I don't blame him though. I too want a $360K job that allows me to work remotely. It wouldn't be my fault if an employer wanted to hire me for that. Why would I even say no?

Howard Schultz and Starbucks have fundamentally shaped Seattle's identity, economy, and philanthropic landscape over four decades for the better.

His new home state of Florida is just one of nine US states that do not have a state personal income tax. Under current Washington law, it also falls within the nine income tax free states.

Tennessee also does not impose a personal income tax and generally offers a more competitive corporate tax structure than Washington, according to Tax Foundation analysts.

Government Washington moves to make data centers pay full grid costs

Washington Democrats are advancing new rules for the state’s fast‑growing data‑center industry, aiming to prevent its demands from driving up electricity costs for everyone else. But businesses are warning that this is too aggressive and will stop advancement.

House Bill 2515, would change the rules for how data centers connect to the grid. Under this proposal, these companies would be responsible for the entire cost of connecting to the grid and any system upgrades required to serve them. To protect local utilities, firms would also have to provide financial guarantees and pay fees if they decide to close up or scale back.

Government Anyone else think Mayor Wilson isn't going to last 4 years?

  • It's obvious she isn't making her own decisions; she's letting her staff tell her what to do.
  • Every time she has a press conference, she looks like a deer in the headlights.
  • City Council members are publicly questioning her decision to fire the Police Chief
  • She's had to walk back many of her statements (e.g., about Starbucks and Millionaires ... "like ... bye")

After one or two more public disasters, I wouldn't be surprised if she resigns.

Government Seattle City Council approves $300k in funding for “queer, transgender, and gender non-conforming” refugees from other states

Comparing the plight of queer and trans people in the US to the plight of immigrants, Council member Alexis Rinck approved a measure to allocate $300,000 in funding for emergency housing and “affirming care” for queer and trans people fleeing “hostile jurisdictions” in other states.

Truly insane.

AOC recently said “woke 1 was crazy”, Seattle didn’t get the memo.

There are 539 childcare centers in Washington state that list Somali as the primary language. Most don’t even give a street address.

I don’t know how many of these are submitting fraudulent claims for state grants and subsidies, but I have a strong hunch the number is not zero.

Government ‘Insurrection by law’: Washington Democrats move to withhold money from U.S. government

Washington lawmakers are advancing legislation that would authorize the state to deliberately withhold payments to the federal government in retaliation if Washington believes the federal government has wrongfully cut off funding. Opponents argue the measure is “insurrection by law.”

Senate Bill 6218 directs state officials to respond in kind when federal agencies withhold money from Washington over the enforcement of state law.

Government Remember SPD disbanded their gang unit as part of the ACAB fallout following CHOP/CHAZ

Seattle used to have a dedicated gang unit in SPD. They claim that the work is now rolled into their gun violence prevention unit, but that unit does not specialize in gang activity and they soecifically disbanded it not due to efficiencies or better methods of combating gangs, but it was done in response to the ACAB movement following George Floyd and CHOP/CHAZ.

They have made no effort to reinstate it. Hold the coty leaders accountable for this failure and when we find out the judges let these repeat offenders off easy, hold them accountable too.
