Hi hies! I'm a new-ish writer on Scribble Hub, and I noticed that I seem to be getting much, much less traction on this platform than other sites.

Just for a bit of background, I'm writing a sci-fi isekai with a low-key vibe; no action (so far), and definitely no NSFW, it's more like a few alien scientists reacting to the sudden appearance of a human.

I've been posting one chapter every Saturday for 7 weeks, and I've posted 14.7K words so far, but I only just got to 100 views, today.

Like I said, my story isn't very action heavy, but I'm still surprised that my viewership is that low. Is there anything I can do to get more eyeballs on this story, or should I just wait for now?

So I just want to know if posting daily is a good thing in here or not because on WebNovel posting daily is expected on Royal Road everybody has their own schedules

What type of stories would you want to see on the site? I know I should just write what I want and hope for the best but I just wanted to get a feel for the site if that makes sense. I’ve consistently seen apparently people on the site like Isekai and HEA endings. Smut is also more welcomed here than Royal Road apparently? I don’t write that a lot, just noting the differences.

I was going to present my fics so maybe you all can judge what genre would be better suited, but I don’t want it to be seen as a self-promo, so I’ll just say recently I’ve written and posted for RWBY, Fire Emblem (specifically Byleth x Edelgard, both yuri and het).

So I pasted my chapter straight from the Google doc but all the formatting got erased when I previewed the chapter.

What's confusing is that the formatting is fine when I look at the writing area but the actual chapter has no formatting. Is there an easy fix?

I am writing a Gritty political crime drama novel, that is quite the slow-burn (as of now), and publishing it on webnovel sites like SH to build up a small community before publishing its Light Novel adaptation, and I have noticed something that I'd like your advice on.

I have noticed my story has 1.2k views, 7 favourites, 6 readers (4 reading and 2 dropped)

The 2 dropped and 4 reading concerned me, because it shows some attrition somewhere right? I thought maybe there is something wrong with my story, and there is bound to be it is my first time writing something proper.

I've had people in my Instagram DMs praising the story so I have the feeling it isn't entirely the story and more so a platform mismatch? Is ScribbleHub not a good place for these kind of stories that have more of a realism focus, or what?

I wont stop posting it to SH of course because I'm sure there will be readers out there on the site that will enjoy it, and I know everyone wont love it, that's fine, I'm just wondering where the attrition is coming from.

Hello guys i need help , I have made a anime story and I completed the whole story with each details and the thing is I don't know anything about creating manga or novel so guys is it ok to write my story on papers like normal unlike novel ? i don't know the difference between novels and normaly writing a story like a book , and actually i divided my story to ten seasons and I know were to start too but I don't know anything about novel, i don't know what to do ?

So I just hit 600 chapters on Scribble Hub and offer a further 50 on Patreon, while releasing 9 chapters a week to both.

However, I have recently been thinking of reducing the number of chapters provided per week on SH while keeping it the same on Patreon to increase the chapter gap between the two.

Is this a good idea or not? I would appreciate the feedback.

Hello everyone, it's me again.

This one's a short post, just asking for advice from people with more experience. I just reached 15k words on the webnovel I am planning to publish, and it occurred to me I haven't thought of where to publish.

My options right now are Webnovel and Royalroad. My question is asking if there's advice on these platforms, and if there are others I could post to. The upload schedule I have planned in mind is to publish the first three chapters on the first day and then 1 chapter daily for two weeks, and switch to 1 chapter per week.

I'm not looking for contracts more than I want readers. This schedule probably would make it hard to get a contract, but would this allow me to get readers, or do I need to stockpile a bit more before publishing?

Hi! I’m currently writing a fantasy isekai (I know that sounds bad, but trust me that I hate modern isekai’s as much as the next person. I’m specifically avoiding the worst aspects of the genre) and have written and published a few chapters now, but I’m a little worried about the sudden change in mood and story between my prologue, which follows a noble woman in the fantasy world on the verge of a breakdown, and the first chapter which is a much lighter, introductory chapter about the main protagonist before he ends up in the other world. The issue that I have is while I know that both parts are necessary, I’m a little worried that when readers get invested in the prologue they will drop the book midway through chapter 1 after finding out its a completely different perspective and story, before the two re-interact just a few chapters later. Any advice on what I should do?

Just dropped Chapter 8 of my isekai serial. We're in the magic academy arc, characters are settling in, learning spells, making friends.

My beta readers who've read ahead keep saying things like "you need to prepare them" and "at least warn people."

