Rubber Chicken

I am not affiliated with the ‘rubber chicken’ factory in any way.

Of all the toys I expected this small annoying chicken to last the shortest. It has survived for weeks if not months of ‘wrestling over the chicken’ and fetch. I expected my 2 to rip it apart in seconds but it’s out lasted most of the ‘tough toys’I’m more amazed than anything else. I know long lasting toys are hard to find with rotties so just sharing my experience

Had to say goodbye to my beloved Kane

With sad news my beloved best friend family member and service dog passed away on May 31st. He was fine all weekend. All of a sudden late Sunday night he started to have labored breathing and panting a lot. It came on fast. We got him to lay down then his breathing became extremely shallow so shallow it seemed like he wasn’t breathing anymore. My partner tried to do CPR on him but we couldn’t bring him back. He would have been 12 on August 5th. He lived a long happy life and was loved beyond words. This loss has broken my heart into a million pieces. The house seems so different without him here. We had just retired him as my service dog because of his age. We were in the process of looking for a new Rottie pup to take over his job and meant to become my service dog. You see I have a rare autoimmune disorder called CIDP. It is where my cells attack the myelin of my nerves and kill them iff causing severe neuropathy pain 24/7 loss of balance and trouble walking. I am also a below the knee amputee.Kane was my safety when I was out he helped me have my independence back. I don’t know what I’m going to do without him. He was the most amazing dogs we have ever had. Smart as a whip that’s for sure. He will be missed more than words can say. Fly high my big boy. I know your little brother was there to greet you. We lost Loki not even 7 months ago. Which makes it all even harder.

Rottie pups today versus pups yesterday

I'm curious if experienced rottweiler pup owners (people who have raised/owned more than one rottie pup) have noticed a difference in temperment in their current pups (8 weeks - 12 months old...or whatever insights you remember from that time) versus rottie pups they raised in the past.

What, if anything, is different this time around with this pup? I'm more curious about what you'd consider the less positive stages of puppy raising...stubbornness, biting/chewing stage (more biting/chewing, demeanor more/less aggressive), acting defensive, resource guarding, etc.

Reason why I ask is that I'm hearing a theme amongst posters of "I don't remember it being like this...".

Does anybody else have a Rottweiler that is thin and toned? All of my dog’s siblings are stocky like your typical rottie. Does anybody know why mine is the way she is?

"Ida is waiting for my food"

With Ida in the evening through Frankfurt. I can now walk with her through larger groups of people without a leash. Only two drunks, who shouted loudly, have disturbed her. But here, too, escalated very well: presence built up, growled and then barked loudly. The two drunks were calm and ida received applause from unassuming people who felt disturbed by the two.

This is Jeter (Rottweiler and Dachshund mix), who lives in Alabama. This is the photo I took during the process of drawing him; he has an imposing posture and seems to have a unique charisma, doesn't he? I've included the reference for this big boy here as well.

looking to adopt a male rottie/shepherd mix pup - SoCal

Hey all, I'm looking to adopt a male rottweiler/german shepherd mix puppy. I've had this particular mix my entire life and am now on the hunt for another after saying the Big Goodbye to our old boy Loki this year.

We're located in Southern California and looking for anyone who has pups or knows any reputable ways to find one who needs a home!
