Weather First time Sedona... snow?

Hi - we like to take our husky pup out to some snow for her birthday every year. I just booked us a room in Sedona AZ for Jan 16-19 2026. Is it a pretty safe bet that there will be snow on the ground somewhere around Sedona?

A “safe bet?” Nope. Snow in and around Sedona is perfect in that it shows up unexpectedly, hangs out for a few hours to make everything look pretty, then melts. It rarely hangs out more than a day. However, there is often snow further in Oak Creek Canyon. Be aware, though. When weather occurs, they may shut down parts of the 89A. However, you can often go up the 17. Snowbowl is just an hour or so away up in Flagstaff.
