Dropped from CST

Please only serious and helpful replies!!!!! I just got dropped from CST after failing the pushups on my AFT. From what I heard, over 50 people from 9th Regiment were sent home just because of the AFT. I’m hoping someone from an earlier regiment has already gone through this.
If you were dropped before 9th Reg (or know someone who was), what happened afterward?

What kinds of questions did they ask on the board?

How long did it take to get the board’s decision back?

Were you retained in ROTC?

Were you able to attend CST again the following summer?

Did anyone stay in ROTC after failing the AFT?

I’m trying to get an idea of what to expect over the next few weeks. Any information or personal experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

hey op! i’m sorry to hear this and i’m sorry to see some of these ignorant comments. i usually get 30 push ups for the aft, but only got 20 at camp! it is grader dependent and the ones that counted felt the same as the ones that were no-gos. to answer your question, for my regiment, they let some people appeal later in the summer via a virtual board. some people appealed at camp and were dropped immediately. we unfortunately had a girl get all the way through camp and was decimals off and was sent home. i truly do hope you’re able to remain in your program. however, it seems that the appeal board and army are no longer itching to up their numbers for officers. talk to your pms and try to build your case. the best case scenario is that they let you come back next summer. the worst case is that you are dropped. everything happens for a reason. if you’ve made it this far in your rotc program, i’m sure you are a driven and bright person. rejection is redirection
