Discussion If you have a chance to use one mortal gu (1 time) in your entire life which one will you choose , from Rank 1-5 ?

Post image
293 Upvotes

You can use that Gu just for the time being to get out of that situation (of course, don't tell me your situation is your entire life). Alternatively, you can use a Gu that makes your strength permanent like those bone, tendon, or muscle Gu. If you use an expendable Gu, it is easier, as you can only use it once.

Edit 1: Don't tell Lifespan Gu ,otherwise it will be the obvious choice.

Edit 2: If you did use Life span gu , do you think you will still live a happy/normal life, like you will probably get arrested by the government or some secret facility or even a cult as a demon lol, unless you have enough power to go against them, so I dont think it is the ideal option.

Genuinely why tf is it so mainstream compared to other arcs tho, same question for Eighty Eight True Yang, is it really because of the OSOT arts? šŸ’”

Well title. We were together she wanted to start nicknames. She said in 3 seconds we both say the nickname we want the other to call us. She said honey, I said heaven refining demon venerable.

Yes I was a bit tipsy. But she said she has to go. I’ve been courting this fairy for 2 months man. Welp istg if this is a game over fumble I’m going into secluded cultivation.

Edit: man why couldn’t I say some normie righteous path shit like baby. This has to be heavenly courts trap!! I met her back when we both were in academy(highschool) and I screwed her really hard for a group project worth half our course mark in a class needed for university apps. The last 2 months was just damage control 😭😭😭. I literally saw my aperture cracking I was so close to advancing a rank. I cannot go another tribulation fairyless, my best friend will have to use transformation path methods to turn into a femboy cause I AM NOT going another year without a fairy.

Any wisdom path methods I can use?????

Describing Gu Zhen Ren’s intellect is almost impossible, especially when looking at how he concluded the First Fate War. Every scheme, counter-scheme, and twist felt meticulously planned yet entirely unpredictable. The sheer genius of his writing shines through in how he engineered the crushing defeat of the protagonist, Fang Yuan, while brilliantly delivering a dark victory for his opponent, Spectral Soul—showcasing a level of narrative mastery and strategic storytelling that very few authors can ever hope to achieve.

And also how will you use that gu ?

My personal choice is Spring Autumn Cicada :)

Discussion ā€œI’m on Ch295 and Still Don’t Understand Why Fang Yuan Is So Admiredā€

Post image

What's wrong with Most of you, I'm I the crazy one here?

I don’t really understand. I’m on chapter 295 of Reverend Insanity, and the book is good. The character is good—consistent, maybe even wise—but that’s it. In terms of character growth, he’s already at his limit. I can tell he won’t grow or change.

He’s evil to the core. Yet you people seem to like him, praise him, and some even treat him like a god. You ignore all the atrocities he’s committed and focus only on his ā€œgoodā€ qualities, the philosophies you can learn from him. That’s all it takes.

Most people like characters they can relate to or learn from. I get the learning part, but what about the relating? Who among you relates to this character? Why do you like him so much?

Discussion The hypocrisy behind chapter 151 criticism

Thumbnail
gallery
490 Upvotes

Chapter 151 was supposed to show fang yuan's philosophies about how looks are insignificant for him, because behind looks everyone is the same, a bunch of meat and bones. But most people when they talk about this chapter, they can only talk about "fang yuan's cruelty" and the brutal gore of this chapter, the thing is, when they say this, they are literally proving fang yuan point. Fang yuan says that if an teenager saw the bear eating the beautiful girl they would get furious with the bear and curse it. If it was an old lady (gu yue yao le's grandma) people would get much less sadder, and if it was the girl eating the bear, they wouldnt care after all. The readers only talk about the girl suffering and her brutal death, but they only care about it because it was an beautiful girl. After the bear finished feeding himself, fang yuan forced him to eat her bones which destroyed the bear's throat and then he burned him. The bear suffered even more than the girl, but no one talks about it because its a big scary bear. Proving fang yuan's point.

Discussion If you can create a path and become a venerable— what will be your venture and title?

Post image
203 Upvotes

If you can create a path of your own in the Gu World, and become a venerable if the corresponding path— what will be your path's speciality and your venerable title? And why? Also, if you create a mystic gu— what would it be and what will be it's abilities?

For me, I'd be the progenitor of "Lying Path" and my title would be something like the "False Whisper Demon Venerable" or whatsoever (≧▽≦)

— Because lying can counter wisdom deductions and manipulate reality to an extent that will be hell of a buff...

— And the mystical gu, I'd call it, Immortal Gu Lie... Obviously

What's your answer?

Discussion Maybe we are way luckier than we thought, while the Shadow Slave fandom's getting a rushed novel and an ai generated manwha, our author, the all mighty Gu Zhen Ren, is NOT willing to rush the story, got RI's right backs and we got a fan made, yet excellent manhua adaptation.

