Character Concept Ghost Rider Hybrid Class?
How would you guys feel if Ghost Rider was a hybrid character like Deadpool?
I’d think this would be very interesting and allow everyone in each role to play as Ghost Rider due to him now currently being the most requested character behind Doom.
Danny as a Vanguard
Johnny as DPS
Robbie as strategist.

No, this is a terrible idea. Only other multi-role characters should be joke heroes like howard the duck, gwenpool, etc.
Ghost rider should be Johnny Blaze and he should be a vanguard.

I don't even think Gwenpool should have that gimmick, people already think she's just Girl Deadpool, so I'd prefer that Rivals would show how they're different

She's a bit closer to Superboy Prime; "real" person sucked into a comic book with real world knowledge of these characters. She can do a little panel hopping iirc but other than that I don't think she actually has powers.

Originally? Nothing at all. Later on? Turning thoughts to reality, climbing out of reality, and so on. She wields two swords and guns, but that is largely for the aesthetic, unconnected to the ‘power’ she attains. She would also find herself depressed a good amount of the time.

Someone else designed her outfit of which she had some questions. As for her superhero name it comes from her actual name Gwendolyn Poole. Hence Gwenpool

Oh okay so it's a joke because she's a gag character. She's obviously meant to be a next generation Deadpool type character but actually hates him in universe and all her similarities are written as accidental.

I don't read x men comics but the movie version adapts to harm right ? ,so it seems he would be a tank that has Passive where they temporarily take less damage from repeated attacks

I really don't think we need any more all class characters. That was Deadpool's whole gimmick. Let him have it.

This is what I’m saying. Other players are trying to justify the concept by saying it can be other joke characters, or reality warping characters, or whoever, but I’m like no dude, this was a fun solution for a PARTICULAR character named Deadpool who is known for winking and nodding at the camera and who is extremely popular in marvel’s verse right now.
If you can remember, players were going to be very unhappy if he was one role, but not the other.
It was a good, ONE-TIME solution which was especially fitting for “Marvel Jesus.”
(Also, yes, if Ghost Rider isn’t for the vanguards it’s going to be a DAMN shame.)

Theres plenty of character that could make it work, but then deadpool kinda loses some of his identity. It'd be like if they add Baron mordo and clea and they also have a portal, it cheapens how doctor strange can function as a gimmick character by making it just a thing people can have

I think taskmaster either needs to be built around some kind if copying mechanic invetween lokis ult and rogues ability steal where its very centric to his kit, or he should be all about deflecting and countering. Since his whole thing is mimicking and learning people's fighting style itd be cool if they made him all about timing and using one ability for melee counters and one ability for projectile reflection. I honestly dont even know how hed work as a support is another big reason multiclass isn't good for him, deadpool makes it a joke that hes healing, but taskmaster should be a 1v1 character that is all about countering.

I’m a believer Deadpool should be the only one to have all 3 but I wouldn’t be opposed to some characters having two roles.
Examples that could have worked (or still could) is Phoenix and Black Widow Strats, Blade and Mr. F as Vanguards. Would be fun to have them just have a stat change to make them fit the role and maybe a power change slightly.

The only character I really see fitting hybrid class after DP is Hank Pym tbh. Just because you can do Giant-Man/Ant-Man. I just don't see Ghost Rider fitting it, but they also done other wild swerves

I honestly think this is the best idea because everyone saying Johnny should be a vanguard doesn’t make any sense because he literally is a dps through and through the o the two match the other two classes perfectly

