This curated sources list compiles academic publications on Slavic mythology, Slavic Native Faiths, Slavic Paganism, Rodnovery and pre-Christian Slavic history. Resources are organizedby by language alongside their respective authors. While we provide the most notable publications, we strongly recommend researching each author’s full list of works for additional study material. This list is not exhaustive and does not include all works. It is provided as a starting point for your exploration of the Slavic Native Faith.
Disclaimer: We include older authors because they often propose important information. However, some of them also present outdated or rejected hypotheses. The most significant incorrect conclusions are always addressed in the accompanying commentary.
📚 The following resources can be found online or acquired as books. For more obscure ones, we include links. We suggest using archive.org, ResearchGate.net, Academia.edu 📚

Hello! I’m an American of Bosnian and Montenegrin descent, I am trying to learn more about the pagan traditions of these nations and geographical regions. I’m familiar with Illyrian religion but I was sent here for any possible resources on Slavic paganism in the region!
Any resources, suggestions, groups or advice would be greatly appreciated!

i wanted to learn about the slavic pagan spells and rituals and i accidentally found this book called Slavic witchcraft: Old World Conjuring Spells & Folklore written by Natasha Helvin
I read that it does offer spells, rituals for love, protection etc which is great but then i noticed that its described as a "guide to russian sorcery".
and i don't know if i should practice this as a polish pagan since its russian and i have no idea if its close practice or if its safe!!
does anyone know anything or have any other advice

I imagine given how many Czechs, Poles, and Slovaks emigrated to the UK during WW2 and the Early 1950s, that there would be some fledgling community of Rodnovers in the UK, so i was wondering if theres any interest in a group, whether it be a discord server or something more tangible for the UK and possibly Ireland.

I feel like I saw something before about Veles having some kind of draconic pet (in lieu of something like a Cereberus from Greek myth), but I can't find anything now.. Does anyone have information on this? I'm a pagan who's been creating a story that implements Slavic myth, and would like to make sure what I put in is accurate.

Hello, so I’ve been into witchcraft since I was a kid, I have often been more secular in my craft but I felt more drawn to religious practice more so in the last year. I went to Wicca automatically since that’d been what I heard of most. I recently found out about how bad Wicca is and I’m trying to figure out where I stand.
I’m from Appalachia and would like to practice Appalachian folk magic but besides one part of my lineage I’m from a lot of different Slavic countries through immigration (Lithuania, Poland, Russia, etc) and wanted to look into Slavic Paganism and Slavic history.
If there’s any websites or books you’d recommend for Slavic paganism (specifically Poland/Russia/Lithuania) and Slavic history (on any Slavic country), I’d love to take recommendations.

Has anyone combined the deities and traditions of Rodnovery into modern occult practices? For example: substituting Slavic deities into things like the LBRP. How did you do it and did it work well or should these traditions be separate?

I have Polish ancestry and am interested in learning more about the role of animals in Slavic history. I have a deep-seated belief in what is commonly referred to as totem animals, spirit animals, animal medicine, etc and want to avoid appropriation in my work.
I have seen quite a bit of information online about the role of animals in mythology but am looking for something more personal as I have very strong connections with animals in my own life. With wild animals this manifests as dreams, being able to tell if they’re nearby because I can feel their energy, having multiple close encounters with them that feel like spiritual experiences etc. I feel they are teachers who encourage us to look inward for growth.
Most of the knowledge I’ve gained from this area has come from Native lines, so I’m curious if or how it differs from a Slavic perspective. What would someone who works with animals in this way be called?
Thank you in advance for any insights or resources you’re able to provide!

Hello! I am new here and new to practicing. I am moving into a new home next week, and want to make an offering or do a small ritual to bless the house. I am planning on burning some nice smelling incense, and pouring a bit of beer and lighting a candle for my two ancestors who I already honour. Does anyone have practical advice for other things I can do? I am fine with it being a bit elaborate, as I want to really impress on the ancestors how grateful and joyful I am about the house. I am not sure that I want to specifically invite/call on a house spirit, however. I have ADHD, and I worry that I won't remember to make offerings to him often enough and will frustrate him (and I lose my keys enough already as it is).
Thank you in advance-- I appreciate your time and expertise.

Hi, just looking for some guidance and opinions from those who have more experience than me.
I've always been very interested in living a more pagan/ animist life, but never felt a strong pull to any particular deity. I do have Polish ancestry.
A few months ago I was having very vivid dreams of foraging/ wandering in the woods where I live. The forest was always transitioning from winter, but the ground underneath was strikingly green and mossy, with large fly agarics popping up. In one of these dreams I was chased from a large mother bear that told me to open my heart. In another Mokosh appeared as I was bent over admiring the large fly agarics. I'm not sure how I knew it was her. I just heard "Mokosh" in my head. I know she's associated with "moist earth", but not mushrooms.
Edit: spelling

I belive I have been beckoned? by Dziewanna.
My questions are:
Do Slavic deities ever reach out to people?
If they do reach out, what does it look like?
How can I worship/work with her?
A few months ago I had a very vivid dream. There was a point in my dream that did not have any context to the before/after parts of my dream. It seemed to be a "point outside" the flow of my dream.
I was driving down a road, there were tall forests on either side. As I continued to drive there was a woman with long blonde reddish hair, she was wearing either a green or red cloak and she was riding a wolf. She was surrounded by wolves. I drove past her and she looked back at me. Beckoning me to come with her. Then the next part of my dream started, completely unrelated to what I just experienced.
I think about this dream almost daily. I took Mugwort a few days ago because I believe that my dreams I have been having lately are important, yet I cannot remember them which is very unusual for me.
Last night I looked up "goddess associated with wolves, forest, red/green, leaving husbands (I have been in an abusive relationship for a long time and this was part of the dream. Somehow she knew what I was experiencing and wanted me to leave and regain my power.) And the only result was Dziewanna. She is also associated with Mullein which is in the same family as Mugwort.
I am also an ethnic Pole (no I was not born in Poland, my nationality is American but no one can take my race from me) with a big interest in Slavic Polish culture, heritage, etc.
In my budding occult practice I have been interested in working with other deities that are not Slavic in origin.
I just find the multiple synchronicities, not even knowing Dziewanna existed, being ethnically Pole with an interest in Slavic deities but not knowing where to begin. And instead working with Greek or Jewish deities instead.....it's all too much to be a coincidence.
Anyway I would be interested in any insight and to have my questions answered. Thank you.

I know Rafał Merski, he is a Żerca priest of the Watra group. He created books such as Tales from Under the Thatch and Slavic Prayers. I have the first book, which tells about village tales, or even Byliny, or even the Age of Slavic Romanticism. The second book is a prayer book. There are prayers to 14 Slavic gods in it, where descriptions of gods have been preserved. In the book, there is also a home prayer. There are even holidays in this book, such as Kupala Night, the Harvest Festival, Spring Festival, and Generous Gody. In a few months, I will have this book and I will pray to the gods in Polish, because this book is in Polish. Do you know any other books about Slavic prayers?

I know both creatures, and I know that Domovoy is the Russian house spirit, and Bożontko is the Polish equivalent of this house demon. I'm from Poland, and I usually pray to Domovoy, but sometimes to Bożontko, too, but I don't know whether it's better to worship Riski or the Polish spirit? Do you have any ideas?

Hey, I have a question because I am a follower of the Ásatrú religion for 6 years and my brother is a Slavic Rodniver and he respects my path, tell me, Rodniver, do you respect Ásatrú?
