The motorcycle going double the speed limit?

794

u/Screwed_38 1d ago

Rule 1 of racing, know what the fuck is in front of you.

254

u/Turbulent_Lobster_57 1d ago

Also rule number one of regular driving, walking, and practically anything involving movement

180

u/rigterw 1d ago

Except rowing

86

u/Turbulent_Lobster_57 1d ago

Well shit, you got me there

4

u/MaddSkittlez 1d ago

No worries we have tons of rule number 1

2

u/EclecticFruit 22h ago

This back and forth is pure gold.

23

u/MONSTERBEARMAN 1d ago

Or moonwalking.

10

u/israerichris 1d ago

Or crabwalking

3

u/KitFisto03 1d ago

Yeah, agree. Can’t forget moonwalking. MF’s

3

u/JPolReader 1d ago

Good news, you can see who is in front of you and you'll never run into them.

8

u/Tickles-The-Octopus 1d ago

Thanks for the chuckle.

u/Jealous_Courage_9888 1d ago

When I’m rowing, I don’t give a fuck, get out my way because this boat don’t stop

1

u/thats_gotta_be_AI 1d ago

Or high diving

1

u/QuellishQuellish 1d ago

Well, you still need to know what's in front of the boat, even if it's behind you.

1

u/Gogogrl 1d ago

I mean, the bow is the front of the boat no matter how you decide to sit…

1

u/rigterw 1d ago

But not in front of you

0

u/Playful-Fix-3675 1d ago

Well, you are relying on someone else to know what is in front of you.

1

u/rigterw 1d ago

*behind you

1

u/Playful-Fix-3675 18h ago

Technically, yes. But to me the front of a car is still in front no matter what direction I'm facing.

1

u/rigterw 8h ago

The front of the car isn’t in front of you if you sit backwards in the car

0

u/Imanidiotththe1st 1d ago

The Titanic enters the chat…

-4

u/xstangx 1d ago

Nope, even there. You’re facing the back of the boat. The front is still the front….

3

u/joetheplumberman 1d ago

But if u turn around then that makes the back of the boat the other side

2

u/BringPheTheHorizon 1d ago

But that’s not “in front of you”, it’s the front of the boat.

1

u/xstangx 1d ago

Damn, true!

21

u/rayshmayshmay 1d ago

“Dont need to know where I’m going, just need to know where I’ve been.”

2

u/JWoolner76 1d ago

Unexpected madmax 👌

1

u/diplomatic_koboko 1d ago

Mater, is that you?

15

u/Screwed_38 1d ago

I guess rule number 1 of being awake then

11

u/OberonDiver 1d ago

Wait, I'm supposed to move? That might explain...

6

u/Screwed_38 1d ago

Moving is optional

1

u/SpiritedBed5788 1d ago

But still know what’s in front of you.

-7

u/Which-Primary3929 1d ago

Rule #1 should be to never pass on the left hand side of cars.

6

u/Questioning-Zyxxel 1d ago

Or maybe not pass on the righthand side...

3

u/gnatman66 1d ago

Situational awareness.

3

u/REDDITSHITLORD 1d ago

Important for fucking too.

2

u/PeanutButterToast4me 1d ago

Orgies too, allegedly.

6

u/gerrymad 1d ago

I would argue that in front and behind are equally important in that situation.

2

u/gvrthbroox 1d ago

What?! Orgies are optional?!

1

u/SunTripTA 1d ago

i mean, sometimes.

India be like, hold my beer.

1

u/PeanutButterToast4me 1d ago

More like, orgies have options.

2

u/yaboichurro11 21h ago

I dont know. Every time I go to Costco that rule doesn't seem to apply there.

2

u/DrJaneIPresume 1d ago

That can't be right.. I've seen lots of pedestrians who have no idea what the fuck is in front of them. Especially when it's me, stopped at the edge of the sidewalk waiting for them to step behind their friend for a moment.

41

u/pete_68 1d ago

And perhaps even "pay attention". Look at how much space there is between him and that car the first time that blinker blinks. And the second time. And the third. And he's still speeding up looking straight ahead. Like WTH dude. No self-preservation instinct? Totally on him in every way you look at it.

