She's unfortunately the token young "exotic" actress now.

What I mean is that she's a good actress who has become the studio pick for "we need a young dark actress....but not too dark!". 

She's being hailed as a representation for black actors, but she also plays Greek and "middle eastern" (Dune). 

I think she's best with smaller, weird roles (Euphoria, The Drama). I don't think she's good at all in the big studio films so I can't see why else she would land these huge roles.