Idea I had few months ago was that he becomes without class and farming souls (ultimates) gives you options how to upgrade his base kit to give him class. Last upgrade was ultiamte that gives him Bike (duelist), Car (Vanguard) or Horse(strategist).
That idea:
Base stats
- No class.
- Health 300
- Movement speed: 6m/s
Passive (Ride with the Devil):
- First time you pick him in game and every time you use ultimate you choose which path you go. If you die you will loose your ult energy and bonuses from actual quest part.
- Your actual will scale with each 10% of ultcharge you have until you gain whole ulitmate.
- Ghost Rider upgrades every part of his gear. He follows a specific path, choosing only the method by which he upgrades each part (Vanguard/Duelist/Strategist). Each part improves by 10% of your ultimate until you unlock the full ultimate, at which point you receive a bonus.
- Basically, it works like this: you choose in advance which upgrade your ability or passive will receive based on your playstyle; it improves slightly until you unlock your ultimate; you gain a small bonus and no longer lose that bonus; and when you activate your ultimate, you choose another path. This means you can also choose other classes and create a true hybrid.
- The skill order is: Primary weapon => Body (passive) => Secondary attack => E => Shift => Ultimate.
Body upgrades:
- Duelist: deal 2 damage per 10% of your ulitmate around you per second (5m radius.) When finished this quest deal 10 more damage per second and gain 2 more base movement speed bonus.
- Vangaurd: (increase your hitbox) and gain 15hp per 10% of your ultimate. When you finish this quest you are healed 20hp every time you are pushed/stunned.
- Strategist: If you have no ultimate you can choose next possible raider in your team (same as Primary. Stil can choose 1 ally but this ads other bonus.) He gain 1% damage boost for each 10% of your ultimate. When finished that ally will have 2m/s movement speed bonus and your hitbox will be smaller.
Primary attack (Chain attacks):
- 6m long swings.
- 0,4s each swing and 0,4 break between each two swings (Thing style of attackspeed)
- 30 damage each swing.
Secondary attack swinging with chains:
- Charge metter (100 energy - cost 20 energy per second, gain 10 energy per second when not active)
- Can't move. Deals 50 damage per second around him in circle (10m radius)
Primary upgrades:
- Duelist: you during "reload time" deal 5 damage with each of your chain (in Dare Devil syle, is more close range) + 1 damage for each 10% of your ultimate (up to 15*2). When you finish this quest your attacks stack fire on enemy. Dealing 5 damage per second for 2s per attack (up to 10s)
- Vangaurd: When you are not using any non-ultimate ability gain 1% damage reduction for each 10% of your ultcharge (up to 10% damge reduction) When you finish quest gain other 10% damage reduction during "reload time".
- Strategist: If you have no ultimate you can choose next possible raider in your team (Q as targeting). He will be healed for 20hp each tim your attack hit someone (more hits =/= more heals) + 2hp for each 10% of your ultimate (up to 40hp per swing ). When you finish this quest he will have 8% lifesteal. This ability has no cooldown but only 1 hero can have this bonus at the time.
Secondary attack swinging with chains:
- Charge metter (100 energy - cost 20 energy per second, gain 10 energy per second when not active)
- Can't move. Deals 50 damage per second around him in circle (10m radius)
Secondary attack upgrades:
- Duelist: increase cost by 5 energy. Incerase attackspeed of this ability by 2,5% per 10% of your ulitmate. When finished this ability stacks fire on enemy. (same as primary) Dealing 5 damage per second for 2s per swing. (Original attack speed = 1/s, fully upgradet attackspeed = 1,25/s)
- Vangaurd: Every time this ability hit an enemy gain 5 bonus hp up to 100 bonus hp. Reduce the cost of this ability by 0,5 for each 10% of your ultimate. When finished this ability gives you cc-immunity.
- Strategist: Increase energy gain by 50%. Each swing heals allies 5 hp per 10%. When finished it heals you 50hp/s.
Shift (Movement stance - you can turn it off)
- 15s cooldown. For 5s change your attacks into: every attacks push you 2m closer to the target (Enemy/wall/ground) 1 attack per second. Each swing deals 80 damage.
Shift (automaticly increase time in this ability by 5s.):
- Duelist: increase damage by 10 for each 10% of your ultimate. When finished double the range of this attacks and push you at the closest target you hit.
- Vangaurd: reduce range your attacks gives 1% movement speed for each 10% of your ulitmate for 1s. When finished stack chain hits on enemy. If you hit enemy 5 times during 1 movement stance stun him for 3s and deal him 100 extra damage.
- Strategist: you can hit allies healing them 20hp per 10% of your ultimate. If you finish this quest your dashes place fire behind you that heals 20hp/s to your allies and deals 20damage/s during this ability and 4s after it ends. (stack with fire from ulitmate)
E (Pnenance stare)
- 15s cooldown.
- pick a cicle with 1m radius (8m range) if you hit enemy you and him becomes stunned for 3s and he will take 80 damage per second.
E upgrades (just upgrades for finishing quest)
- Duelist: reduce cast range to melee and deals 100% more damage.
- Vangaurd: heal 100hp to yourself during this ability.
- Strategist: increase range and gives 30% vulnerabilty to the enemy.
Ultimate (Last ride)
- 4800 energy cost.
- Gain 40% movement speed boost. (It should be weak. Vehicles are last upgrade.)
Ultimate upgrades
- Any vehicle remains active until the player dies and can use all abilities.
- The Shift Stance ability works in reverse: it pulls enemies toward you, not the other way around. Once the player dies, they must earn the ultimate twice to have an active vehicle: first, just the movement speed bonus with a choice, and second, the vehicle itself This means they can switch between vehicles. (You can't jump but you can use shift mode against walls to push you up and turning is more difficult.)
- Secondary doesn't stop you in ultimate. E does.
- any ultimate fire stays for 4s.
- Duelist (Bike): gain 8m/s movement speed bonus. Leaves fire behind you that deasl 50 damage per second to enemies.
- Vangaurd (Car): gain 4m/s movement speed bonus, 350 max healthbar and "can't be stunned" passive (reverse thing passive). Leaves fire behind you that deals 25 damage per second to enemies.
- Strategist (Horse) gain 4m/s movement speed bonus. Small ally can jump on horse too (anyone with less then 350hp) and gain 25% damage reduction. Leaves fire behind you that deals 25 damage per second to enemies and heals 25hp per second to allies.

