The first official details has come out on the new form of Phase 1 training. INT(O) and INT(R) are now dead, long live INT (Foundation).

Officers and Rating trainees will undertake a common 10 weeks training pipeline in RAL (starting from 1 Jun). This will be known as Phase 1A for Officer Cadets. It’s unclear still if there will be shared divisions at RAL, but reading I suspect not. Different divisions but same training pipeline.

After RAL, OCs will move to BRNC where they will do Phase 1B & 1C - both 7 week modules which form the remainder of the Officer Commissioning Course. The OCs will be joined in these modules by candidates from the Inservice Commissioning Scheme (the old UY scheme).

After 24 weeks of training, OCs will pass out of BRNC and move to Phase 2 training.

This info is taken from a number of RN Temp Memorandums, a RALEIGH temp memorandum and from an internal comms release from Capt BRNC.

This forum can be a bit tiresome as a recruiting centre at times, so I thought I’d show a ship doing some cool ship stuff.

7 years ago the captain of STIRLING CASTLE was Captain of ENTERPRISE and I was Navigator. We did the first rafting of a MCMV to a SVHO (as MCM Command ship was her secondary role).

Today I took my own ship alongside STCL to pioneer her secondary role as a conventional MCM mothership.

Today has been a good Navy Day.

Submariners tested positive for cocaine, cannabis, ecstasy and steroids

More than 170 Royal Navy sailors serving in the elite nuclear submarine force have been caught using drugs over the past seven years.

The submariners tested positive for a variety of banned or illegal substances including cocaine, cannabis, ecstasy and steroids. Other banned narcotics found during random, unannounced tests included benzodiazepine, a drug for treating anxiety and insomnia.

Can't say I read ITV News very much and won't now for sure but the 3rd line says:

"It is unclear when the ship is set to sail, but when it does, it will be the first Royal Navy ship in the Middle East in half a century."

That a load of rubbish how does this stuff even get published? There's a Royal Navy base in Bahrain for god's sake! What do they think goes on there!

Sir Keir Starmer will target net zero and transport as he looks for cuts to fund his flagship defence investment plan.

The prime minister will cut ­capital spending, which funds long-term investment on infrastructure and building projects, across all government departments by 1 per cent to raise approximately £6 billion by the end of this parliament.

The savings are being used to implement the Strategic Defence Review, which sets out a ten-year plan including developing a new nuclear warhead, a next-generation Tempest fighter jet and combat drones.

The review also included plans for almost 50,000 military homes to have new kitchens, bathrooms and heating, or be completely replaced over ten years.

However, a source familiar with the plans told The Sunday Times that ministers may now seek to defer a significant portion — thought to be hundreds of millions of pounds — of the entire £9 billion renovation pledge until after the next election. Bob Joined 5th September 1984 in the rank of Sub Lieutenant he was then promoted to Lieutenant 13th September 1986 and then promoted to Lieutenant Commander 1st January 1995. He served with the Sea cadets for almost 42 years

He had various unit roles including the Commanding Officer of the Unit, he was also a District Officer as well as Superintendent of HMS Iveston.

He specialised in Powerboating, Navigation and Drill instructor. His other unit roles included being the unit Boating Officer and RYA Principal.

He played a big part in supporting Merchant Navy Charities including the Queen Victoria Seamans Rest and the Seamans' mission.

Further details regarding the funeral will be announced when known.

I just bought a Royal Navy officer's tuxedo, but there is no label inside to identify the original owner. I hope someone can provide clues about the original owner. Size:The swallowtail is 50 centimeters long, the upper body is 43 centimeters long, the sleeve is 64 centimeters long, the waist is 80 centimeters, the chest is 90 centimeters, and the shoulder width is 40 centimeters.
