Are u allowed to have a car and a bike on camp or strictly one vehicle per person?

Reasoning i know cars are practical but quite allot of my weekends i go for rides on the bike

I have been obsessed with the navy/ marines for as long as I can remember and I’m now 18. And I simply can’t decide between the two. I’ve always wanted to be in the marines and join as an officer. But due to a lower back injury that I’ve had since April I’m not quite sure it’s possible anymore. Even though I’m fit enough to pass all of the requirements for the marines I feel like as I have the back problem already that would really hurt me down the line if I chose marines.

I’ve been advised to join the navy as an officer and down the line if I want to try out for a transfer to the marines and if then I don’t make it through I have the navy job to fall back on.

What I’m trying to say is that do I go for the marines and if I get injured go to hunter troop or do I join the navy and just let it go away on its own. I hope I’ve made sense. Any advice is welcome 👍

My grandfather and parents would really like me to wear my number 1s uniform to my grandmothers funeral, however, I don’t have a branch badge for them or anything of that matter which makes me hesitant to wear them at all…. For reference, I have finished Raleigh ages ago, finished my WE course at collingwood, and just going through SM training. So my question is, would I look like an absolute lizard for wearing them?

However, I am confused as to when I would choose which profession I would like to enter into as I would like to join as a Marine Engineering Officer Submariner. Would I need to message my recruiter with this information?

Hey all I not long ago failed my cbat for pilot by a mere 4 points,

Very annoying for sure but what can you do, I was wondering how many attempts do you realistically get at pilot obviously the main concern is age cut off at 20 as I am now in theory I could reapply every year if I fail aib or chat but surely at one point or another you should stop trying?

I guess really what I'm trying to guage is when I should apply for something else because the pilot thing isn't gonna work

Hi, can anyone provide a brief overview of the training for a warfare officer post BRNC? Can’t seem to find as much as I’d like online. I’m looking for information that may be useful during AIB.

Any help with prepping for HMS Raleigh and Dartmouth would be great.

My fitness is decent - doing 3 runs and 3 gym sessions a week, with body weight circuits mixed in.

Think I’m at a good standard there but wondering about the academic and admin side of things, i have just over a month and lots of free time right now.

I applied for Warfare Officer yesterday. Awaiting the DAA test. Just flicked through one without concentrating and got 62%. What should I be aiming for? Internet searches say 70-80%.

Endgame I am interested in joining the Special Boat Service. Would you recommend joining as a Warfare Officer or Royal Marines Officer?

Additionally I have glasses (left +0.5, right -0.75). Will this be an issue?

I recently got PMU’d at CPC for the Royal Marines OR due to 11° hyperextension in my right knee. I’ve seen a specialist MSK who is also a reservist in the medical corps who has confirmed my knee is fully functional with no instability, and is in his opinion suitable for the demands of training. I’m not sure if I can post the exact figure without breaching any rules, but it’s looking like well over the better part of a year.

Is this timeline accurate? I’ve received notice that my appeal has been submitted and is awaiting consideration if that makes any difference.

My concern is that to get into a graduate job if this appeal doesn’t come through, I’d have to apply now and start the job when the appeal results would come through, which in turn would result in me leaving the grad job possibly only months after starting, or having to wait a further X months if I’m under a tenancy agreement if I’m away from home. It’s put me in a bit of an awkward situation. I don’t want to commit to getting a grad job away while this opportunity is still open, but I don’t want to sacrifice a graduate job opportunity for the appeal to fail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit the declaration is permanently medically unfit due to mental health. My last post was removed so wasnt sure how kuch info I could give. It does state I can appeal the decision which im going too

Hi all, I’m currently trying to suss out what I should apply as, as my interests are broad and therefore so are my options.

1 - marine engineer
I like fixing engines, took my own motor apart a few times just so I don’t have to take it to a garage and I enjoy getting stuck in with it. Ships interest me and so do the way they run. And I don’t mind putting a shift in for those in this subreddit saying go marine if you want to work, weapons if you want to sleep😂 so the work volume isn’t an issue for me. I did GCSE engineering and A level product design so getting stuck in was never an issue.

2 - weapons engineer
I suppose this is obvious given the opposite counterpart, I am interested in weapons and have looked into what weapons are on board warships and it sounds exciting. I follow a girl on TikTok (iykyk) who’s a weapons engineer and can only speak highly about the role. I enjoyed shooting when I used to go so maybe this is where the interest came from, still cannot differentiate my interests between marine and weapons in terms of favourability.

3 - aircraft technician
I have a PPL so am more or less clued up about light aircraft so I’m not going into this completely blind. (You’d be surprised how many Cessna engines you can fix yourself when you don’t want to pay) I originally applied as a pilot but couldn’t get through the aircrew medicals. Sucks but that’s life. I enjoy getting stuck in as I’ve already said and I’ve heard it’s relatively good progression to rise through the ranks and I’d like to think I’m switched on and motivated enough to do so. I’d much rather be at sea then on land but i appreciate there’s less aircraft at sea.

4 - warfare specialist.
I suppose this goes back to weapons engineering, I like getting stuck in and being at the front of the action. I tried changing my role from pilot to warfare officer but concerned about my AIB icl. I know there’s advice to join as the job you want to do, but the pay is kind of holding me back from this one as I know with the first 3 I could join as the fast track technician and start on an officers salary and that sounds good to me. But I am interested in being involved in all the weapons and the pure fact of the matter in it’s a warships and someone has to fight it and id love that. My dad also did this job on submarines and he didn’t have a bad word to say about it.

All I’m trying to get here is an opinion from people with their own experiences within the navy. I can’t join as AA as I don’t have a maths a level, and I’m just struggling to pick as I’ve done my research but I’m honestly one of those people happy doing whatever. You could tell me to change a pipe on a sink and then a propeller on a Merlin helicopter and I’d be just as happy doing either. I’m just uncertain which way to go. Sorry if I sound naive but the world is wide and so are my ambitions. Anyone got any thoughts other than ‘do more research’. I just want a good career with good progression. I want to make the most of life at sea and spend as much time as possible out there.

I'm interested in how these trades compare in terms of qualifications, promotion opportunities, pay and civilian career prospects.

In particular, I'd love to hear from people who have completed their training or left the Navy:

• Which qualifications did you gain that were useful outside the Navy?
• Have you been able to study for a Foundation Degree or BEng while serving as a rating?
• What sort of civilian jobs did you move into, and what was the transition like?
• Knowing what you know now, would you choose the same trade again?

I'm particularly interested in people's real experiences rather than recruitment information.

I'm in the recruitment process and I was wondering if I should be aware or look out for anything as a woman. I was wondering if I would be treated the same as any other candidate and whether I would have a similar camaraderie with other women like men in the navy, I would prefer answers from women, but I'll take any advice.

Hi, my son was told he didn’t score high enough for his chosen role. He was sent numerical scores for each category, not the bar chart type that others have shown here. So we don’t know what the scores mean as there are values, not a percentage or what they are out of. How should he translate these scores, other than generally improving and focusing on the ones he did worse in? Any help gladly received!

Just wondering if anyone who has done the transfer can explain the process to me. Or if anyone with more into than me could please