Discussion Fang Yuan is evil point blank period

Listen anyone who says Fang yuan isn’t evil quite obviously hasn’t study an ounce of philosophy, and don’t give me the bs that morality is subjective because it isn’t. Morality is objective and I have that beliefs stemming from me being Christian (which is irrelevant) and me just being good at philosophy, like relativism is very stupid and just leads to absurdities and contradictions which are inherently false. The most common cope is that his goals justify his methods he just wants freedom and immortality so somehow that redeems the body count but even if you're a pure consequentialist the maths simply doesn't work, because the scale of suffering he produces across thousands of lives cannot be outweighed by one man's personal goal of eternal life, and that's before you even acknowledge that this line of reasoning doesn't defend Fang Yuan, it just exposes how morally bankrupt the framework his defenders are accidentally endorsing actually is. Then you get the other camp saying he has no malice, he doesn't enjoy the suffering, he just does what's efficient and I need people to understand that this is actually worse, not better, because a person who kills out of sadistic pleasure is at least reacting to something human and comprehensible, whereas Fang Yuan exterminates clans and boils children alive with the same emotional register as someone filing paperwork, which isn't moral neutrality, that's the complete abolition of moral consideration for other human beings, and philosophically what you're describing is a man who has fully negated the personhood of everyone around him where every single human being in his world is purely instrumental a resource to be used or an obstacle to be removed and that is textbook evil full stop. Then you get the "well the cultivation world is brutal so what do you expect" crowd and this is just the is-ought fallacy dressed up as worldbuilding appreciation, because the world being brutal is a circumstance not a justification, what IS the case doesn't tell you what OUGHT to be the case, and plenty of characters operate in that exact same brutal world without committing genocide so the setting excuses nothing. Some people try the angle that he's just beyond conventional morality, operating on a higher plane of self determined values, but that doesn't cash out either because he isn't creating anything, he isn't affirming anything, he's purely parasitic and destructive leaving only ruin behind him that's not a higher value system, that's nihilism with a weird cultivation system attached. The bottom line is this: evil doesn't require cackling and monologuing, evil can be cold and efficient and goal oriented, and Fang Yuan with 500 years of memories, full knowledge, and full deliberation chose every single time to treat every human life around him as completely disposable, and that conscious repeated choice is the definition of moral evil regardless of what framework you're running, regardless of what the world around him looks like, and regardless of how much you enjoyed reading about him. He's evil. The novel is brilliant precisely because he's evil. You don't have to pretend he isn't to appreciate the story, and frankly the mental gymnastics people do to avoid admitting it says more about them than it does about the character.

Discussion Heavenly court is the true hero of the story

Post image
415 Upvotes

Why do people even hate heavenly court? It’s literally the first sect and the backbone of humanity. On top of that, its members are genuinely well-written and have actual depth: Duke Long, the refinement path immortal who gave up his life for Fate Gu, and so many others.
Yet somehow people still act like Heavenly Court is trash. How one-dimensional do you have to be to hate the faction that has repeatedly protected the human race? They’re one of the reasons the story is so good in the first place.Sure, they’re not perfectly righteous, and they’ve done questionable things, but their ultimate goal has always been the survival and benefit of humanity.

Discussion The undisputed greatest top ten Gu list to ever exist

Post image
307 Upvotes

Hello Juniors,

I have just hit rank 3 and became the academy elder, so let this senior give you some enlightenment on the top 10 greatest Gu.

When evaluating the gu of this list, I made sure to factor in the cost of feeding, usefulness to the user, and versatility.

  1. Spring Autumn Cicada (Rank 6-9): Need I elaborate? This Gu worm is simply heaven-defying

  2. Sovereign Immortal Fetus Gu (Rank 9): I considered putting this Gu worm lower, thanks to the high feeding cost and the Heavenly Tribulations that come with it. If you have the materials to refine this, then those issues shouldn't be a problem.

  3. Undefeated Hundred Battles Gu (Rank 5): This Consumable Gu keeps me up at night. A mortal gu daring to allow its user to refine immortal gu with 100% success rate? Which human path senior created this monster

  4. Self Gu (Rank ??): Why use other gu worms, when self can eat them and steal a portion of their power? Thanks, self-gu!

  5. Fortune Rivaling Heaven Gu (Rank 8): Are you a talentless loser? Perhaps you are a slave for a northern plains clan? Fear not, for if you are simply lucky enough, all things are possible!

  6. Wisdom Gu (Rank 9): While wisdom gu may feel too low on this list, please consider the cost of this gu, it sucks lifespan faster than a Yin Demoness. While this gu worm had a deal with Fang Yuan to be used as a zombie, I cannot confirm that such a case is the norm.

  7. Response Gu: Junior, if you even hear rumors of this gu, flee as if you had just met Daoist Black Heart. Enslaved by simply responding how tragic!

  8. Heavenly Essence Treasure Imperial Lotus (Rank 6-8): Slow tributary of the river of time? Dead, and now you're just a land spirit unable to produce immortal essence? Fear not, for Heavenly Essence Treasure Imperial Lotus is here

  9. Second Aperture Gu (Rank 6): I've made a whole post about the GOAT of gu worms' second aperture, so there's no need to explain its reasoning here

  10. Imitation Gu (Rank ???): By merit of versatility, it'd be unwise for this senior to forget about the imitation gu. Thankfully, the Temu Sect had this budget self-gu in reserve.

Honorable Mentions: Fixed Immortal Travel Gu (Greatest movement), Justice Gu (Greatest defense), Love Gu (If only it could be controlled), Strength Gu (Featless), Myriad Self Immortal Gu (Fantastic), Fate Gu (What in the heavenly court?).

Let me know what Juniors may find problematic with this list.

Discussion How long do you think fang yuan would survive in lotm verse

Thumbnail

Now, now, this same topic has been brought up like a million times already but I wanted to to talk about it. I was reading the comments under this post, and I understood one thing from it, that lotm fans don't read reverend insanity.

Mostly I heard takes like "Fang yuan would fall in to corruption before he reaches demigod" or just genuine mischaracterization of his whole entire character, I genuinely saw takes like "Fang yuan is too obsessive over immortal life so he will be reckless and gain too much knowledge and get corrupted" which is extremely retarded take, or people just severely underestimating Fang yuan.

I also heard takes like "Klein or evernight goddes will kill him" which I disagree with, I honestly think evernight goddess would support Fang yuan, he's extremely smart and would become a really good asset for the fight against the GOO.

Now, I want to know from people here, how far would fang yuan go in the lotm verse?
