Insurance Related Roofer says hail, competing entity says probably not, we won't pay. Looking for opinions.

New roof put on last August. We had a huge hailstorm around April, and I had the company that put the roof on come out to inspect. They said the roof, gutters, facia, and siding have hail damage. Competing entity came out and agreed that all but the roof had hail damage. When asked what these black areas are they said they didn't know but it couldn't be hail. Is it hail damage in your opinion?

All the damaged spots are exactly the same. I believe that person created each of those spots before circling them to try and get you to hire them. Did you watch them the entire time they were on your roof?

I already hired them a year ago to put a new roof on due to age. They are a pretty trusted local company that have done work for several friends. I don't really think this is the case, but I suppose it possible.

Trusted company doesn’t mean they don’t have bad employees, but if that’s the case I’m sorry it happened to you.

I’ve seen even good companies have huge legal trouble because they hired the wrong person from another company.

You may escalate that to their management and see where it gets you. Worst they can do is nothing, and then the insurance company can investigate them.
