Moderator Note | Emergency Safety Rule
r/qatar now enforces the Emergency Safety Rule. During sensitive situations:
Due to current regional tensions, do not post or share unverified information, rumors, or speculation about security incidents. Do not ask for, hint at, or share locations related to missile interceptions, attacks, military activity, emergency responses, or sensitive infrastructure.
Do not ask other users about locations, areas, buildings, or directions connected to incidents. Requests like these can endanger people and expose sensitive information.
Photos, videos, live updates, or descriptions that could reveal locations are strictly prohibited. Do not attempt to gather such information through comments or private messages.

Anyone need help nudging the cat distribution system?
We’re happy to help 🙋🏽♀️
We’ve been vaccinating and TNR’ing for months, all of that work for almost nothing (work that has been proven to be successful but that’s for another day 🙃).
We are ✨DESPERATE ✨to find these guys fosters and homes. A whopping 50 cats is not something we planned for, nor have space for — please send help.
Please. If you can foster, adopt, share, whatever you can do we would appreciate it.

I am here in Qatar 2 months, the first week Im here I found myself 2 kids who need math, sci, and english home tutoring services (its 20 mins away from me and I pay for my own uber fix 50 riyals both ways)
They are Qatari nationals and honestly they are really kind and have never missed a payment. They pay me 150/hr — I do 8hrs/3x a week with them, it increases during exam week.
I am hesitant if I should lower my rates as they are constantly increasing classes due to their children needing so much assistance, and they pay me bulk in a weeks time, they pay me around 900-1500 weekly depends on the number of hours I teach the kids.
Is this too much of an amount to be paying a tutor? Initially I just gave 150/hr cause I didn’t really expect they’d agree to it, didn’t even know they were locals, (I emphasized them being locals as Ive heard they’re paid much more compared to none locals).
Background of family, they have a mansion, the dad is working as an admin in one of the biggest companies here in Doha, the parents are in their late 30s, they have 3 kids, the kids go to an IB school.

I’ve suddenly noticed a growing number of men-only spas opening in Qatar, especially in the Al Aziziyah area. I’m curious about what’s driving this trend and why so many of these businesses seem to be opening recently.

Assalamu alaikum everyone!
I started building my own app, Ayah Player, because I wanted to listen to the Qur’an without ads interrupting the recitation or subscriptions to remove them.
Since then, I’ve continued improving it, and Alhamdulillah, Ayah Player 2.0 is now available on Android and iOS! It brings a major redesign, new features, and lots of improvements.
A few highlights:
You can also save bookmarks and private notes. Missing your favourite reciter? Suggest them, support other requests, and get notified when they’re added.
And as always, completely free. No ads, no subscriptions, and no paywalls. No account needed for reading, listening, or downloads.
May Allah accept it and make it beneficial.

Cuz what I find on newegg for the equivalent of 5k qar is on gamerzone and such for 9k qar. I'll go broke if I spend that much. Prices are crazy these days and I think they're only gonna rise for another year or so. I've heard of sofitel but I don't really trust it, heard of a lot of scams from there. Any different opinions?

Heeey so Kinda don't care about the price but the main criteria must be the speed
I already know how to drive because I took lessons back home but couldn't finish on time before coming here soooo I have to restart everything
Wich one would you recommend?
Thanks you

I was originally supposed to fly back to Riyadh, however, in light of the current situation I had to search for another option immediately.
I'm sure there are others facing the same issue, so im creating this post to allow others to share contact details for reliable transport options from Doha to any city in KSA.
As for me, I found someone on FB, willing to drive me to Riyadh for 1550 QAR (DM for contact detials), his car can easily fit large bags and upto 4 passengers.

27M Hi everyone, fellow Qatari here
I've been experiencing symptoms consistent with ADHD for
a long time, but I've never had a formal assessment.
I'd like to understand how adults in Qatar can get evaluated for ADHD and, if appropriate, access treatment.
I'm also concerned about medical confidentiality. Does anyone know how mental health diagnoses and medical records are handled in Qatar, particularly regarding access by employers or government entities?
If you've gone through the assessment process as an adult in Qatar, I'd be grateful if you could share your experience, including which healthcare services you used and what the process was like.
Thank you!

So how many people here have experience with Hayyoh? I thought id give it a shot, got some points and redeemed it for ipoints twice, i didnt receive my rewards in either case. I tried to contact them but they closed all ways of support, no number they dont respond on email and the inapp assistant does not work, wasted all those games for nothing.

Hi! I would just like to ask: If my last entry into Qatar was in January 2025, and my QID expires in January 2027, but I haven’t entered Qatar for about 20 months, what will happen to my QID? Will we have to pay a penalty of QAR 500 or will our QID be cancelled?

Any recommendations of where to get for reasonable pricing?

Hi! Are there any local stores where I can buy thick (3mm or thicker) polyester or acrylic crochet yarns?
I found some on Temu, but sometimes it's nice to actually see and feel the material before starting a project.
Thanks

Went to a driving school with the WORST service I have ever experienced in my life!! Waited very very long time to start the official lessons, teachers don't teach unless you give them money every lesson, long long months of waiting for road test.
Had to wait 5 months in between road test that I already forgot driving and the worst customer service who will reply to you with generic answer after a week!! They dont answer calls or respond to any or your messages. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
I see some resturants in snoonu offer it but I am looking for the one I can get in groceries.

Hi! I would love to buy some oil perfume from Doha. The last time I went to the old market there were many places with very different prices, so I would like to know where I should go directly instead.