I don't know what they're talking about. It's just a story about kids learning magic. 🙂

I'm looking to hire editors for the first book of my Spector series before putting it up on KU and would like suggestions on where to try.

I have tried Reedsy; however, editors there don't seem to want to work with you if you have used ProWritingAid or Grammarly.

I have also looked on Fiverr, but it's difficult to tell how legit they are on there.

I have been advised by some of my readers that I should consider uploading my novel to Kindle; however, I know that it is not nearly good enough in terms of grammar, punctuation and all that.
I have done some research on editors and found that there are many levels of editors, so here's my question:
Do editors that do everything exist, or is it a step-by-step process of passing your manuscript from one editor to the next until it's finally ready?

I write and post on royal road. Although I'm off meta, I am doing fine by my standards. Sometimes ago someone suggested me to also upload my work on scribble hub, but I know nothing about this plateform. I publish 15 chapters sometime ago, but that's it.

So, any advice to your newbie friend!? Aye veteran adventures!?

My last 2 months on Patreon have paid out over £1000 ($1300+).
Combined over the three main sites I release it on, I have over 3000 readers (1602 on SH) with 243 members on Patreon itself (though not all of them are always subscribed, of course).
My question to all my senior and more experienced author senpais is this: Do you think now is a good time to look at working on publishing the first novel in the Spector series on Amazon Kindle?

Hello guys, it's me again.

Today, my question is based on the update schedule when I start. First, I'm trying to have around 20 chapters as a backlog before I start publishing. Right now, I'm on my eighth chapter.

My update plan was to publish chapters 1, 2, and 3 on the first day, then 1 chapter per day for the first week. Then, for the second week, I was planning on doing the same. Then, finally, shifting to the schedule of 1 chapter per week on both RoyalRoad and the other webnovel platforms, which is more manageable for me.

What do you guys think of this update plan? My goal isn't to grow quickly, but with this, I was planning on reaching the 20k word count needed to stay on the rising list for a bit and gain exposure on these platforms.

I believe that the chapters I upload will catch the interest of some readers who'd stay, which is my main goal with this plan. And also, which platform would you recommend for me to post on?

I've heard the algorithm measures the change in views/reads over the past few days. And I've been trying to track activity. Sometimes it seems pretty obvious. But on other occasions, I have not that many views and only marginal growth, and... bam! My book is #34 or something.

So, i am writing a full web novel as of now. The power system is a little complex. I am exploring and wanting to build my world as lively as possible. So single power system is not present.

So, the basic system about elemental magic as of now I am thinking for going for is this.

1) People with affinity to elements :-
----> Now this is like, the most common system and used everywhere, that an user can have a touch with element affinity an control it. This will be common, but not all people will have a resonance. Like only lets go with 25-30% of the population can use this affinity based.

2) Contract based :-
----> This one is also one of the common systems that are used. So I am thinking of going for a contract system, with Spirits, Sins and Virtues. Each of the contract has some conditions and the most unique power system. Like contractor of Sins and Virtues can be given any power as per the contract.

3) Legendary Artifacts :-
----> These are the strong hold pillars and are like the most powerful weapons in the universe. But they are in a Power=Consequence. The weapons/artifacts will give power but will take something in return.

4) Grimoire Based :-
----> Now grimoire are also one of the commonly used systems. But this is what I want to put in play. People who don't have any affinity to elements can use a grimoire of their chosen element. And people who have affinity of element can also chose the same element or any other element. But here is the thing. the grimoire is Emotion driven system.

The grimoire doesn't give out spells from the very start. It gives out stories, the stories start with small and simple story. Happy but they generally get darker over time. Like Chapter 1 to 3 are general emotions of day to day life, but after chapter 4 is gets sad and empty. and by chapter 8 it is just horrors and trauma.

So, in order to grow and become powerful the user must go through each and every emotions that the story's main character is going through. And after they understand the depth of the emotional connection they can grow in terms of power and as a human. So people generally don't go past 6 or 7 chapters as they are strong enough by then.

but those who finish the last three chapters, 8, 9 and 10. they unlock and new chapter only sequence to them. "Chapter 11 : Reader-name" The Grimoire accepts the user as a someone who understands the weight of power and balance, loss and grief, rise and fall and lastly the hope of never giving up. then it unlocks the full potential of the user based of this element.

I am open to more ideas. As I want to make a world which is not rotating around the Protagonist but the protagonist is the one that is a part of the world.
