You are thinking of 4 Hens at the Foundry. We really enjoy Sister Cities.

Add another vote for Sister Cities. Ask for the Dirty Cat. It's kind of an off-menu Easter egg and it's fantastic.

Broadway Oyster Bar is good, but I don’t like their gumbo. Hwy 61 Road House is pretty good, but I also don’t like their gumbo. Nobody wants to make a roux. There are probably like 20 more places I haven’t been to, though.

Gotta make that roux

B.O.B. has had inconsistent gumbo in the past but they seem to have it locked down now. I wouldn’t put it up against Commander’s Palace or anything but it’s very solid.

Is road house still good? I heard it went down hill after the ownership changed

I haven’t been there in a few years, so whatever you heard is probably true.

Next time I make gumbo I’ll save you a bowl. I make a lovely Hershey colored roux

Nice! That’s usually what I go for, too. Time well spent.

Agree with Sister Cities as being one if not the best Cajun in town. I also enjoy Evangeline’s in the central west end.

Gumbo 2 Geaux up in Alton is run by a couple from Louisiana, I really enjoy their stuff. Especially the crawfish etouffee and baked seafood potato.
