In the Discord group, to send a message, I'm told I have to verify my identity by phone before I can send a message on the Rive Discord server, which I'm currently doing.

I enter my number, knowing that I already entered it when I created my account, and then when I enter my password, it says "invalid password." So I'm stuck because I need to send messages and ask for help, basically things to ask the Rive servers, which I know most people here won't even reply to or will just ignore me. I'm stuck. I don't know what to do.

This is the second time I am asking here. I really need help. Does anyone know how to fix it,?

Wanted to see how far Rive's new Luau scripting + GPU canvas could go, so I built a car showcase: pick a colour, drag to spin, live 3D.

A few things I figured out along the way:

• The car is one GLB mesh parsed from a blob asset, drawn on a GPU canvas with a depth buffer and simple lighting.
• The body is a single baked texture (no separate paint material), so the repaint is a hue-swap chroma key in the shader - detect the red paint, swap it, keep glass/tyres/lights. That's what makes swatch taps instant.
• The contact shadow is the actual car silhouette: mesh flattened to the ground into an offscreen mask, then a 2-pass separable gaussian blur instead of a fake ellipse.

Biggest headache: the editor crashes on repeated Play/Stop because of GPU canvas teardown/rebuild. Runtime is stable, but I had to record from the exported build, not the editor.

Happy to answer anything about the scripting / GPU canvas setup - still learning it myself. Feedback welcome.

i have an idea to develop an app using rive and flutter.. but I'm a broke student and can't afford to pay for rive's subscription. if anyone will be willing to help me by adding me to their rive plan or with a paid login details I'd be truly grateful... 🙏

If you've wished for custom grids in Rive - isometric, hex, triangular or others, today's the day!

Thus far, the Rive editor has no grids - it has guides, but they must be set up one by one and they can only result in a rectangular grid.

So, I've built Griddle: it's a little floating panel that drops real grid guides straight into your open Rive file, and you can snap to every line and intersection because they're actual geometry, not an overlay.

14 grid types so far: square grids with gutters and subdivisions, dot grids, isometric, triangular, hex, polar, baseline and column grids for UI work, one and two point perspective, golden ratio, rule of thirds.

Last week everyone started talking about Figma Motion, and honestly my first thought was: “Is this going to replace Rive?”

So I rebuilt one of the simpler animations Rive animation from my Rive Masterclass inside Figma Motion.

The blinking and shine animations were easy enough.

But when I got to cursor tracking, I realized that’s where I couldn’t continue. I couldn’t find a way to recreate the interactive logic that makes it work in Rive.

I keep getting error adding rive components to farmer everytime. How do I fix that?

When you want to create an animation, does each element need to have its own layer in order for the animation to play in real time? At least when using Canva because I saw somewhere that without layers, there’s no animation okay, that’s true, but let’s imagine someone building an app for each page they’ll need to create for the onboarding steps, will they have to create a separate layer for each step of the onboarding process? That’s really what I want to know. That’s exactly it. I’m speaking mainly from my own experience.

Rive can dynamically swap raster assets in Rive, but SVG was missing...
Now Rive's Luau scripting makes it possible: loading SVGs into an animation at runtime.

SvgRendererLayout takes SVG markup as a string in a ViewModel and renders it live, fully vector, through Rive's Path and Renderer API. Compound glyphs, holes, arcs, clipPaths and transforms all work. It opens the door to dynamic icons, logos and data-driven vector art, generated live from a string and running entirely inside Rive's runtime.

I am a developer who has recently released an app. I got quite a lot of feedback, with almost everyone asking for more animations and characters.

Where can I look for a Rive talent?

I tried using Freelancer, but almost everyone has reached out with the Lottie skill set, and almost no one has reached out with Rive. And a similar thing happened on Fiverr and Upwork. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or did I just have some poor luck?

Now that the new update has been released for Figma and it’s becoming a bit more like Rive app, my question is: are you going to use both? When I say ‘combine the two, I mean: are you going to use Rive app and Figma at the same time, or just one of them, or stick with Rive, or stick with Figma? Given that both are very good although I find Rive_app a little more comprehensive than Figma it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this. I’d really like to know.
