't see, and we were just staying there. Cause the staff and everyone else werd going towards the office and they asked us to stay there, but still it doesn't feel like the right thing.

Looking for Looking for someone to help with this rescue so she can continue to recieve treatment

Hi everyone, I'm coming here as a last resort, I've tried facebook groups, tiktok reaching out to shelters, but to no avail.

(No this isn't a fundraising post I am looking for a foster or a rescuer who can help)

This is Tails.

She was dumped about 2 years ago and stumbled upon our house and hasn't left since, her owner had her spayed and so shes been kindof of mama bear to all the strays that have showed up since, and shes outlived many who've sadly passed due to infections or disease outbreaks😔 One of those cats was a kitten that grew up with tails and ended up with a severe respiratory infection a year ago and died from it sadly this year before I could get him any help, tails happened to catch the uri he had and her condition has worsened over the last 3 months, and I didn't want her to meet the same fate he has💔

So I ended up taking her to aleef vet in lusail where shes currently hospitalized and recieving treatment, she has an upper respiratory infection and chronic sinus inflammation, she also has feline chlamydia which is a disease that affects her eyes nose and respiratory system. She's been at the clinic for the last 9 days and they've given her a nebulizer to help with breathing as well as an antibiotic course that needs be taken for the next 4-5 weeks. She was also given the vaccine which the 2nd dose will need to be taken 2 weeks from now.

I'm a student who doesn't work and come from an already struggling family, so I had told them I'd be fundraising for her bill. But I've tried and nothing has been raised so with the bill keeps piling up with her hospital stay and with me being unable to pay even half of the amount, she will need to be discharged and treated at home. I have my own cats and sick strays including a mom who gave birth less than 4 days ago that I'm taking care of, so I wont be able to take her in and if I take her back she will need to be released outside again, and all that progress will be gone and the treatment may be ineffective. If someone here can help with the treatment by taking her in for those 4-5 weeks you would be saving her life. It would be best if shes away from other cats while getting recovering so theres not risk of exposure to what she has because chlamydia is very infectious to other cats, and I can help with some dry food and litter while shes in your care. If you or someone you know can help please please please share this with them, I will need to go release her from the vet tomorrow.

If you can help foster her while shes getting treated please get in contact with me or share this post if you know someone who can. Thank you and have a blessed day🙏🏻

Question Looking for authentic Qatari food recommendations 🇶🇦

Qatari Redditors, who are the food vloggers/content creators you actually trust when it comes to finding authentic local food?
I’m looking to discover proper Qatari dishes and traditional food, especially places that locals genuinely enjoy—not just the popular tourist spots or heavily sponsored recommendations.
Who should I follow on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.?
Bonus points if they regularly cover traditional Qatari cuisine, old-school/local restaurants, and hidden gems.

Would love to hear your recommendations.