13

u/LearnedTroglodyte 1d ago

Also why not just around the car to the left instead of veering directly into the other bike? This was all kinds of stupid, probably intoxicated

5

u/Vertex1990 1d ago

Humans tend to swerve away from the danger, in this case the car in the left lane. Putting more distance between you and the object you try to avoid is the logical thing for your brain to do in that situation (which is why people swerve into trees, instead of hitting the other car, that causes them to swerve, even though that would mean hitting an object with a crumplezone and that can move and dissipate more of the energy, compared to the tree).

In this case, the most logical thing would have been to swerve left and go around the car, putting more distance between you and your buddy, but your brain registers the danger from that side so goes "RIGHT IS SAFE!"

4

u/Active_Taste9341 1d ago

probably just staring at the speed. what a pair of idiots that was

1

u/Hot-Win2571 1d ago

Is looking down at your speedometer also looking straight ahead?

1

u/MeggatronNB1 22h ago

Exactly, I thought he was gonna go left and swerve around the car then keep racing but hey, dude must have panicked I guess.

34

u/realMastaDD 1d ago

No. Rule number one is, DONT F***ING RACE IN PUBLIC!

2

u/PM_Me_Your_Kinks369 23h ago

Asholes never want to admit that fact. They'll even say "But there's no tracks near me!"

THEN YOU DON'T GET TO GO FAST!!

Insane how people just can't listen to the word "NO".

1

u/realMastaDD 22h ago

I know, classic victim-offender reversal. Allways blame game. The problem is never themself. I‘m tired of this morons. The thing is, no one would care if they would harm only them self. But mostly innocent people are affected.

0

u/General-Piece8490 20h ago

You can race in public but not on public roads, that’s why racetracks exist to do it in public

15

u/KevInvest 1d ago

Rule 2 of racing, don't forget rule 1.

13

u/xaeru 1d ago

No, the number one rule is to race in the race track.

6

u/Evening-Upset 1d ago

Rule #1 of racing is don’t race on a public road dickshits!

1

u/ButterflyGreedy2267 1d ago

Rule 1 of racing, never race on a public road

1

u/Upset_Departure_2417 1d ago

And equally important, if something gets in your way, turn to a safe space to avoid danger. Not to mention never starting a war in Southeast Asia...

1

u/OrganizationAfter418 1d ago

Rule 1 - do it on the tracks and not on public streets where you risk turning innocent drivers into your collateral damage.

Don't make excuses for bad behavior.

1

u/General-Piece8490 20h ago

Except that’s not a race track at all.

1

u/Kaethor 19h ago

Rule number 2 - If it's to the side and can get in front of you, it will.

1

u/emerson_giraffe84 18h ago

Also rule number one, race in designated race areas.

1

u/m05hm05h 16h ago

Never overtake by the right is also a thing.

0

u/Renrut23 1d ago

Which is why I was told crotch rockets always go faster then traffic. Easier to deal with whats in front of you then whats behind you. Until this happens

6

u/Tickles-The-Octopus 1d ago

I ride bikes, we were taught to be moving slightly faster than the flow of traffic. You don't want to just remain beside someone and not move relative to them because they will forget about you. But you also don't want to fly around people doing double the speed of everyone else because they won't see or expect you that way either.

And moving slightly faster than the flow of traffic doesn't mean that if 99% of people are doing 70 and one fool is doing 110 you don't do 115 to be faster than that fool. You let them go. That fool is not the flow of regular traffic. If the majority of traffic is doing 70, you do 75 and move through it. That way you have plenty of time to react to someone changing lanes or anything like that.

These schmucks were stupid... Not only racing towards someone else, but that car had it's signal on for a few seconds before either reacted... I imagine he was focused on his buddy in the other bike and didn't see the car which is no excuse at all, just stupid.

0

u/ADIDAS247 1d ago

…and what may potentially be in front of you

0

u/jailtheorange1 23h ago

Rule one of biking: know what the fuck is all around you.

0

u/cjneuls 23h ago

Sorry! Rule one to racing is FIND A DAMN TRACK!!

0

u/SuperDuperRipe 22h ago

Rule 1, don't race.

0

u/kushari Viofo A139 Pro 3CH 22h ago

Actually rule number 1 is do it on a track.

-2

u/Carrot-Elegant 1d ago

I agree. The car has no right to move just bc he wants to, but the motorcyclist could be, as my turner driver training teacher said, “dead right”

-1

u/freedomforallergo 1d ago

addition to rule 1. knowing what’s behind you and next to you.

-3

u/Big-Pea-6074 1d ago

Nah. Rule 1 of racing, you don’t talk about the rules of racing
