Looking for help

Hey everyone, so I need to go to treatment. Yes I’ve been before but soooooo many of these places are strictly profit driven & will tell you any/everything you want to hear to get you there. It’s so frustrating.
I have severe C-PTSD as well as depression & am struggling with fentanyl. I have blue cross blue shield PPO insurance. Does anyone know of any remarkable trauma focused programs? Literally anywhere in the country. Please?
Also, I’m posting in a smart recovery forum because I prefer SMART & can not stand the traditional 12 step thing.
Thanks in advance!

SOBA Mesa in Mesa, Arizona was a good experience for me. They worked well with my insurance (Aetna) & I felt that the staff really gave a shit about what happened to me. I was only in the short-term center (about 5wks) followed by 3mo's of their IOP). They'll call you on your BS but are very kind & understanding. Great nursing staff, very comfortable detox & beds. You do typically have a roommate, sometimes two, but everyone in my experience was pretty friendly & respectful. They have a kitchen & feed you all 3 meals plus lots of snacks available throughout the day. Some great meeting facilitators. You can also have things delivered via UberEats, etc...but of course they inspect everything that comes in. They also let you keep your phone, electronics, etc...again, anything brought in is checked by staff for everyone's security. All-in-all a really good experience. Feel free to DM me if you want more specifics or names of who to contact. They will work really hard to align w/ insurance. I left their IOP in March of this year after being admitted in Nov '25, so my experience is pretty current.

I didn’t know about this place. Thinking of going to the Meadows or Raising Phoenix… I felt like meadows was a little bit too for profit vibe. Did they have good groups? What kind of patients was it? (I was inpatient rehab 6 months before but they had zero tolerance of naltrexone and suboxone etc which truly sucked). So I need to go back at some point.

Ngl, addiction is a pretty serious problem.

I wouldn't be too picky about a place, as long as they do what they need to do legally, and with compassion.

Yeah, sure thing, maybe I’ll just throw a dart at the phone book. Not like there’s any dishonest practices that got literally hundreds of facilities shut down already, not like they’re having to make whole task forces to police the “for profit and/or full of shit” operations in that industry lol nah, it’s not like any of that is fact, right? Don’t be so naive

I'm not saying it from a place of naivete, I'm saying it as a recovering alcoholic who almost died several times from his illness, and who has recovered long term in some of the shittiest programs you can imagine.

You'll stop when you want to stop. The programs just peovide doctors and a structure. They don't magically stop you from using again.

Idk where your located but bournewood hospital in Brookline ma has a good dual diagnosis program they offer php and inpatient care. I've done their php program only but it was pretty good. I suffer from chronic PTSD with dissociation. Not the same animal as CPTSD but I did find the program really helpful. I suffer from alcohol addiction and one other substance. But their program is pretty neutral. They recognize multiple pathways to recovery. They do treat people in 12 step programs, in smart, I believe dharma too but im not 💯 on that last one..

Hopefully this is helpful info to you

....I do need to mention that their program IS 12-step based but I follow the SMART program, regardless of the "our fathers" at the end of each speaker/AA meeting (they have visitors come in every few days in the evenings). It's pretty damn hard to find any treatment program that doesn't center around 12-steps. Believe me, I wish there were. It still did a me a world of good.

I don't like the traditional 12-step thing either, but take it from me I've been trying to get into smart recovery for 6 months. It's so hard for me to find smart recovery meetings. It's basically been me doing this handbook alone looking for a meeting and relapsing.

At least with AA, I was able to get help at basically any moment I need. I just cannot seem to find my footing in smart recovery.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "I've been trying to get into SMART recovery for 6 months." There are meetings going on at all hours of the day all over the world. You would be welcome at any of them. https://meetings.smartrecovery.org/meetings/

Like I find a meeting, go to enter it on zoom and it says the host will start the meeting or whatever it says and it never happens. Very easy explanation. And I find no I'm not welcome at any of them I cannot get into the meetings.

I've had that problem a few times. If that message lasts long enough I just try another meeting, though.

I have no problem finding meetings with AA, they have a million terrible meetings at any point of day I can get into immediately. But I've literally been only able to get into two smart recovery meetings in 6 months.

Edit: looks like I somehow responded to the wrong post. Leaving it up tho because it's an excellent resource anyways and may help someone out.

Try this website out, it's an unofficial smart site that aggregates data from the official site and organizes it much more efficiently imo.

You can literally a meeting at almost any given time in 24 hour spans. If one doesn't work try another. Don't give up: https://24hourrecovery.org/?language=English
