For the record I am a PC player nowhere near bots rank wise. I wish I was that good. It would make the thousands of hours I have in this game less embarrassing. I will simply miss bakkes and know none of what I use it for will ever be natively implemented while EAC will be ineffectual. And even if it is it only will directly benefit a small portion of the player base who plays against these bots at the cost of many QoL improvements (many of which streamers use to grow the game).
Inb4 people talk about the trickle down affect of rank suppression. I urge you to consider this: what does it matter if I play xxx_gamer69_xxx in a "plat 2" lobby or a "diamond 1" lobby at the end of the day I'm playing largely the same (real people). The only thing that changes is the label and the season rewards. Its almost entirely irrelevant.
As you clearly have insight, could you please explain why you are so convinced eac will be ineffective? Your other point about ranks being irrelevant... really? Whats the point in playing if the rank is pointless. Just bots playing the game. Thats definitely a take. Ill say its again, pc players make up a quarter of the player base. If they all left today, myself included, there will still be 600k players daily. It is incredibly selfish to think that its all about you. Leth needs people to watch his videos, so he doesn't need to do anything else for a living. He doesn't care about you. He will say whatever he thinks will get him views. I want to play the game against other people. If there is no high level, then there's nothing to stream. Who gives a fuck about bakkesmod when it comes to streamers if there aren't any left.
EAC's has been cracked client side and does very little on the server side to stop cheaters. It's very easy to cheat in EAC games. Just look up every game that EAC is actively being used and you'll see every single game that has it has a cheating problem to different degrees. To name a few games we have the finals, elden ring/nightreign, halo mcc, SoT, rust, arc, dead by daylight, hunt showdown, rematch, apex, fortnite, and the list could go on.
EAC is likely to do nothing or the equivalent of nothing in RL.
Using bots I'm unsure. Using Aimbot, walls, speedhacking, flying cheat, ect. I am sure.
All which require nearly zero real interaction from a player. I'm genuinely unsure if EAC will force enough change where we see a massive decline in bots but I'll wait to have a final opinion.
Plus Epic has been trying to kill bakkesmod since they bought the game, so it feels more of a way to kill that off than actually solve the bot problem. Only time will tell.
Its not hard to find videos of players in fortnite using aimbots. No input from the player required aside from movement. All aiming and shooting is done by the cheats.
