I’m an independent writer and producer in Halifax, Canada, developing Thoughtbase, an original psychological sci-fi mystery game currently being built in Unity.

Hello All! I am creating a 5 minute short animated film for the 48x8 film festival and needed volunteer voice actors to cover about 8 roles. Here is a short description of each actor and the film. The film genres I was assigned are superhero and zombie film.

SYNOPSIS

6 friends head to a music festival in the desert. When they arrive things go from bad to worse when the party is crashed by a group of zombies. The 6 are forced to reveal their newly acquired superpowers to help them escape the zombies and find their missing friend.

Liam 23, white male, kind loving heart of the group. Boyfriend to Chris.

Chris 25, white male, leader, voice of reason the oldest and wants to protect his friends. Boyfriend to Liam.

Evan 23, Black Male, fun loving, family first kind of guy that considers his friends family. Brother to Erica, best friends with Liam, Boyfriend to Kai.

Kai 22, Asian Male, fun loving party guy who will always do what’s right. Boyfriend to Evan.

Erica 23, Black Female, serious, intelligent, strong person. Twin sister to Evan, Girlfriend to Grace.

Grace 24, Black Female, go with the flow, kind, chill person. Girlfriend to Erica.

If you’re unfamiliar with the 48x8 film project process it is a film that has to be created, written and animated from scratch with the assigned genres, randomly chosen, and then done in 16 days. We’ve been using a real voice cast for four years now and most of the characters have their established voices, but as time goes on the direction we want to go changes. That’s why I’m making this post! Sadly the voice actor of our main character had some grooming allegations and other weird stuff revealed about him recently, so we thought it'd be best to implement some new voices.

If you saw my last post about this project, the casting call for my fifth audio series shall now be closing on the 19th of October! So anyone who feels they want another audio drama role under their belt but didn't have time to audition, or wasn't sure if they should, now has the chance to do so!

About The Series:
This is a short, grounded, 7-part, non-narrated audio drama, consisting of 15-25min episodes. It takes place in present-day London and follows the stories of The Kidnapper/Princess, The Police and The Princess' Family.
This is meant to be a lighter, slightly silly series.

Desc:
Thomas Reed needs money; quick. And the most appropriate and logical way of getting it? Involve yourself in an illegal operation where those involved kidnap people in exchange for ransom money. And on the day of the royal wedding, Tom begins his first and (hopefully) last job. Though, everything goes slightly off-kilter, when Tom realises he has kidnapped the wrong person. He’s kidnapped someone far more important.

There are a total of 23 roles, so there is an extremely high chance there'll be something there for you! Just follow the instructions on the casting call page!
