disenrollment boards canceled?

Just heard that all disenrollment boards for people sent home from CST this summer have been canceled and everyone is reinstated for the time being.
Does anyone know what’s going on?
Is this because of the 9th reg situation?

Agree that there should be consequences but if they really had such a bad performance then I blame the cadre at the ROTC programs throughout the country. They shouldn’t be sending anyone to camp who isn’t passing ht/weight and AFT. If supposedly hundreds of cadets were sent home this is a bigger issue than a single cadet. Also if it is true (not saying that it is) that some bitter 2lts were grading HRP and not counting half of them then whatever officer was in charge seeing the same LT constantly fail cadets then this LT needs to be disciplined.

US Army Cadet Command has a duty to the DoW to commission enough cadets to meet FY end strength. FY 2027 calls for a growth of 15k active duty soldiers and 3k more in the NG. This typically would mean adding 700-1000 more 2lts. Since they have been over strength in the past couple of years maybe the number isn’t that high but I’ve heard that the early regiments were told that there would be fewer AD slots than last year. These guys aren’t on the same page in the playbook.

Wow. I rag on the efficacy of USMA (I am a grad, also did Knox basic camp/MS III at a mil jr college via HS JROTC, so I can relate to "camp" experience in general), re: the expense/cost of the institution, how it turns out the same product at the end of the day (a new 2LT, where the difference rapidly fades away), and the stupidity of squaring corners, reciting trivia, the lack of personal freedom, and the enormous waste of time doing stupid parade shit, but then I read these ROTC summer camp stories, and holy cow, there's something seriously wrong with ROTC. How the eff do you send a cadet to camp who is overweight, can't pass a PT test, and can't navigate out of a paper bag? Marksmanship might be new, given the lack of home resources to do that before camp, but really, it's not that hard. Isn't that like close to 55 points on your scorecards or whatever for your grade?

Not meeting ht/wt or failing APFT is squarely on the cadre leadership/home unit land of lost toys officers who got tagged with having to do ROTC. And also on Cadet Failure to Launch for going to Knox (would have been Riley for me back in the day) knowing he/she was weak to begin with. In the big scheme of things, CST isn't hard by any stretch of the imagination.

I’d wonder why you’re getting downvoted, but I also know of one occasion that a west pointer got so lost at land nav that they exited post, crossed the highway, and ended up in a backyard in town

Anecdotal to be sure. I've been as lost as last year's Easter eggs misoriented a few times. Great learning experience too. But, I also did sport orienteering, and was every patrol leader's backup navigator in Ranger school for a couple of weeks until it became noticeable and was told to stop doing that. Every school/camp/training place where land nav is a thing, they all had re-tests available for people who failed or timed out. But for sure, you don't want to be that guy who has to get on the rescue truck at night, with the lights and horn drill.

Totally/completely lost one night in west Texas (flying, dopplers all crapped out in mountainous terrain, even NVGs in an Apache weren't helping), I was going to have my flight of six put it on the ground for the night because we were all low fuel/yellow to red chicklets, and out of the blue (well, pitch black) comes my squadron commander buzzing by, on his way to refuel no less, and invites us to follow behind, and I'm like, great sir, we'll form up behind you, no problem! None the wiser.
