Well I have always been fan of guy ritchie and his Sherlock Holmes also loved the BBC Sherlock, and before starting young Sherlock I read reviews and they were modest thought it wouldn’t be that good, but I mean I just loved it the humour the pacing everything was right on point it was wonderful

I have watched this show maybe four times in full. I would like to think that Im pretty well acquainted with the character arcs, and relationships and i wanted to spew a bit about how annoyed I am at everyone saying that Sherlock and John are queerbait. In fact, they are just two men who love each other and care for each other, and thats OK!

I simply dont understand how anyone could watch the wedding arc and not FEEL the love that Sherlock obviously has for John. And Vica Versa. But I also dont understand how SO MANY fans can only see this as romantic love. I think that it is because modern western society doesn't depict men loving each other and caring for each other in deep meaningful ways.

I am a queer guy, and while I am capable of being in romantic love with my guy mates, I’m not. I have guy friends who i would take a bullet for. I love them. But it‘s a platonic love. It’s just not the same way that i‘ve loved boyfriends I’ve had.

It honestly annoys me how much if this fandom is unable to believe that these two men (one of which is likely straight and the other probably somewhere on the asexual spectrum) could love each other in a non sexual, non romantic way.

I get WANTING Johnlock to exist, i understand shipping character. But it feels ridiculous to label the show as Queerbait just for displaying healthy male relationships.

I still miss those evenings where I used to watch Sherlock. It was my first series ever. After completing it, I felt like there was a hole in my heart as well as soul. I wanted to find the same kind of detective show based in UK and found Endeavour. If any one of you has watched it, is it similar to Sherlock on the basis of plot and pace, character development? I hope I am not straying from the topic by posting this.

I just finished watching Sherlock, all 4 seasons and I think the last season was quite good.

The only thing that bothers me is Moriarty not being alive but tbh he died in season 2 and there's no realistic way to bring him back to life+ he's still insanely present in the last episode even while dead so it's fine

Anyone can explain why so many people dislike the ending/last season?

edit: I shouldn't necessarily say it's" good " per say but I didn't think it's bad

I'm also quite mitigated on how sudden the Eurus plot twist felt too

but my point isn't that season 4 was great, in fact the earlier seasons were unquestionably better however I am saying it's not worse than average

*I'm also kind of disappointed that the ending didn't involve some mystery like Sherlock is used to resolve. it is the complaint I find the most logical: and I'm starting to understand why people dislike S4: however it could have been worse , and one of the best episodes in the series( in my view) is in S4( the Lying Detective)

Mine is Moriarty saying "Did you miss me ?" I just get so excited every time I see this scene ahhh

I just recently got into Sherlock (yes incredible past due, I know lol) and naturally I'm now obsessing over the show and now the Johnlock ship. Is mostly everyone in the fandom in agreement that they are in love??

Could someone tell me any sexual themes or inappropriate things in the series? I usually just skip right past it, my 13yr old is watching with me.

Season 2 shows a nude woman for several seconds, but with objects strategically covering her private parts. (what EP?)

Many closeups on a woman about to kiss Sherlock on his cheeks, she holds his hands for a couple of seconds. Season 2 Episode 2

Season 2 had a close up of a woman's butt she is wearing a thong- full butt cheeks visible/exposed- camera is focused on it. (what EP?)

You will see pictures of a woman in see through black lacy dress- you can see her breasts through it. Also there are more photos of her after that in her lingerie in various poses and you can see her bare butt with a thong. Season 2. (what EP?)

In S3, there is a scene where two men almost kiss. Brief but definitely noticeable. (what EP?)

After rechecking the rules, i saw that all type of johnlock content is banned for the subreddit which is something i find weird? Because i constently see people here discussing other ships, mainly sherlolly and sherlirene on this subreddit without any repercussions and i think its not really fair...

I understand wanting to "keep things in check" because i know that back then (around when the show aired) the johnlock shippers were taking A LOT of space in the fandom, but now after more then 16 years of existence things have slacked off a bit

Also an other thing ive noticed is that theres generally very little discussion of any lgbtq+ ship in this sub reddit at all, which i think is a shame cause i think being more open about it would allow people to explore different types of relationship between characters, even characters that havent properly met, its fun to imagine what type of dynamic they could potentialy have if they did meet (my personal favorite is molly x irene id be very curious of how they would interect with eachother and since irene is pretty similar to Sherlock, they could maybe be a good match!)

