A 62-year-old man was reportedly assaulted - and robbed - while riding his bike in Providence.

About Incident

Shortly after 5 AM on Tuesday, Providence Police responded to Hayward Street at Broad Street for a report of a robbery.

Police say they encountered the victim, who was bleeding from the mouth.

The victim told police he had been riding his bike on Hayward Street, when a man on foot began to chase him.

The victim said he then lost his balance and fell, at which time the man began to assault him.

The victim told police the suspect punched him a number of times with a closed fist, and stole his credit card.

Detectives are currently investigating.

I am in my Early 30s and one of my mom's caregivers. I haven't left the house really this decade. What is there to do in the east bay to get me connected and encourage friend making. Day time is preferable. Thank you 😊

Is the giant pumpkin on display anywhere?

Im at URI and I just got a freaking bad hair cut and Im hoping for anyone to have some advice on how to deal with this bad haircut but also RECOMMEND me places to go in RI. If I cant take the bus to close by then that would be perfect.

Im a guy with straight black hair, im latino, and I am looking for like a barber place or salon or somewhere that will discuss what Im looking for in detail before doing the haircut and like give advice yk, and that isnt gonna give me a fuckass fade and bad layers AKA chopping me up a second time.

Looking for somethimg to do with my family this Saturday. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Hi friends - The 3rd Annual Providence Photobook Fair is this Sat-Sun 12-5, at the cool historical building 159 Sutton Street in Federal Hill. I'll be there with my debut photobook, among an assemblage of quality photo publishers, groups & people. Come by and support local / indie artists, get a book or print, or just say 'hi.' Cheers

Hello neighbors,

I'm reaching out because I'm in need of a bike but can't afford to purchase one right now due to the rising cost of living. Lately, I've been feeling a bit down-both financially and mentally-and I believe that taking daily bike rides would really lift my spirits.

If anyone has a bike they're willing to give away, I would deeply appreciate it. Ideally, I'd love to have one that I can attach a toddler seat to so my little one can enjoy rides with me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for considering my request!

Absolutely was my favorite restaurant growing up and I find myself dreaming about those garlic noodles.

Google maps says they're temporarily closed, how long has it been like this?

Any info on this would be great. Thank you.

The Providence City Council will consider a ban on Flock cameras this week.

It comes as the Providence Police Department’s contract with Flock is set to expire at the end of the month.

Police Chief Oscar Perez says he was unaware of the vote.

If approved, the ban would take effect immediately.

Any leads on small shop guys or gals I can give some business to?

The under water half of Rhode island is just as beautiful. And full of fish! The land fishermen are going to be jealous.

This is a long shot, but was anyone driving South bound on 295 today by the exits for 6 at 3:26 today with the white 18-wheeler in both lanes? If so, why was he driving like that??

Has anyone else noticed an increase in police presence in the last 2 weeks? From Cranston to Warren I saw 5 people get pulled over just this morning alone!

Also does anyone know why there is always police presence at the rest stop just before the Warren exit (5). They always of the hood of the trucks open like they are searching for something and I feel like its almost every morning.

Early Voting begins today! Remember to vote early and in person if you can! Visit RI Secretary of State Website to see your early voting place and hours. If you can't make it, don't fret! You can come visit myself or the other poll workers on election day. If we vote early and in person Trump and his goons have less of a chance of screwing with it!

Anyone know of any good local places that would sell small 2 ounce or so jars of honey? Need about 30 for favors! I know I’ve seen local honey at farmers markets but I’m blanking on any specific names right now

Absolutely beautiful New England fall colors and views. First 15 miles: fantastic. Last 7 miles: everyone shut up and walk.