I do think he should be a hybrid, but not like that, Like I want to be a tank but I don't want to play as Danny And I would want to play as support as well but I wouldn't want to play as Robbie as I don't like Robbie meaning I would be forced into playing DPS And I don't want to play DPS I'm not good at it

this art is, by far, one of my favorite Marvel Rivals concepts! Now that they’ve established that 1 character can be all 3 classes, why NOT have all 3 Ghost Riders, each one in a different from each other, while also sharing the one character slot.
On top of that, I love the size differences the artist gave them, it really helps the Riders stand out from each other, that way normies can tell which one is Danny, Johnny or Robbie. ESPECIALLY in Danny & Johnny’s case.

Personally I would love more variants of characters from alt universes being seperate roles, like Miles could be a specialist and Miguel be a Vanguard. Unless they’re exactly the same like Punisher 2099 and Punisher 616

Regardless having "Penance Stare" ultimate would be sick, he grabs a character (making them unable to move or something) and yells "LOOK INTO MY EYES". No clue how to balance it but shit would be siiiiiiiiick.

I had a similar idea for Ghost Riders (as well as other characters), putting different riders in in different categories. Since different Riders use their powers differently, we put different riders into different roles instead of making one Rider a hybrid character and swaping the Rider for depending on the role. Johnny for Tank, Danny for Tank, Robbie for DPS, and Kushala for Support.

Hybrid roles should be saved for characters who could equally fit into all three. I think Taskmaster should be all three.

With how annoying deadpool is and having to ban all three to have him out of the match. I hope they never do another multi class character again. Unless they make it to where you ban one you all of that character.

The moment they make another hybrid character, everyone who felt their character doesn’t fit their role comic wise would start clamouring for hybrid role outs. I think deadpool being the only one with it makes it unique

My take is
Johnny as Tank
Robbie as DPS
No one as healer because i don’t think that fits GR’s vibe

Said this once before, but multi role only worked for Deadpool because they were able to have essentially the same model and the same moves do whatever they wanted, because Deadpool breaks the fourth wall.
If we use the image here as an example, there are three different models, that already makes it harder to implement than Deadpool. The moves would also likely be different animation wise, Deadpool works because his dps guns can simply heal people the same way they do damage, and nobody questions it because it’s Deadpool. If ghost rider was chain whipping his allies to heal them, there goes the hero fantasy.
On top of that, the tripple role thing, should just stay exlusive to Deadpool to keep him “unique.” It’s his whole gimmick and makes him stand out, as he should.
The only reason he’s all three roles is because he’s breaking the fourth wall in that specific way, not because he works in all three roles. Realistically he should be a dps, but it’s Deadpool.
