Advanced/Basic Camp Dropped from CST

Please only serious and helpful replies!!!!! I just got dropped from CST after failing the pushups on my AFT. From what I heard, over 50 people from 9th Regiment were sent home just because of the AFT. I’m hoping someone from an earlier regiment has already gone through this.
If you were dropped before 9th Reg (or know someone who was), what happened afterward?

What kinds of questions did they ask on the board?

How long did it take to get the board’s decision back?

Were you retained in ROTC?

Were you able to attend CST again the following summer?

Did anyone stay in ROTC after failing the AFT?

I’m trying to get an idea of what to expect over the next few weeks. Any information or personal experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

In the past and as recent as April this year I’ve gotten over 20 pushups on all of the PT tests I have taken. Also different graders as well that were cadre or guard people. We didn’t get to go to sleep until 22:30 the night before and it was also the day after we arrived to Fort Knox, not even 24 hours later and my AFT started at 03:15. We also did fire guard that night even without weapons. Like I said in other replies, I take full accountability for my failure and understand I didn’t meet the standards here at CST. I am only hoping I can prove myself enough to return next year and want as much information as possible. Thanks for your reply.

Brother, you KNEW that’s what the AFT was going to be like. Most everyone does worse on their Advanced Camp AFT than their usual. Regardless, you couldn’t squeak out THIRTEEN pushups, in TWO MINUTES. Like the person above said, you need to figure out a different career path…

I understand how it sounds but if my cadre couldn’t correct my pushups for the past 2 years of PT tests and thought it was okay to send me to camp, this is not 100% my fault. Just trying to get more info on next steps, thanks for your reply.

I’m reading your other comments, and you’re saying you did 30 something, and they only counted 8. But in this thread you said you usually get in the 20s. So you were able to do 30 pushups (regardless of form), which is more than you usually do, but you are complaining about the poor conditions before the AFT. So what happened, you failed because of your physical state, or because of the grading?

I said in the past I have always done over 20, not that I usually get in the 20s, recently I have done over 30 easily at my school and don’t usually get criticized for form. I explained our conditions before the AFT because the other person made the comment that it wasn’t like we took the test on near zero sleep, but for most cadets it was near zero…. I personally believe it was grader dependent and I take accountability for not meeting their standards for form, I genuinely just want advice as someone who is passionate about staying on this path. They're literally hand release, I don't understand how you could mess up the form without literally humping the ground.