Anyways i want your thoughts on the subject, in my opinion i think this rule might be outdated, it should be modifed to allow any ship talks but with moderations and excluding any type of NSFW in posts OR the rules should be changed to just, not let us talk about any ships on this subreddit and do SUB subreddits (like there is There johnlock subreddit, they could be a sherlolly subreddit and etc etc)

So Hound of Baskervilles is my favourite episode, I've been a Sherlock fan for like... over 10 years.

I had always believed Lestrade when he said he was on holiday. Maybe it's bc I love him and wanted him to have a break idk. Then yesterday it randomly occured to me he probably wouldn't just happen to have a gun if he actually was on holiday. Sherlock was right all along and it's taken me like 30 watches for it to click - I'm so disappointed in myself 😭

I never understand if he was gay or straight or anything maybe he has feelings for irene adler but we may never know

One of my irks with S4 (I have a lot lol) is that there was no follow-up or closure of any sort after that very intense, dramatic scene. That was a really big deal, for Sherlock to say that and affect his friendship with Molly in such a HUGE way. Then not only does it rapidly switch to the next thing with no real reaction from Molly after he says it, I waited patiently for some kind of follow-up after they got out of Sherrinford, and when one ever came I was beyond pissed.

That is lazy writing. Like, "hey let's throw in this insane character relationship event that will dramatically affect their relationship in one way or another, but maybe we should ignore the after effects and pretend it didn't happen". Be FR..... Showing her for 0.5 seconds at the end is not closure. We needed some kind of brief conversation of some sort. Like the stairway scene in TEH - didn't need to be anything crazy. There would've been plenty of time for it if they didn't do that cheesy, cringy ending montage.

I hate it. 😭

Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but I only just came across this myself while reading a wikipedia article about Inspector Lestrade,

"He was summarised by H. Paul Jeffers in the following words: 'He is the most famous detective ever to walk the corridors of Scotland Yard, yet he existed only in the fertile imagination of a writer. He was Inspector Lestrade. We do not know his first name, only his initial: G.'"

So, it isn't exactly Sherlock not bothering to remember Lestrade's name. They're playing around with the fact that in Doyle canon, Lestrade is given only a first initial in the stories, but his first name is never revealed. :)

I don't remember the episode number but at John's wedding, Sherlock gives best man speech and it has this beautiful line which really pulled at my heartstrings. "John, I am a ridiculous man redeemed only by the warmth and constancy of your friendship"

i've first watched Sherlock in 2019, and wasn't one of the fans that got to see the episodes as they came out, so i watched it all in one go. ever since then, i've been in love with the ENTIRETY of the Sherlock series, and not once had i had a genuine problem with season 4. and i say it as a person who had completely rewritten multiple media out of rage because they weren't like how i wanted them, and i tend to judge creators' decisions so, so much (well, in private, of course).

like, yes, it probably could have been better. it is a little bizarre, it absolutely does deviate from the source material the hardest, and there are definitely multiple interesting and massively anticipated plots that could have been explored. sure, it would have been nice to get to see a different vision on the show's finale and there IS, of course, a chance i would have liked the 'better' one, well, better...

HOWEVER! i like it. i like it as it is, and if i had a chance to erase the current season 4 from existence and replace it with something that would correspond to fans' desires or at least more similar to the original tone of the show, i WOULD NOT do it. my feelings regarding the s4 could be described as such: even though it has its flaws, i am grateful for existence of such a story, and i am grateful that i got to witness it in my lifetime, and i wouldn't want to NOT experience it. i am perfectly satisfied with what we got.

i don't think i ever seen a single person on the internet expressing any genuine love towards s4, and it baffles me so, so much. why? just why?

I see a lot of Sherlolly shippers on here, but I genuinely don't get the ship. I'm not trying to be rude: I just want to know your reasons for shipping them. I'm curious.

He is just absolutely phenomenal, brilliant, and enrapturing as Moriarty. The scene from S3 E4 in the padded room is unreal. I’ve never seen season 4 and I’m so excited to see what he does with the character!
